  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to analyze main problems on occupational safety and hygiene in construction sites and to suggest some improvement methods. In order to decrease industrial accidents, I emphasize the approach paradigm shifts according to characteristics of construction workers. Methods: Pointing out the irrationality of current institutions by comparing bad outcomes of occupational safety and hygiene in construction industry and characteristics of construction workers. Results: In order to decrease industrial accidents, we need some approach paradigm shifts; the supply method of industrial safety and health fundamentals on the construction industry level, the accident rate calculation by using the actual construction workforce instead of an estimation, institutionalizing the prevention efforts themselves for industrial accidents, securing enough production costs for the precondition of occupational safety and hygiene in construction sites. Conclusions: I ascertain the need of the approach paradigm shifts for decreasing industrial accidents in the construction industry.

  • Radical paradigm shift is being expected due to the coming of the so-called intelligent society. In the intelligent society, things or machines are able to use intelligence for the first time in history and this will bring about fundamental changes at every corner of human society. This article analyzes views of the world in order to figure out basic directions of this paradigm shift. A dualistic view of world mediated by technology is suggested for a new world view of the intelligent society, based on comparison of a traditional dualistic view of world between human-nature and a tripartite view of world between human-machine-nature. This article summarizes paradigms of the intelligent society into four ; externalization of intelligence, productivity explosion, platform society, and self-organizing society. These new paradigms will provide lots of benefits such as intelligence augmentation, production capacity increase, and self-organizing effect. But at the same time, it will increase risks of system failure because of loss of human control on technologies. In conclusion, it is argued that human choices and efforts will decide the future of the intelligent society becuase the paradigm shift is value neutral in essence.

  • The purpose of this study is to present and review the possible effect of the learning paradigm shift from traditional method to ubiquitous learning, the societal issues that need to be address in order to design a new pedagogical platform trending from e-learning to m-learning and now the u-learning. That without the proper study of how learning environment may affect the learning process of an individual will lead to poor quality of education. This new era of learning environment offer a big opportunity for "anytime, anywhere" learning. Thus, Lifelong learning is at hand of everyone. Maximizing the benefit of new trend will be a great help and addressing the limitations will lead to quality education. The components that comprise the ubiquitous learning are also discussed together with the technologies that will make it possible. The research learning domains that are in progress which shows that the interest in pervasive or lifelong learning attracted the interest of many research institutions. The types of learning mode and learning modalities are also briefly discussed in this paper.

  • The 'Hyper-connected society' in which all objects such as people, device, place are connected via networks and share information being realized. As the information and communication environment changes, spatial information also faces a significant challenge. Korean government is striving to meet the social demand for spatial information that will bring 'Hyper-connectivity' such as autonomous vehicles, drones. Until now, however, it has only partially responded to urgent demand and has not prepared a fundamental countermeasure. In order to effectively and actively respond to the demand for spatial information that is needed in the Hyper-connected society, a strategy that can lead to mid- to long-term fundamental changes is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the future demand and application characteristics of spatial information confronted with a big paradigm shift called 'Hyper-connected society', and to search spatial information strategy that can cope with the demand of spatial information in future society.

  • This study examines the paradigm shift in vocational training with the introduction of remote training, which has been conducted fragmentarily by project, to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyzes the operation's problems and limitations by dividing the remote training process from assessment to budget execution by subject, stage, and procedure. Additionally, it collects various stakeholders' opinions to propose improvement plans for the vocational training support system to effectively respond to the paradigm shift in vocational training in the digital and non-face-to-face era. The study assumes that the assessment of training institutions and the training process should be innovated in a way that can accommodate the direction of vocational training in the digital and non-face-to-face era instead of focusing on traditional collective training. Based on this premise, it suggests ways to enhance the pre-approval screening system and the training institution assessment system.

  • Manufacturing industry is on the verge of a major paradigm shift. This shift will take us away from mass production, way beyond lean manufacturing into a world of new intelligent and agile manufacturing. We spent most of our time during the 1980s copying the Japanese. This paper studys reengineering methodologies to build up low-cost manufacturing systems efficiently in Korean companies

  • This paper discusses management education by utilizing the cyber education learning system in a web-based. New learning system tools offer great promise for a new contents of management learning. The cyber education learning system a shift from face-to-face lecturing to interactive learning. The situation changes profoundly when information technology becomes develope and education paradigm is shift. By exploiting the digital media. educations, and students, managers can shift to a new, more effect cyber education learning system. The following shift from classic educations to cyber educations learning system: from instruction to construction, from teacher-centered to learner-centered, from school to lifelong, from one-size-fits-all to customized, from teacher as transmitter to teacher as facilitator. Cyber education learning system has an important role to play in management education. Web-based technology is regarded as a general solution to cyber education learning. This study discussed many factors of implementation in cyber education systems and provide utilizing the learning system at main, detail functions. Lastly, management implications of these cyber education utilize are discussed in more detail.

  • What is the "new paradigm"? It is impossible express it in one or two words, but if one had to; the closest might be the "holistic approach". The expression can be justified by the fact that the conclusions above lead to a greater intermixing of mathematics with engineering and natural sciences subjects, typically expressed in the form of examples of simplified real problems. They also lead to a greater intermixing of subjects within mathematics so that the courses should have less separation e.g. between symbolic and numerical mathematics. The conclusions also lead to the spreading the mathematics courses throughout all study years, not just the first two years. Of course, this should be done with great care in order to guarantee studies that are logically linked together. The new paradigm also means that the needs arising from industrial mathematics must be taken into account in the contents of engineering mathematics courses. Such topics are e.g. multivariate methods, statistics and use of mathematical software. What are we expected to gain from the paradigm shift? The primary benefit should be in obtaining more productive engineers equipped with a better degree of mathematical preparedness for engineering problems. But in addition, it should also promote more intensive use of applied mathematics and easier communication with professional mathematicians, often needed in complicated industrial problems.?Finally, it can be noted that the new paradigm is in harmony with the basic ideas of the CDIO (Conceive - Design - Implement - Operate) initiative for producing the next generation of engineers [1]. New ideas for engineering education can be found also in the homepage of SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education) [2].

  • This article is a analysis & diagnosis on the shifting of regulation paradigm for arcade game in Korea. Arcade market is decreasing market size after 2006. Arcade platform is characterized by the individuality & PC-based ability. This rapidly changes of the environment are facilitating the gambling in arcade game market. For the protecting the gambling in arcade game market, regulation paradigm needs the shift. To game center & speculative behavior, from game & gambling criteria. The regulation on arcade game in China is a meaningful case, when we make the new paradigm.
