An Evaluation of the Statistical Techniques Used in the 1995-2007 Editions of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (한국한의학연구원 논문집에 사용된 통계기법의 평가)

  • Background and Purpose : The purpose of this study was done to investigate what kinds of statistical techniques have been used to analyze data from oriental medicine research Methods : 135 original articles which used statistical techniques in their data analysis were selected from the articles published in The Journal of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine(JKIOM) between 1995 to 2007. Results : Among 135 articles, 59 articles used descriptive statistics while 76 articles used inferential statistics for data analysis. For that 76 articles, two-sample t-test(33 articles), analysis of variance(29 articles), regression(9 articles), chi-square test(5 articles), nonparametic test(4 articles), Fisher's exact test(3 articles), and other test(9 articles) were chosen to analyze the data. SAS and SPSS statistical softwares(82.50%) were mostly used to analyze the data. Nonparametic tests were used to 4 articles(6.97%) of 67 articles and parametic tests were used to 63 articles(93.03%) of 67 articles. Among 29 articles used analysis of variance, duncan(8 articles), dunnet(4 articles), bonferroni(4 articles), turkey(3 articles), scheff(1 article) were used to do multiple comparison. 9 articles did not carry out the multiple comparison. Conclusions : It was found that the frequencies of statistical package used and statistical analysis used were not much by now. High level statistical analyses were not used most for oriental medicine research.

A Study of Practical Training Anxiety, Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy, and Career Decision Level of Students Majoring in Language Rehabilitation in College (전문대학교 언어재활과 학생들의 실습 불안과 진로 결정 자기 효능감 및 진로결정 수준 인식에 대한 연구)

  • This study used three types of survey, an anxiety for practice, a career decision making self-efficacy, and a career decision level for students majoring in language rehabilitation in college in order to provide an effective guide for practice and career decision. By using 18.0 SPSS statistic package, the data has examined with Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test and Bonferroni test based on student's grade, academic record and practice duration. The result of study is as follows. First, based on grade, students showed significant differences on several subfactors of the anxiety for practice and the level of career decision-making. Second, based on an academic point and practice duration, there were significantly different in several subfactors of the anxiety for practice, the career decision-making self efficacy, the career decision level. Consequently grade, academic record and practice duration influenced student's conception for practice and career.

The analysis on general characteristics and awareness of first aid of scuba diver

  • In this paper, we propose a study on awareness of first aid of scuba diver. In order to achieve this purpose, a total of 310 customers over the age of 20 were selected as study participants form diving pools and dive resort in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Gyeongsang province area using the convenience sampling method However, only data from 295 customers were used after screening the data for reliability. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire, and descriptive statistics, inter-item consistency reliability, pearson chi-square test were conducted on the data using the SPSS 21.0 version statistical package program. The followings are the results: The level differ significantly according hemorrhage, abrasion, sprain, fracture, fever, arrest, airway obstruction. As a result of analyzing the difference of first aid recognition according to the level of scuba diver, we found bleeding patients, abrasions, sprains, fractures, high heat exposure patients, cardiac arrest patients. There was a statistically significant difference in the level of airway obstruction due to food.

A Test of the Psychological Distance Effect for Online Travel Reviews Based on Construal-Level Theory

  • This study's objective is to use the construal-level theory (CLT) to explore the effect of the utility of online travel reviews on tourists' perception. To accomplish this goal, online travel reviews are divided into two different categories based on concreteness, and the usefulness of each review is compared with the temporal dimension of psychological distance. The results show that close future tourists are more influenced by concrete reviews than abstract reviews; however, the far future tourists are more influenced by abstract reviews than concrete reviews. Based on these results, theoretical and practical implications are discussed, and suggestions are made for future research.

A Study on the Pattern of Shopping, the Level of Customers' Cognition and the Level of Satisfaction for Foods Sold in "24-Hour Market Store" in Taegu City (편의점 이용객의 식품이용실태 및 인식과 만족에 관한 연구 -대구시내 편의점을 중 심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the level of customers' cognition, the patterns of shopping and the level of satisfaction for foods sold in "24-hour market stor", and thus to provide a guideling for establishment of 24-hour market store", and thus to provide a guideline for establishment of 24-hour market store, development of Korean-style food, and enhancement of desirable habit of eating. The study conducted a survey for the young customers (13-19 years old) and the old customers (20-38 years old), the residents in Tague City, for the period Sept. 1-Sept.30. The survey administered to a total of 700 respondents, and finally received 646 ansers. Data analysis incorporates Chi-square test, univariate analysis, Scheffe's test, and correlation analysis, running SPSS Pc+(Statistical Package for Social Science). The results were drawn as follows: In terms of the level of cognition, results show a high level in the aspects of availability, convenience, time-saving in cooking, a variety of goods, easy custody: a medium level in the aspects of taste and sanitation: a low level in the aspects of cheapness and import of foreign food, In terms of customers' shopping patterns, the results show that the respondents answered the most convenience in 24-hour open and nearby location. Shopping was mostly done during the evening time between 18:00 and 22:00, and frequently during the mid-night time. Most of the residents needed a high level in the price. in terms of the level of customers' satisfaction, the results show a high level in the aspects of convenience, packing, and variety ; a medium level in the aspects of taste and sanitation ; a low level in the aspects of nutrition, price, import of foreign goods.

  • This study was aimed to identify a study on risk perception and safety knowledge and awareness of scuba diver. Purchase Satisfaction of Apparel for Internet Fashion Shopping Mall Users - focused on 20's~30's Men and Women (인터넷 패션 쇼핑몰 이용자의 의류구매 만족도 -20~30대 남녀를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest marketing strategies to internet fashion shopping malls identifying factors that customers consider important. Data were collected by survey questionnaire and the subjects were 322 men and women in their twenties and thirties living in Seoul and Kyung-gi. SPSS 10.0 package were used and reliability, frequency, cross tabulation, chi-square, paired t-test, ANOV A and Duncan test were conducted for data analysis. The results were as follows. I) Subjects placed the most importance on providing the precise and detail information of products but its satisfaction level was low. 2) Subjects considered the ‘low price’ very importantly but its satisfaction level of it was not high. 3) Subject's importance and satisfaction level of ‘point system’ were about an average. 'Point system' has to be activated by using systems such as 'point network system' by pointbanking co. as one of price-cutting strategies. 4) Internet fashion shopping mall users treated 'the security system of personal data' importantly while they were not sufficiently satisfied with the system. 5) Female placed more importance on design and color of products and suppliance of the trendy items.

Apparel purchase behavior among internet shoppers -Focusing on perceived risks- (인터넷 쇼핑몰에서의 의류제품 구매행동에 관한 연구 -위험지각을 중심으로-)

  • The objectives of the study were to examine apparel purchasing behavior in internet shopping malls and the level of perceived risk when internet users purchase online. For this research, 15,000 internet users were given questionaries via E-mail, or special website online. The sum of 1958 questionaries were used for statistical analyses. Using, SAS package, factor analysis, Crobach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, $\chi$$^2$-test, frequency and multi-response analysis were performed. As the results, 19% out of internet users had bought apparel products through internet shopping malls. Men had more purchasing experiences in apparels as well as general products than women. Among apparel products, T-shirts/shirts were purchased the most by internet shoppers. For perceived risks, 6 factors(quality risk, time/convenience risk, size and appearance risk, privacy risk and social/psychological risk) were investigated for this study. The level of perceived risk was lower when people had a purchasing experience in internet shopping mall than when they didn't. The level of perceived risk was lower when people had purchasing intend about apparels than when they didn't. Based on these results, marketing strategies will be suggested.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the level of latest fashion adoption of men's wear manufacturers and differences in the level of fashion adoption according to characteristics of brands and merchandise. Thus, this study was to be an exploratory study to examine the trends in fashion adoption of men's wear manufacturers. The questionnaire consisted of questions on 7 elements of fashion adoption and characteristics of men's wear manufacturers and their merchandise. The subjects were to evaluate their level of fashion adoption and rated on 5 point Likert-type scales of 7 elements. For the survey, the subjects were 100 employees (62 merchandisers, and 24 designers, etc.) who are employed by men’s wear manufacturers which have national brands, designer brands, license brands, import brands or private brands. The SAS PC+ package was used to calculate factor analysis, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test, and Tukey's test. The results from the study were as follows: 1) The elements of fashion adoption of men's wear manufacturers were divided into 4 factors (clolr/fabric, silhouette/fashion image, detail/item coordination, accessories) which explained 83.61% of the whole of factors. 2) The highest score of mean of fashion adoption factors was fabric/color, but the lowest was accessory factor. 3) There were significant positive correlations between fashion adoption factors except between fabric/color and accessories. 4) There were significant differences in the level of fashion adoption according to types of brands and ages of target consumers. 5) There were significant differences in the level of fashion adoption according to the categories of apparel (suits vs. casual clothing) and types of suits and casual wear.
