Comparison of Two Experimental Approaches to Test Temporal Storability of Reduced Sulfur Compounds in Whole Sampling Method (환원황화합물에 대한 용기채취법의 비교 연구)

  • In this study, storage stability of reduced sulfur compounds ($H_2S$, $CH_3SH$, DMS, $CS_2$, and DMDS) and $SO_2$ in sampling bags was investigated in terms of two contrasting storage approaches between forward (F) and reverse (R) direction. The samples for the F method were prepared at the same time and analyzed sequentially through time. In contrast, those of reverse (R) method were prepared sequentially in advance and analyzed all at once upon the preparation of the last sample. In addition, relative performance between two different bag materials (PVF and PEA) was also assessed by using 100 ppb standard. The response factors (RF) of gaseous RSC samples were determined by gas chromatography/pulsed flame photometric detector (GC/PFPD) combined with air server (AS)/thermal desorber (TD) system at storage intervals of 0, 1, and 3 days. There is no statistical difference in all RSCs between two storage methods. However, the results of relative recovery indicated 2.58~12.8% differences in compound type between the two storage methods. Moreover, loss rates and storage stability of $H_2S$ and $SO_2$ were considerably affected by bag materials than any other variables. Therefore, some considerations about storage methods (or bag material types) for sulfur compounds are needed if stored by sampling bag method.

A Study on the Ultrasonic Response Characteristic of PVDF Organic Thin Film by Physical Vapor Deposition Method (진공증착법으로 제조된 PVDF 유기박막의 초음파 응답 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to discuss the fabrication of $\beta$-PVDF($\beta$-Polyvinylidene fluoride, $\beta$-PVF2) organic thin films through the vapor deposition method and to investigate the ultrasonic response properties of the organic thin films produced. Vapor deposition was performed under the following conditions : the temperature of evaporator, the applied electric field and the pressure of reaction chamber were $270^{\circ}C$, 142.4 kV/cm and $2.0{\times}10^{-5}\;Torr$, respectively. The results showed that the degree of crystallinity increased from 47% to 67.8% with an increase in the substrate temperature. In the case of a sensor response characteristic by varying the distance from 1cm to 100cm, the output voltage decreased from 0.615V to 0.4V.

A Fuzzy Logic-Based False Report Detection Method in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 퍼지 로직 기반의 허위 보고서 탐지 기법)

  • Wireless sensor networks are comprised of sensor nodes with resource-constrained hardware. Nodes in the sensor network without adequate protection may be compromised by adversaries. Such compromised nodes are vulnerable to the attacks like false reports injection attacks and false data injection attacks on legitimate reports. In false report injection attacks, an adversary injects false report into the network with the goal of deceiving the sink or the depletion of the finite amount of energy in a battery powered network. In false data injection attacks on legitimate reports, the attacker may inject a false data for every legitimate report. To address such attacks, the probabilistic voting-based filtering scheme (PVFS) has been proposed by Li and Wu. However, each cluster head in PVFS needs additional transmission device. Therefore, this paper proposes a fuzzy logic-based false report detection method (FRD) to mitigate the threat of these attacks. FRD employs the statistical en-route filtering scheme as a basis and improves upon it. We demonstrate that FRD is efficient with respect to the security it provides, and allows a tradeoff between security and energy consumption, as shown in the simulation.

A Study on the Piezoelectric Sensor Response Characteristic of PVDF Organic Thin Film by Vapor Deposition Method (진공증착법으로 제조된 PVDF 유기박막의 압전 센서 응답 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to discuss the fabrication of $\beta$-PVDF($\beta$-Polyvinylidene fluoride, ${\beta}-PVF_2$) organic thin films through the vapor deposition method and to investigate the piezoelectric properties of the organic thin films produced. Vapor deposition was performed under the following conditions : the temperature of evaporator, the applied electric field and the pressure of reaction chamber were $270^{\circ}C$, 142.4 kV/cm and $2.0{\times}10^{-5}Torr$, respectively. The results showed that the amount of $\beta$-form PVDF increased from 72 % to 95.5 % with an increase in the substrate temperature. In the case of a sensor response characteristic by varying the force moment from $1.372{\times}10^{-5}N{\cdot}m$ to $39.2{\times}10^{-5}N{\cdot}m$, the output voltage increased from 1.39V to 7.04V.

Fuzzy Logic based Next Hop Node Selection Method for Energy Efficient PVFS in WSN (무선 센서 네트워크에서 확률적 투표 기반 여과 기법의 에너지 효율성을 위한 퍼지 로직 시스템 기반의 다음 이웃 노드 선택 기법)

  • Sensor nodes are easily compromised by attacker when which are divided in open environment. The attacker may inject false report and false vote attack through compromised sensor node. These attacks interrupt to transmission legitimate report or the energy of sensor node is exhausted. PVFS are proposed by Li and Wu for countermeasure in two attacks. The scheme use inefficiency to energy of sensor node as fixed report threshold and verification node. In this paper, our propose the next neighbor node selection scheme based on fuzzy logic system for energy improvement of PVFS. The parameter of fuzzy logic system are energy, hops, verification success count, CH select high the next neighbor node among neighbor nodes of two as deduction based on fuzzy logic system. In the experimental, our proposed scheme was improvement to energy of about 9% compare to PVFS.

A Study on the Electrical Characteristic of Organic Thin Film by Physical Vapor Deposition Method (진공증착법을 이용한 유기 박막의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to discuss the fabrication of $\beta$-PVDF($\beta$-Polyvinylidene fluoride, ${\beta}-PVF_2$) organic thin films using the vapor deposition method. Vapor deposition was performed under the following conditions: the temperature of evaporator, the applied electric field, and the pressure of reaction chamber were $270^{\circ}C$, 142.4 kV/cm, and $2.0{\times}10^{-5}\;Torr$, respectively. The molecular structure of the evaporated organic thin films were evaluated by a FT-IR. The results showed that the characteristic absorption peaks of $\beta$-form crystal increase from 72% to 95.5% with an increase in the substrate temperature. In the analysis of the electric characteristics, the abnormal increases in the relative dielectric constant and the dielectric loss factor in the regions of low frequency and high temperature are known to be caused by inclusion of impurity carriers in the PVDF organic thin films. In order to analyze quantitatively the abnormalities in the conductivity mechanism caused by ionic impurities, the product of the ion density and the mobility that affect the electrical property in polymeric insulators is analyzed. In the case of a specimen produced by varying the substrate temperature from $30^{\circ}C$ to $105^{\circ}C$, the product of mobility and the ion density decreased from $4.626{\times}10^8$ to $8.47{\times}10^7/V{\cdot}cm{\cdot}s$. This result suggests that the higher the substrate temperature is maintained, the better excluded the impurities are, and the more electrically stable material can be obtained.

Clinical Analysis of Reoperations on Prosthetic Valve Failur (인공심장판막 실패에 대한 재치환술의 임상적 고찰)

  • To evaluate risks, complications and mortality of reoperations on heart valve prosthesis, we reviewed clinical records of 53 patients who underwent reoperation because of prosthetic valve failure[PVF], from Jan 1959 through Jun. 1991. They had undergone 48 mitral, 10 aortic valve rereplacement Primary tissue failure was the main cause of reoperation : it occurred in 51 valves at a mean postoperative interval of 58 months. Calcification and collagen disruption of prosthesis were main causes of primary tissue failure in macro and micropathology, In 3 failing mechanical prostheses, paravalvular leak was in 2 cases, another one case had the thrombi at the hinge portion. If conditions such as emergency operation with or without endocarditis, thromboembolism and advanced NYHA functional class are prevented, we think that reoperative valve replacement has similar morbidity and mortality to initial valve replacement surgery. But our sturdy represents higher mortality [22.6%] because of late surgical intervention failing the prevention of conditions leading to myocardial damage. In conclusion if the tearing, calcification, and a new murmur were detected the early reoperation should be considered to increase late survival.

Photovoltaic Application in System Formwork Operations of High-rise Building Construction (초고층 시스템거푸집 공사의 태양광에너지 활용 방안 연구)

  • Recently, eco-friendly energy has been employed in diverse fields of industry in order to reduce environmental pollution and secure a new growth engine. In particular, practical applications of photovoltaic energy, such as building integrated photovoltaic systems, have been implemented to the construction industry based on the extensive interest in photovoltaic power as an unlimited and sustainable energy. While the construction of a high-rise building requires large amounts of energy, methods of reducing energy consumption in the construction phase have rarely been studied. Based on this motivation, the research proposes a photovoltaic based formwork system (PVFS), and then performs a design and feasibility analysis for its application to the construction of a high-rise building. Using a case study, the research implements various analyses, including area, position, and total allowable weight required by PVFS, and evaluates the influences of PVFS on the construction processes, as well as its economic feasibility. The proposed PVFS can be adopted to a real-world project in the near future, depending on the advancement of technology and economic feasibility. The results of this research will contribute to establishing a construction environment that promotes a reduction of energy consumption by using eco-friendly energy in the construction phase.
