On the Development of a Spatial Hybrid Visual Alignment System (3차원 하이브리드 비전 정렬 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, suggested is a hybrid-type visual alignment system to align mask and panel in 3-D space, where mask and panel are to be controlled independently by two individual positioning mechanisms in order to compensate for spatial misalignments. In the hybrid visual alignment system, the below 4-PPR parallel mechanism provides in-plain motions to pattern mask like the other conventional alignment systems while the above 4-RPS parallel mechanism is to move glass panel to achieve a complete spatial alignment. For the control of the hybrid alignment system, first, inverse kinematic solutions for the parallel mechanisms are given to determine the driving distance of each active joint, and also an efficient way to determine the spatial alignment error is developed by exploiting three in-plane cameras.

Comparison of the Fuel Economy of Series and Parallel Hybrid Bus System Using Dynamic Programming (동적 계획법을 이용한 직렬형 및 병렬형 하이브리드 버스 시스템 연비 비교)

  • There are lots of studies about hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) because of the global warming and energy problems. Series and parallel HEVs are the common types of many developing hybrid vehicle types. Series HEV uses engine only as the generator for the battery but parallel HEV utilizes engine for driving and generating of the vehicle. In this paper, backward simulations based on dynamic programming were conducted for the fuel economy analysis of two different types of hybrid transit buses depending on driving cycles. It is shown that there is a relation between the type of HEV and the characteristics of driving cycles. Regarding the aggressiveness, the series hybrid bus is more efficient than the parallel system on highly aggressive driving cycle. On the other hand, the parallel hybrid bus is more efficient than the series system on low aggressive driving cycle. Based on this results of the paper, it is expected to choose more efficient type of the hybrid buses according to the driving cycle.

  • In this paper, a novel parallel hybrid iterative method is proposed for finding a common element of the set of solutions of a system of equilibrium problems, the set of solutions of variational inequalities for inverse strongly monotone mappings and the set of fixed points of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert space. Strong convergence theorem is proved for the sequence generated by the scheme. Finally, a parallel iterative algorithm for two finite families of variational inequalities and nonexpansive mappings is established.

A Hybrid Sentence Alignment Method for Building a Korean-English Parallel Corpus (한영 병렬 코퍼스 구축을 위한 하이브리드 기반 문장 자동 정렬 방법)

  • The recent growing popularity of statistical methods in machine translation requires much more large parallel corpora. A Korean-English parallel corpus, however, is not yet enoughly available, little research on this subject is being conducted. In this paper we present a hybrid method of aligning sentences for Korean-English parallel corpora. We use bilingual news wire web pages, reading comprehension materials for English learners, computer-related technical documents and help files of localized software for building a Korean-English parallel corpus. Our hybrid method combines sentence-length based and word-correspondence based methods. We show the results of experimentation and evaluate them. Alignment results from using a full translation model are very encouraging, especially when we apply alignment results to an SMT system: 0.66% for BLEU score and 9.94% for NIST score improvement compared to the previous method.

  • Tachyon primary system which introduces recently is a high performance supercomputer that composed with AMD Barcelona nodes. In this paper, we will verify the performance and parallel scalability of TachyonIn by using multi-zone NAS Parallel Benchmark(NPB) which is one of a program with hybrid parallel method. To test performance of hybrid parallel execution, B and C classes of BT-MZ in NPB version 3.3 were used. And the parallel scalability test has finished with Tachyon's 1024 processes. It is the first time in Korea to get a result of hybrid parallel computing calculation using more than 1024 processes. Hybrid parallel method in high performance computing system with multi-core technology like Tachyon describes that it can be very efficient and useful parallel performance benchmarks.

Study on the Thermal Performance of a Solar Assisted Heat Pump System with a Hybrid Collector (태양열/공기열 복합 집열기를 가지는 하이브리드 히트펌프 시스템의 열성능에 관한 연구)

  • In the present work, a solar assisted heat pump (SAHP) system with a hybrid collector was analyzed. For this, a simplified thermodynamic model was developed. Based on the proposed model, the heat transfer rate, COP, and the annual operating hour of the SAHP system were estimated. The effect of the variation of system design parameters on the performance of the system was also examined. From the results, the performance was improved with increasing the effectiveness of heat exchangers and decreasing the difference between the evaporation temperature and the outlet brine temperature of the hybrid collector loop. Finally, the performance of SAHP system with a hybrid collector was compared with that of conventional serial and parallel SAHP systems. The SAHP system with a hybrid collector was substantially better than a series system and slightly worse than a parallel system for both the yearly averaged heat transfer rate and COP. However, the annual operating hour of the SAHP system with a hybrid collector was much better than that of a parallel system.

  • A multiprocessor system for high-speed processing of hybrid image coding algorithms such as H.261, MPEG, or Digital HDTV is presented in this study. Using a combination of highly parallel 32-bit microprocessor, DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform), and motion detection processor, a new processing module is designed for the implementation of high performance coding system. The sysyem is implemented to allow parallel processing since a single module alone cannot perform hybrid coding algorithms at high speed, and crossbar switch is used to realize various parallel processing architectures by altering interconnections between processing modules within the system.

  • A conventional parallel hybrid active filter has an inherent problem of large current ratings of devices used in inverter. In general, this problem has been solved by adjusting turn ratio of a matching transformer. However, making the transformer with high turn ratio may be not available for high power system due to its requirement for high voltage insulation. In this paper, a new configuration is proposed for parallel hybrid active filter. In the proposed hybrid active filter, the active filter is connected to the passive filter inductor in parallel through a matching transformer for the aim of reducing the size of inverter. Through computer simulations, we have shown the outstanding performances of the proposed topology.

  • To analyze the correlation between drivetrain systems and to optimize the vehicle design with satisfying of the initial design objects, the performance sensitivity analysis through the iterative design procedure must be carried out. In this study, effects of the design parameters for the main components of the parallel type hybrid drivetrain system are analyzed by using the developed method of the vehicle performance simulation, and the basis of the optimal selection of the design parameters from the relation of design constraints and required performances is suggested. In driving control of the parallel hybrid vehicle, power split ratio is the most important factor, and the improved drivetrain system can be constructed through the only change of the algorithm for determination of the power spilt ratio, which is strongly applicable to the driving patterns and the environments. Therefore, Various techniques, such as the change of the weighting factors and the range extended algorithm, are suggested and evaluated in this paper.

Comparison of Message Passing Interface and Hybrid Programming Models to Solve Pressure Equation in Distributed Memory System (분산 메모리 시스템에서 압력방정식의 해법을 위한 MPI와 Hybrid 병렬 기법의 비교)

  • The message passing interface (MPI) and hybrid programming models for the parallel computation of a pressure equation were compared in a distributed memory system. Both models were based on domain decomposition, and two numbers of the sub-domain were selected by considering the efficiency of the hybrid model. The parallel performances for various problem sizes were measured using up to 96 threads. It was found that in addition to the cache-memory size, the overhead of the MPI communication/OpenMP directives affected the parallel performance. For small problems, the parallel performance was low because the percentage of the overhead of the MPI communication/OpenMP directives increased as the number of threads increased, and MPI was better than the hybrid model because it had a smaller communication overhead. For large problems, the parallel performance was high because, in addition to the cache effect, the percentage of the communication overhead was relatively low compared to that for small problems, and the hybrid model was better than MPI because the communication overhead of MPI was more dominant than that of the OpenMP directives in the hybrid model.
