Chitosan, second largest biomass after cellulose on earth, has potential for use as functional food package due to its antibacterial activity. However, due to high melting temperature of chitosan, chitosan films have been made by casting method. Because gelatin has relatively low molting temperature depending upon amount of plasticizer added, it was added to chitosan to produce commercially feasible film. The objective of the current study was to determine optimum blend ratio and amount of chitosan/gelatin blend solutions against antibacterial activities for extruder resin. Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus cereus ATCC 14579 and Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 15313) and -negative bacteria (Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Salmonella enteritidis IFO 3313) were used. Paper (8 mm) diffusion and optical density methods were used to evaluate effect of different blending ratio solutions on the inhibition of bacterial growth. Measured clear none size ranged from 8 mm to 18.07 mm in paper diffusion test. For B. cereus, E. coli, and S. enteritidis, addition of $50\;{\mu}L$ blend solution (chitosan/gelatin = 2/8: 0.3 mg) resulted in clear zone on paper disc. In L. monocytogenes, inhibition effect was observed with 0.6 mg chitosan (chitosan/gelatin=4/6). Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of B. cerues, L. monocytogenes, E. coli, and S. enteritidis with addition of chitosan were 0.1461, 0.2419, 0.0980, and 0.0490 mg/mL, respectively, These results indicate possibility of producing commercially feasible film with addition of optimum chitosan/gelatin amount.
This paper has studied the hydrophilizing effect of support on the performance of pressure retarded osmosis (PRO). The hydrophilicity of polyester support has been controlled with cellulose solutions. In order to investigate the effect of hydrophilizing of support, the performance test has been conducted with membrane which compose of active layer and support in absence of support layer. The active layer has been made by casting of cellulose tri-acetate (CTA) 1,4-dioxane solution (13 wt%) and combined with the hydrophilized support. The results show that water fluxes of PRO membranes with hydrophobic or hydrophilized support were measured $0.8L/m^2hr$ and $1.2L/m^2hr$ under $5kgf/cm^2$ pressure, respectively. However, water flux increase did not accord with hydrophilicity of supports treated by cellulose solutions. It is because the porosity and pore size of supports decrease as the cellulose concentration increases. This result confirms that both the hydrophilization of support and the maintenance of membrane porosity are important to enhance the performance of PRO membrane.
Present - day inlay casting procedures have been developed for more than 100 years and experimentation has focused on the perfect adaptation to the cavity preparation. Marginal adaptation is considered to be an important indicator of the acceptability of the cast restotration, especially on the gingival margin. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a dissecting microscope and burnishing on vertical discrepancies, horizontal discrepancies, and cement thicknesson master die. Extracted premolars were prepared for class II gold inlays and master dies were made with conventional techniques. The experiments consisted of 4 groups. Group 1 : unaided eye, no burnishing on master die. Group 2 : unaided eye, burnishing on master die. Group 3 : microscope, no burnishing on master die. Group 4 : microscope, burnishing on master die. Cemented inlays were embedded in the hard resin and sectioned with microcutter through the gingival margins. The sectioned surfaces were polished with emery paper and finally with aluminum oxide powders. The results of the experiments were measured for vertical discrepancies, horizontal discrepancied and cement thickness under the scanning electron microscpe at the beveled gingival margin. The results of the study were summarized as follows. 1. Group 1 showed the vertical discrepancies of $81.6{\mu}m({\pm}48.6{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $60.1{\mu}m({\pm}41.1{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $59.6{\mu}m({\pm}24.6{\mu}m)$. 2. Group 2 showed the vertical discrepancies of $78.6{\mu}m({\pm}30.9{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $36.9{\mu}m({\pm}20.7{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $54.0{\mu}m({\pm}21.6{\mu}m)$. 3. Group 3 showed the vertical discrepancies of $57.5{\mu}m({\pm}26.4{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $28.4{\mu}m({\pm}17.5{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $37.2{\mu}m({\pm}17.4{\mu}m)$. 4. Group 4 showed the vertical discrepancies of $56.7{\mu}m({\pm}35.0{\mu}m)$, horizontal discrepancies of $31.8{\mu}m({\pm}24.2{\mu}m)$, and cement thickness of $45.6{\mu}m({\pm}19.8{\mu}m)$. 5. Vertical discrepancies were not significantly different at any groups(p>.050). 6. Microscope groups(Group 3, 4) showed significantly improved horizontal marginal adaptation (p<.050). 7. Although cement thickness showed the subset of Group 3. 4, 2 and Group 4, 2, 1. Group 3 showed significantly smaller thickness than Group l(p<.050). 8. Finishing and polishing by means of a microscope produced significantly smaller discrepancies than doing so with the unaided eye(p<.050).
Interactive Video Service(IVS) is a new type of media service that enables users to interact with others in the process of casting and watching videos in a system. 'Timing flexibility', which divides IVS into real-time IVS and non-real-time IVS, is one of the significant factors of interactivity. The objective of this study is to identify critical factors of interactivity in IVS and to compare their effects in terms of timing flexibility. To achieve the objective, prior literature has been reviewed to establish a theoretical framework, and twelve active users of IVS have been interviewed to develop research model of IVS. Finally, an online survey has been conducted to verify the research model. The results indicate that Technical Factor, Communication Factor, and Contents Factor of IVS are found to be the important interaction factors in IVS; and their impacts on the intention to use IVS were found to be affected by timing flexibility. This paper ends with theoretical and practical implications of study results.

The Korean pop music people enjoy today is mostly based on the pop music from foreign countries. Therefore, not only is the history very short, but also not much research is done in the Korean pop music field. Especially in terms related with the singing method, in other words the breathing and vocalization of Korean singers, it is difficult to define where it is actually situated. To add a little, it seems as if it is swarming somewhere in the middle of Korean traditional music singing methods and classical music vocalization. As pop music made its way into Korea, Korean singers had to go through many trial and errors to sing the songs of singers that had different physical conditions. Singers getting vocal nodules because of excessive vocalization, was not a surprise at that time. Yongphil Jo, a Korean singer, wanted to overcome his limits and maximize his vocal abilities. He found the answers in Korean traditional music. One of his representative songs, "The lady out the window", is one of Jo's title songs and it is the song that made a turning point in the Korean pop music vocalization. The purpose of this research is to understand the circumstances of Korean pop music through the periodical and musical background of the past and find out why the song (The lady out the window) was such an epochal vocal method at that time. Moreover, this paper covers how the breathing and vocalization is expressed by analyzing the flow, the emotional expressions, and the techniques of "The lady out the window."

Nanostructured high strength metastable Al-, Mg- and Ti-based alloys containing different amorphous, quasicrystalline and nanocrystalline phases are synthesized by non-equilibrium processing techniques. Such alloys can be prepared by quenching from the melt or by powder metallurgy techniques. This paper focuses on one hand on mechanically alloyed and ball milled powders containing different volume fractions of amorphous or nano-(quasi)crystalline phases, consolidated bulk specimens and, on the other hand. on cast specimens containing different constituent phases with different length-scale. As one example. $Mg_{55}Y_{15}Cu_{30}$- based metallic glass matrix composites are produced by mechanical alloying of elemental powder mixtures containing up to 30 vol.% $Y_2O_3$ particles. The comparison with the particle-free metallic glass reveals that the nanosized second phase oxide particles do not significantly affect the glass-forming ability upon mechanical alloying despite some limited particle dissolution. A supercooled liquid region with an extension of about 50 K can be maintained in the presence of the oxides. The distinct viscosity decrease in the supercooled liquid regime allows to consolidate the powders into bulk samples by uniaxial hot pressing. The $Y_2O_3$ additions increase the mechanical strength of the composites compared to the $Mg_{55}Y_{15}Cu_{30}$ metallic glass. The second example deals with Al-Mn-Ce and Al-Cu-Fe composites with quasicrystalline particles as reinforcements, which are prepared by quenching from the melt and by powder metallurgy. $Al_{98-x}Mn_xCe_2$ (x =5,6,7) melt-spun ribbons containing a major quasicrystalline phase coexisting with an Al-matrix on a nanometer scale are pulverized by ball milling. The powders are consolidated by hot extrusion. Grain growth during consolidation causes the formation of a micrometer-scale microstructure. Mechanical alloying of $Al_{63}Cu_{25}Fe_{12}$ leads to single-phase quasicrystalline powders. which are blended with different volume fractions of pure Al-powder and hot extruded forming $Al_{100-x}$$(Al_{0.63}Cu_{0.25}Fe_{0.12})_x$ (x = 40,50,60,80) micrometer-scale composites. Compression test data reveal a high yield strength of ${\sigma}_y{\geq}$700 MPa and a ductility of ${\varepsilon}_{pl}{\geq}$5% for than the Al-Mn-Ce bulk samples. The strength level of the Al-Cu-Fe alloys is ${\sigma}_y{\leq}$550 MPa significantly lower. By the addition of different amounts of aluminum, the mechanical properties can be tuned to a wide range. Finally, a bulk metallic glass-forming Ti-Cu-Ni-Sn alloy with in situ formed composite microstructure prepared by both centrifugal and injection casting presents more than 6% plastic strain under compressive stress at room temperature. The in situ formed composite contains dendritic hcp Ti solid solution precipitates and a few $Ti_3Sn,\;{\beta}$-(Cu, Sn) grains dispersed in a glassy matrix. The composite micro- structure can avoid the development of the highly localized shear bands typical for the room temperature defor-mation of monolithic glasses. Instead, widely developed shear bands with evident protuberance are observed. resulting in significant yielding and homogeneous plastic deformation over the entire sample.
The concern about hollow core PC slab has been increased to improve the workability during a construction of building by reducing self weight of structural members. In this manner, recently, TRS (Tripple Ribs Slab) was developed as a new type of half PC slab system. TRS member consists of the triple webs and the bottom flange prestressed by strands. The slab system is completed by casting of topping concrete on the TRS after filling styrofoam between the webs. This paper, presents a flexural experiment to investigate the flexural capacity of the TRS. Five full scale TRS members were made and tested under simple support condition to be failed by flexure and their strength was evaluated by code equations; the variables in the test are the depth and the presence of topping or raised spot formed when slip-forming. In addition, a nonlinear sectional analysis was performed for the specimens and the result was compared with the test results. From the study, it was found that the TRS has enough flexural strength and ductility to resist the design loads and its strength can be suitably predicted by using code equations. The raised spot did not affect the strength so that the spot need not to be removed by doing additional work. For the more accurate prediction of TRS's flexural behavior by using nonlinear sectional analysis, it is recommended to consider the concrete's brittle property due to slip-forming process in the modeling.

Transaction value of business-to-business(B2B) is composed of various factors for groups and time series. In this paper, we use the panel data for finding various variables and using this we analyse the factors that is major influence to transaction value of business-to-business. For analysis we looked at transaction value of business-to-business of 7 groups such as manufacturing industry, electric, gas and piped water industry, construction industry, retail & wholesale trade, traffic industry, publish, image; broad-casting & telecommunication and information service industry, etc. In our analysis we looked at the transaction value of business-to-business during the period from 2005.01 to 2009.12. We examined the data in relation to the transaction value of cyber shopping mall, company bond, composite stock price index, transaction value of credit card, loaned rate of interest in deposit bank, rate of exchange looking at the factors which determine the transaction value of business-to-business, evidence was produced supporting the hypothesis that there is a significant positive relationship between the transaction value of cyber shopping mall, composite stock price index and loaned rate of interest in deposit bank, rate of exchange. The company bond is negative relationship, transaction value of credit card is positive relationship and they are not significant variables in terms of the transaction value of business-to-business.

For providing a basic data concerning with a fishing deck layout design of a trawler the authors conducted the video observations about the working activities of crews on the deck in the different layout of two Korean coastal large stern trawlers (gross tonnage: 139). The winch of the trawler-A was installed on the aft of the fishing deck and the trawler-B, on the forward of the fishing deck. The work and activities of the deck hands on both trawlers were observed using the CCD (charge coupled device) camera installed on each trawler's deck for one month from August 3, 2010. The video data was analyzed by the hierarchical task analysis (HTA) method. In results, numbers of tasks to require deck hands during the hauling net and the casting net were 25 and 28 for the trawler-A and 27 and 48 for the trawler-B, respectively. The working processes were represented a same in both of the trawlers. Location for controlling the deck machineries, the location installed trawl winch, kinds of deck machineries, crew's custom for using deck machineries were the factor affecting to the number of the task. In the case of the improvement suggested in the results is carried out, the reduction percentages of the number of task in the trawler-A and trawler-B were estimated as 24.5% and 51.3%, respectively. Through this study it was found that the quantitative analysis is possible for the work processes, work methods and the work contents in the trawler. Also the suggestion for improving the fishing deck layout design of the trawler was possible by finding out the factors increasing the number of tasks and removing the tasks. We expect that the results of this paper are used as a basic data for designing the layout of deck machineries in the trawler in the future.
Cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) with 50~100 nm diameter were manufactured from micro-size cellulose by an application of a high-pressure homogenizer at 1,400 bar. High strength nanopapers were prepared over a filter paper by a vacuum filtration from CNF suspension. After reinforcing and dispersing CNF suspension, hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based composites were tailored by solvent- and film-casting methods, respectively. After 2, 4, 6 and 8 passes through high-pressure homogenizer, the tensile strength of the nanopapers were extremely high and increased linearly depending upon the pass number. Chemical modification of 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorodecyl-triethoxysilane (PFDTES) on the nanopapers significantly increased the mechanical strength and water repellency. The reinforcement of 1, 3, and 5 wt% CNF to HPC and PVA resins also improved the mechanical properties of the both composites.
