.It is very importaut to know the water consumption of crops in planning irrigation works and practicing suitable soil moisture management. For the purpose of making it clear that how much water be consumed to cultivate the Chinese cabbage, Chamber method has been applied. Main equipments in the transpiration chamber are flowers, manometer and electric thermograph. The chamber made of vynyl plate has a small entrance at the base and an exit at the top, and the ventilation in the chamber was carried out by a flower through the entrance and exit. Air-flow adjusted by an orifice manometer enters the chamber from the outside over the crop canopy through the pipe like a chimney and finally goes out to the outside. Two sets which consist of a pair of dry and wet bulb made by thermistor are installed in the entrance and exit tube, and record air temperature automatically. Evapotranspiration amount is computed from the air-flow quantity and difference in absolute humidity between at the entrance and exit of the chamber by the following equation: ET=(X2-X1)${\times}$Q where ET=evapotranspiration amount X1=absolute humidity at the entrance(g/㎥) X2=absolute humidity at the exit(g/㎥) Q=air-flow quantity(㎥) This study was carried out at the upland farm of the Institute of Agriculture Engimeering and Utilization, Suwon, Korea. from 1971 to 1973. The results obtained in this experiment are as follows: 1. The total amount of evapotranspiration of Chinese Cabbage that is cultivated in autumn is 408.1mm during growth period. 2. Chinese cabbage rapidly grows up in the second ten days of September, 40th to 50th days after seeding. At the same time, the maximum amount of evaportranspiration of Chinese cabbage is 61.6mm/10 days 3. The correlation between Pan-evaporation and evapotranspiration is high, coefficient of correlation r=0.88**, and can be shown as The following regression equation: ET=0.913E+20.273 4. Evapotranspiration is closely related with meteorological factors: r=0.85**, for insolation, r=0.76** for air temperature, respectively. 5. The percentage of evapotranspiration amount, at the beginning of growth stage, gradually increases in proportion as the Chinese Cabbage grows but is largely affected by meteorological factors after the green cover formation. 6. By Blaney and Griddle formula, evaportranspiration coefficient "K" are within from 0,85 to 1.27.

In this paper the effects of the length of carbon fiber on the wear properties of carboni carbon composites were investigated. Carbon/carbon composites were fabricated by the liquid impregnation method using the resol-type phenolic resin as a matrix precursor and PAN-based, non-surface treated carbon fiber as a reinforcement. The measured values of the friction coefficient of carbon/carbon composites against AlSl 304 stainless steel ranged from 0.2 to 0.3 under the operating condition used in this study. The effect of the length of carbon fiber on the friction coefficient of carbon/carbon composites were not found. But, it was realized that the wear rate of carbon/carbon composites tends to increase, as the length of carbon fiber increases.

The canals of China·Northern Europe are different from those of Korea in the phases of the times and physical environment as follows. As the coefficient of river regime is high and the slopes of river is high in our country, the sediments are much deposited on the floor and river channels are meandered and the depth of water are low. So we should dredge the river floor and should construct the dams and lock gates. These will cause streams to be late and to be flooded. The rising and falling of groundwater tables may be fatal to the buildings. The ecosystem will be ruined by water pollution and rising of water levels. We are concerned about the economy of the canals, the low velocity of the canals, reduction of the transportation cost, transshipment cost and terminal cost, tourism·leisure-typed waterway and extreme cost of waterway development. It is proper for us to put in good order and control waterway simply by means of annual schedule, not to construct canal.

In this paper, the potential ground motion in terms of the peak ground accelerations(PGAs) due to long-distance Sumatra earthquakes is investigated for Singapore, following the probabilistic seismic hazard assessment a, pp.oach. The case investigated differs from a conventional one, in that few attenuation equations for long-distance major earthquakes are readily available. The attenuation relationships developed for other regions of the world are thus reviewed. It is found that the existing attenuation equations, when extrapolated to distant major earthquakes, tend to underestimate the PGAs. By comparing with the PGAs recorded over long distances at stations of the Japanese Meteorological Agency for major earthquakes in Japan, an attenuation equation is chosen for this study. With the chosen attenuation equation, the probability of PGAs exceeding selected levels for various exposure periods of time is then computed. The results show that at Singapore there is a 10% probability in 50 years for the PGA at rock sites to exceed 1.1% g. In view of the results and the associated uncertainties, a base shear coefficient of 1.5% is being recommended as the tentative seismic loading in Singapore. The tentative seismic loading reflects the design value of the notional horizontal load, equal to 1.5% of the characteristic building weigh as specified in the BS code, which usualy governs the design of most buildings in Singapors.
This paper represents the experimental identification of a finite-dimensional dynamical plant model for the HEMIRE Remotely Operated Vehicle. The experiments were conducted during sea trials in the East Sea in October 2006 and peer testing by the South Sea Research Institute in January 2007. A least-squares method was employed to identify decoupled single degree-of-freedom plant dynamical models for the X, Y, Z and heading degree-of-freedom from experimental data. The performance of the identified plant dynamical model was evaluated by directly comparing simulations of the identified plant model to the experimentally observed motion data from the actual vehicle.

The Objectives of this paper were to develop a modified tank model that is capable of simulating daily streamflow from a small watershed using daily watershed evapotranspiration and to test the applicability of the model to different watersheds. Tank model was restructured to consist of three series of tanks, each of which may mathematically reflect watershed runoff mechanisms from different components of surface runoff, interflow, and baseflow. And pan evaporation was correlated to potential evapotranspiration estimated from a combination method, and was multiplied by monthly crop and landuse coefficients, and watershed storage coefficient to estimate the watershed evapotranspiration losses. Ten watersheds were selected to calibrate model parameters that were defined using an optimization scheme, and the results were correlated with watershed parameters. Simulated daily runoff was compared to the observed ones from the tested watersheds. The simulating results were in good agreement with the observed values when optimal and calibrated parameters were used. Ungaged conditions were also applied to compare simulated values to the observed. And the results were in fair conditions for all the tested watersheds which differ considerably in their sizes, landuse types, and physiological features.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to measure the characteristics of the perceived quality of college students of 20s which is the main customers of whitening, and to investigate the customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions according to the perceived quality of whitening. Research design, data and methodology - The interviewers in the research are 300 college students in Seoul and the metropolitan area. They were collected from October 1 to October 24, 2013. 283 of collected questionnaires were used for the analysis. The analysis in the general characteristics of the subjects was analyzed by frequency analysis. With five-dimensional factor analysis, the perceived quality through reliability analysis was investigated and verified. Results - The results from analysis of the standardized coefficient Beta value were performance(0.382), brand (0.339), and price (0.318) as a high level. On the other hand, services(0.172) and design factors (0.162) were relatively low. Conclusion - Looking for these results, this study could reach the notion that a lot of consumers with whitening cosmetics highly recognized brand, performance, and price factors, but the service and design factors were relatively recognized low in customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions.

Polymer nanocomposite has been attracting more attention as a new insulation material because homogeneous dispersion of nano-sized inorganic fillers can improve various properties significantly. In this paper, various kinds of epoxy-based nanocomposites were made, and the AC breakdown strengths of Nano filler and micro-$SiO_2$ filler mixtures of epoxy-based composites were analyzed using sphere-to-sphere electrodes. Moreover, nano- and microfiller combinations were investigated as an approach to practical application of nanocomposite insulation materials. Its composition ratio was 100 (resin):82 (hardener):1.5 (accelerator). AC breakdown tests were performed at room temperature ($25^{\circ}C$), $80^{\circ}C$, and $100^{\circ}C$ in the vicinity of $T_g$ ($90^{\circ}C$). Thermal conductivity was measured using TC-30.

In this paper we proposed a dada-aided Doppler estimation method for underwater acoustic communication. The training sequence is non-dedicate, hence it can be designed for Doppler estimation as well as channel equalization. We assume the channel has been equalized and consider only flat-fading channel. First, based on the training symbols the theoretical received sequence is composed. Next the least square principle is applied to build the objective function, which minimizes the error between the composed and the actual received signal. Then an iterative approach is applied to solve the least square problem. The proposed approach involves an outer loop and inner loop, which resolve the channel gain and Doppler coefficient, respectively. The theoretical performance bound, i.e. the Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) of estimation is also derived. Computer simulations results show that the proposed algorithm achieves the CRLB in medium to high SNR cases.
Prefabricated reinforced-concrete shear walls are used extensively in building structures because they are convenient to construct and environmentally sustainable. To make large walls easier to transport, they are divided into smaller segments and then assembled at the construction site using a variety of connection methods. The present paper proposes a precast shear wall assembled using steel shear keys, wherein the shear keys are fixed on the embedded steel plates of adjacent wall segments by combined plug and fillet welding. The anchoring strength of shear keys is known to affect the mechanical properties of the wall segments. Loading tests were therefore performed to observe the behavior of precast shear wall specimens with different anchoring components for shear keys. The specimen with insufficient strength of anchoring components was found to have reduced stiffness and lateral resistance. Conversely, an extremely high anchoring strength led to a short-column effect at the base of the wall segments and low deformation ability. Finally, for practical engineering purposes, a design approach involving the safety coefficient of anchoring components for steel shear keys is suggested.
