Log Analysis System Design using RTMA

  • Every web server comprises a repository of all actions and events that occur on the server. Server logs can be used to quantify user traffic. Intelligent analysis of this data provides a statistical baseline that can be used to determine server load, failed requests and other events that throw light on site usage patterns. This information provides valuable leads on marketing and site management activities. In this paper, we propose a method of design for log analysis system using RTMA(realtime monitoring and analysis) technique.

Improvement of SOM using Stratification

  • Self organizing map(SOM) is one of the unsupervised methods based on the competitive learning. Many clustering works have been performed using SOM. It has offered the data visualization according to its result. The visualized result has been used for decision process of descriptive data mining as exploratory data analysis. In this paper we propose improvement of SOM using stratified sampling of statistics. The stratification leads to improve the performance of SOM. To verify improvement of our study, we make comparative experiments using the data sets form UCI machine learning repository and simulation data.

A Study on the Scheme of Implementing Meta-data Based Applications for Enterprises (메타 데이터 기반의 기업용 애플리케이션 구축 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Generally, the phases of constructing information systems are consisted of systems planning and selection, system analysis, system design, and system implementation and operation. These systems require many efforts and costs for additional development of modification requirements due to a frequent changes of business environments and business processes. Especially, inconsistencies between system design and system implementation usually happen during development steps because of the difficulties of program developments due to difficulties of capturing exact user requirements and frequent changes of user requirements. This paper proposes a scheme of implementing meta-data based applications for enterprises in order to reduce inconsistencies between system design and system implementation and to overcome limits of the existing coding-based development methods of applications which must use until disuse if they are developed once. Also, this paper presents a framework of repository system to systematically manage and utilize meta-data. The core concept of the proposed scheme makes outputs generated in the phases of system analysis and design into meta-data and is to easily develop and customize application programs using meta-data repository. Also, to show the applicability of the proposed scheme, it is applied to implement ERP system of 'H' automotive part manufacturer. As a result, the proposed scheme can gain improvements such as easiness and productivity of program development, easiness of maintenance, reusability of program components, etc.

  • This paper aims at providing guidelines enabling productive software construction by offering reusable modules which is used not only for effective maintenance for each step, but also for a re-engineering process after analyzing developed source code. There are four processing steps. The first is to analyze source code. The second is module slicing and clustering using McCabe and BP/Win Tools, The third is to transform the outputs extracted from the business model to reusable modules. The final step is to design repository and to construct a system. In this paper, we applied the fourth step to our case study, which was specified from the first step to the fourth. The specified fourth step contains various things for constructing repository. And the fourth step reanalyzes informal and unstructured information by using reverse engineering tools, in order to provide effective guidelines for productive software maintenance and re-engineering.

An Efficient Preprocessing System for Searching Similar Texts among Massive Document Repository (대용량 문서 집합에서 유사 문서 탐색을 위한 효과적인 전처리 시스템의 설계)

  • Since the paper plagiarism has become one of important social issues, it is necessary to develop system for measuring the similarity between papers. The speed and accuracy of the system are very important features. So many researchers are studying the features. In this paper, we propose a preprocessing method using 'Global Dictionary' model to enhance performance of the system. The global dictionary includes information of all words in the document repository. The system uses the model to find similar papers with low computing time. Finally our experiment showed that a set of more than 20,000 documents could be reduced to about 50 documents drastically by our filtering techniques, which proves the excellence of our system.

  • A vehicle Control System that is a system combined by a Car Navigation System, a Geograhical Information System, and a Communication Network usually permit a central control room to detect vehicle's locations dynamically and manage these informations synthetically. Therefore, a vehicle control system can be used to control the rapid movement of patrol cars, freight transportation, and so on. In this paper, we designed and implemented a data manager for an application system, such as a vehicle control system, that usually manages road data, vehicle data, vehicle's location data, etc. The data manager that is implemented in this paper consists of system management module, road data management module, vehicle data management module, GPS(Global Positioning System) data management module, and additional data management module. Especially, we use the SHORE(Scalable Heterogeneous Object REpository) system as a storage system of the data manager.

  • The PSP (Personal Software Process) is developed to help developers make high-quality products through improving their personal process. With consistent measurement and analysis activity that the PSP suggests, developers can identify process deficiencies and make reliable estimates on effort and quality. However, due to the high-overhead and context-switching problem of manual data recording, developers have difficulties in collecting reliable data, which can lead wrong analysis results. On the other hand, the paper-based process guides of the PSP are inconvenient to navigate its process information and difficult to attach additional information. In this paper, we introduce a PSP supporting tool developed to handle these problems. The tool provides automated data collection facilities to help acquire reliable data, an EPG (Electronic Process Guide) for the PSP to provide easy access and navigation of the process information, and an experience repository to store development experience as additional information about the process.

  • Recently, as the technology has been blended with IT, BT or NT and technology in each field has been developed progressively with the people's needs for a healthy and abundance life. In the medical service field as well, related technologies such as medical equipment, medical information system, or medical business application have come to be diversified and advanced. However, most of these medical technologies are being developed independently without an interaction with other medical institutions or related companies, which causes many problems in the integration or interchangeability of them. This paper is intended to solve the problems generated during a direct information sharing between the functional interfaces of the present healthcare information sharing system. This paper develops a repository between the interfaces, which can save all the healthcare information from the institutions, and convert and publish it in various forms of document. In other words, recently HL7 protocol has been used for sharing the healthcare information in order to save the information in XML format, and develops the H-DISS(Healthcare-Documents Integrated Sharing System), a repository to manage and publish the saved document.

Output Power Prediction of Combined Cycle Power Plant using Logic-based Tree Structured Fuzzy Neural Networks (로직에 기반 한 트리 구조의 퍼지 뉴럴 네트워크를 이용한 복합 화력 발전소의 출력 예측)

  • Combined cycle power plants are often used to produce power. These days prediction of power plant output based on operating parameters is a major concern. This paper presents an approach to using computational intelligence technique to predict the output power of combined cycle power plant. Computational intelligence techniques have been developed and applied to many real world problems. In this paper, tree architectures of fuzzy neural networks are considered to predict the output power. Tree architectures of fuzzy neural networks have an advantage of reducing the number of rules by selecting fuzzy neurons as nodes and relevant inputs as leaves optimally. For the optimization of the networks, two-step optimization method is used. Genetic algorithms optimize the binary structure of the networks by selecting the nodes and leaves as binary, and followed by random signal-based learning further refines the optimized binary connections in the unit interval. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, combined cycle power plant dataset obtained from the UCI Machine Learning Repository Database is considered.

A Design of Constructing Diagram Repository for UML Diagram Tools (UML 다이어그램 도구를 위한 다이어그램 정보의 구축과 설계)

  • This paper presents a design of the Meta-Class Repository (MCR) which maintain syntactically analyzed and structured meta-class information from UML diagrams, and then proposes 'meta-class,' also known as super-class, to construct structured information analyzed syntactically. The MCR is a collection of these meta-classes which contains the information extracted from diagrams. This paper also presents a design of the Code Generation Engine (CGE) which roles generating codes corresponding classes from UML diagrams based on the MCR maintaining a collection of meta-classes which is syntactically-analyzed and constructed in previous process. The logics of CGE are designed to generate codes collaborated with MCR and CGE with integration. The logics of CGE mechanism is presented with the form of finite state machine to present the algorithms of code generation formally and have the advantages of simplicity and easiness in development.
