PZT를 이용한 광 정보저장기기용 엑츄에이터의 추적제어 (Track following control of optical pick-up actuator using PZT)

  • This paper proposes a swing-arm type dual-stage actuator, which consists of a PZT actuator for fine motion and a VCM(Voice Coil Motor) for coarse motion, for SFF ODD(Small Form Factor Optical Disk Drive), in order to achieve fast access speed and precise track following control. We focus our attention on the design and control of the PZT actuator, because there have been a lot of previous researches related to the VCM and dual-stage actuators. Due to the dual cantilever structure, the PZT actuator can generate precise translational tracking motion at its tip where optical pickup is attached at, and the effect of hysteric behavior of the PZT element is reduced. The dynamic model of the PZT actuator is derived by using the Hamilton's principle, and verified by comparing with the experimental frequency response. The sliding mode control is designed in order to be robust against modeling uncertainties. Simulations and experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the suggested control scheme.

강성제어 구조물을 이용한 수평구동형 박막 PZT 엑츄에이터의 설계, 제작 및 특성평가 (Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Lateral PZT actuator using Stiffness Control)

  • We present a piezoelectric actuator using stiffness control and stroke amplification mechanism in order to make large lateral displacement. In this work, we suggest stiffness control approach that generates lateral displacement by increasing the vertical stiffness and reducing the lateral stiffness using additional structure. In addition, an additional structure of a serpentine spring amplifies the lateral displacement like leverage structure. The suggested lateral PZT actuator (bellows actuator) consists of serpentine spring and PZT/electrode layer which is located at the edge of the serpentine spring. The edge of the serpentine spring prevents the vertical motion of PZT layer, while the other edge of the serpentine spring makes stroke amplification like leverage structure. We have determined dimensions of the bellows actuator using ANSYS simulation. Length, width and thickness of PZT layer are 135$\mu$m, 20$\mu$m and 0.4$\mu$m, respectively. Dimensions of the silicon serpentine spring are thickness of 25$\mu$m, length of 300$\mu$m, and width of 5$\mu$m. The bellows actuator has been fabricated by SOI wafer with 25$\mu$m-top silicon and 1$\mu$m-buried oxide layer. The bellows actuator shows the maximum 3.93$\pm$0.2$\mu$m lateral displacement at 16V with 1Hz sinusoidal voltage input. In the frequency response test, the fabricated bellows actuator showed consistent displacement from 1Hz to 1kHz at 10V. From experimental study, we found the bellows actuator using thin film PZT and silicon serpentine spring generated mainly laterally displacement not vertical displacement at 16V, and serpentine spring played role of stroke amplification.

  • In this study, we have investigated the micromachining of PZT to fabricate interdigitated electrodes of electro active material actuator using Nd:YAG laser We have observed groove shapes of PZT with changing beam power, scanning speed, gas, and so on to find optimum conditions of the laser processing for PZT grooves. As a result, this method has been applied to the laser micromachining for grooves in PZT surface, and we could have optimum parameters of Nd:YAG laser Finally it was shown that the laser micromachining of PZT can substitute fer bonding, etching and deposition processes in fabricating electro active material actuator embedded with interdigitated electrodes.

  • 본 논문에서는 RF 스위치의 엑추에이터로 사용하기 위한 수평구동형 박막형 PZT 엑추에이터의 설계, 제작 및 시험에 관한 것이다 기존의 RF 스위치들은 대부분 수직 방향의 접촉 방식을 채택하고 있고, 대부분 구조체가 두껍지 않은 막으로 이루어져 있어서, 엑추에이터로부터 힘을 충분히 전달받지 못한다. 이로 인해, 접촉력이 상대적으로 작게 되어, 접촉저항을 줄이기 위한 접촉압력을 내기 위해 접촉 면적을 줄일 수밖에 없게 된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 효과적인 힘의 전달이 가능한 수평방향의 접촉 방식과 상대적으로 큰 힘을 낼 수 있는 PZT 엑추에이터를 사용하고자 한다.(중략)

  • Thick PZT films are required for the cases of micro actuators and sensors with high driving force, high breakdown voltage and high sensitivity, and so on. In this work, thick PZT films were fabricated by Sol-Gel multi-coating method. Total 8 types of samples using thick PZT films with thicknesses, about $1{\mu}m$ and $2{\mu}m$, and Pt top electrodes shapes for measuring transverse piezoelectric coefficient ($e_{31,f}$) were fabricated using MEMS processes. They were characterized by fabricated e31,f measurement system before and after poling. $e_{31,f}$ values of samples after poling were higher than before poling. Those of $2{\mu}m$ thick PZT films were also higher than $1{\mu}m$ thick PZT films. And those with long electrodes as top electrodes were also higher than shorter.

마이크로 압전 엑츄에이터용 Sol-Gel PZT 박막의 두께 변화에 따른 특성 (Properties of Sol-Gel PZT Thin films with Thickness for Micro Piezoelectric Actuators)

  • Pb가 10% 과잉되고 Zr : Ti = 52 : 48 조성을 갖는 PZT sol이 Pt(3500Å)/Ti(400Å)/SiO₂(3000Å)Si(525㎛)기판 위에 스핀 코팅법으로 반복 코팅된 후, 450℃에서 10분, 650℃에서 2분간 반복 열처리되었다. 이와 같이 다양한 두께로 적층된 박막은 각 시편에 대해 최종적으로 650℃ 30분 동안 어닐링 처리되었다. 제조된 PZT 박막의 두께는 4100Å에서 1.75㎛사이의 4종이었다. 이어서 스퍼터링법으로 Pt전극이 PZT 막 위에 증착되었다. 제조된 PZT 박막의 결정 구조 조사를 위해 XRD, 그리고 미세 구조 및 전기적 특성을 알아보기 위해 FESEM과 P-E 이력 곡선이 각각 관찰되었다. 4100Å에서 1.75㎛까지 두께 증가에 따른 장비상의 포화 이력 한계로 잔류 분극(Pr)값이 25μC/㎠에서 다소 감소되었다. 측정된 X선 회절 결과에서 최초 4회 코팅시 perovskite 결정 구조로 성장한 결정립은 (111)배향이 우세하었으나, 두께가 증가됨에 따라 (111)/(110)값이 감소되었으며, 이를 통해 두께 증가에 따른 (111)배향성이 다소 감소됨을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과로부터 제조된 PZT 박막은 큰 힘과 높은 내전압 특성을 갖는 마이크로 압전 액츄에이터에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 생각되었다.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine precise linear motion and rotary motion. A six-degrees-of-freedom fine motion mechanism is introduced to drive an object precisely in directions of X, Y and Z-axes and around them : three rectangular linear motion and rotary ones. An experimental mechanism is introduced in which a $70$\times$70$\times$70$\times$(${mm}^3$) cube object is driven by six PZT actuator. The study is to establish the six-degrees-of-freedom fine motion mechanism of linear motion and rotary motion using PZT actuator.
