  • A new 3-phase line-interactive UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) system with parallel-series active power-line conditioning capability using AC line reactor and two four-leg PWM VSCs(Voltage Source Converters) was introduced recently, In this paper, the strategy of voltage control in suggested UPS system is explained. The objective of proposed voltage controllers in parallel(shunt) and series PWM VSC is to guarantee satisfactory characteristics in steady state and transient state.

  • 본 논문은 루엔버거 관측기를 이용하여 직류링크 전압을 추정하고 추정치와 측정치를 비교하여 전압센서의 고장을 진단하는 방법을 제안한다. 또한 전압센서 고장 시에 추정치를 이용하여 제어함으로써 전압센서 고장 허용제어가 가능함을 보인다. 제안된 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 타당성이 검증된다.

  • PWM 컨버터에서 직류출력전압의 빠른 응답을 위해 입력 및 출력의 전력평형개념을 시스템 모델링에 도입하는 것이 바람직하다. 이 경우 시스템은 비선형이 되며 제어기 설계가 용이하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 입출력 궤환선형화 기법을 응용하여 시스템의 비선형성을 제거하였으며 그 결과 빠른 전압응답특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 작은 용량의 전해커패시터를 사용하더라도 부하변동에 대해 직류출력전압을 일정하게 유지하는 것이 가능함을 보였다.

  • A new soft switched active snubber circuit is proposed to achieve zero voltage and zero current switching for all the switching devices in PWM DC-DC converters. The unique location of the snubber and inductor ensures low current/voltage stresses and commutation losses. With a saturable reactor, the conduction loss of auxiliary switch could be further minimized. A boost converter adopting this technique is presented as an example, to illuminate its operation principles and derive the design procedures. Simulation and hardware implementation have been made to validate its performance. Some other basic PWM DC-DC topologies using the proposed snubber have also been given.

  • This paper proposes a new zero-current transition (ZCT) pulse-width modulation (PWM) switch cell that overcomes the limitations of the conventional ZCT converters. The proposed ZCT cell provides zero-current-switching (ZCS) condition for the main switch and the auxiliary switch. The conduction loss and current stress of the main switch are minimized, since the circulating current for the soft switching does not flow through the main switch. The proposed ZCT PWM switch cell is suitable for the high power applications employing IGBTs. Design guidelines with a design example are described and verified by experimental results from the 1 kW prototype boost converter operating at 70kHz.

  • Thyristor rectifiers are still the preferred choice for large magnet power supplies. However, large harmonic voltages, resulting in large current ripple, and slow dynamic response are major drawbacks of these converters. Joos presented a topology and a control technique for a hybrid large-power high-precision magnet power supply in 1996. The system consists of a phase controlled rectifier (PCR) connected in series with a high-frequency PWM converter. This paper improves the power circuit of the PWM converter using interphase transformer. Simulation result proves effect of the proposed system.

  • Increasing the switching frquency is essential to achieve the high density of switched mode power supplies, but this leads to the increase of switching losses. A number of new soft switching converters have been presented ot reduce switching losses, but most of them may have some demerits, such as the increase of voltage/current stresses and high conduction losses. To overcome these problems, the ZVT-PWM converter has recently been presented. in this paper, the operation characteristics of the ZVT-PWM boost converter is analyzed, and the steady-states (DC) and small-signal model of this converter are derived and analyzed, and then the transfer functions of this converter are derived. The transfer functions of ZVT-PWM boost converter are similar to those of the conventional PWM boost converter, but the transfer characteristics are affecsted by te duty ratio and the switching frequency.

  • 본 논문은 PWM DC-DC 변환기의 입력 임피던스를 Middlebrook의 EET (Extra Element Theorem)를 사용하여 해석할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고, 이를 이용하여 실제로 전압 제어, 전류 제어 승압형 변환기에 대한 입력 임피던스를 해석하였다. 유도된 수식은 간략화, 근사화를 통하여 보드 선도 (Bode plot)화 하였고, 입력 임피던스 특성 및 전류 루프, 피드백/피드포워드 루프, 전압루프의 영향을 해석하였다. 또한 이론적 해석은 컴퓨터시뮬레이션 결과 및 실제 제작된 PWM DC-DC 변환기의 실험 결과로 비교, 검증하였다.

  • A novel zero voltage and zero current switching (ZVZCS) full bridge (FB) PWM converter is proposed. The new converter improves the drawbacks of the previously proposed ZVZCS FB PWM converters [1-5]. A simple auxiliary circuit with neither lossy components nor active switches achieves ZVZCS of the primary switches. Since the proposed converter has many advantages such as simple auxiliary circuit, high efficiency, and low voltage stress of the rectifier diode, it is very attractive for the high power applications. The principles of operation and design considerations are presented. The experimental verifications from 2.5kW prototype converter operating at 70kHz are presented.
