  • Islanding phenomenon of utility-connected photovoltaic power conditioning systems(PV PCS) can cause a variety of problems and must be prevented. If the real and reactive power supplied by PV PCS are closely matched to those of load, islanding detection by passive methods becomes difficult. The active frequency drift(AFD) method, called the frequency bias method, enables islanding detection by forcing the frequency of the voltage in the islanding to drift up or down. In this paper, non-detection zone(NDZ) of AFD is analyzed for the islanding detection method of utility-connected PV PCS by the simulation software tool PSIM.

  • We already fabricated a proto-type HTS charging system with photovoltaic (PV) system and obtained design parameters for DC converter and HTS charging system. In order to develop the real scale charging system efficiently, we suggested a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller using a perturb and observe (P&O) MPPT algorithm for PV system. In this paper, we designed and simulated the MPPT controller for the real scale HTS charging system. As well as, the PV module has been analyzed by solving solar cell equivalent equations. The simulated and theoretical results presented here are being considered the next study which addresses the design and fabrication parameters.

  • The paper proposes a novel control algorithm for tracking maximum power of PV generation system.. The maximum power of PV array is determinated by a insolation and temperature. Prior considered the term in PV generation system is how maximum power point(MPP) is accurately tracked.. The paper proposes a fuzzy neural network(FNN) control algorithm so as to accurately track those maximum power points. The proposed control algorithm comprises the antecedence part of fuzzy rule and clustering method, multi-layer neural network in the consequent part. FNN has the advantages which are depicted both high performance and robustness in fuzzy control and high adaptive control in neural network.. Specially, it can show the outstanding control performance for parameter variations appling to non-linear character of PV array. In this paper, the tracking speed and the accuracy prove the validity through comparing a proposed algorithm with a conventional one.

  • The global photovoltaic(PV) market is increasing at an annual rate of about $30\%$. A major share of the market has been taken up by building integrated photovoltaic. This paper presents an overview about status of the PV distribution programs for appling to building in the domestic and Japan, USA and Europe which have been playing a leading part in photovoltaic industry. From the results of this paper, we will intend to suggest a suitable future course for domestic PV distribution.

  • This paper presents the results of a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system modeling that contain incremental conductance MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller by PSCAD/EMTDC simulator and investigates the influence that tan occur in the grid-connected PV system from aspect of power quality, i.e. voltage drop, total harmonic distortion(THD) and total demand distortion(TDD). The measured data the PV array modeling of PSCAD/EMTDC in Cheongwadae, Seoul, Korea is used in the paper.

  • BIPV(Building Integrated PV) system can expect dual effects that reduce expenses for establishment of PV system by adding new function as outer covering material of building expect producing the electricity. But, there are many generation differences according to the exterior environmental facts(solar cell away, design and installation condition of interactive inverter system) Therefore, it is difficult to optimum design. Consequently in advance design system, we experiment 3kW BIPV(Building Integrated PV) generation. We concrete PV system efficient application of variable. BIPV system that is proposed in this paper, was established in Solar Energy research center of Chosun University, composed with system. This research is a basic study for application of building integrated photovoltaic system for builing.

  • The government plans to deploy 100,000 photovoltaic system in residential houses by 2012. In this paper, I described how to design the Residence PV System and how to simulated which predict the efficiency of its electrical generation. AS comparing the simulated data and actual installed 3kW photovoltaic power generation system. I analyze the condition of the Residence PV system and suggest the best way to design in best condition.

  • Maximum power point tracking(MPPT) techniques are used in photovoltaic systems to maximize the PV array output power by tracking continuously the maximum power point which depends on panels temperature and on irradiance conditions. This paper proposes a variable step size MPPT algorithm which can improve the MPPT speed and accuracy. Depending on insolation and temperature, the MPPT controller gives optimized step size. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified thorough PSIM simulation and experiments on a 50[W] prototype. The experimental results confirm that the PV power of the improved P&O method is higher than that of the traditional P&O method.

  • This paper presents a novel single converter and single inverter (1Con-1Inv) topology for photovoltaic (PV)-fuel cell (FC) hybrid system and a new control scheme for the PV-FC hybrid system is then proposed. The new topology and the unique algorithm can minimize volume and production cost of the hybrid system. Moreover, system efficiency can improve due to reduction of losses of hardware components and other control factors are well regulated using just 1Con-1Inv with the help of the proposed control algorithm. The validity of proposed algorithm is verified both computer simulation using PSIM and Matlab/Simulink program and experimental with 700W of PV and 600W of FC system.

  • Amid the booming research on new and renewable energy, the photovoltaic(PV) industry has been growing around the PV advanced countries such as Japan, Germany, Europe and USA. In recent years, China became a strong performer in the world PV market share, increasing solar cell production rapidly. Both world solar cell and module production and installation rose steadily in 2006 like recent bumper years. In 2006, the PV industry produced 2.54GW, representing growth of 40percent over the previous year, and the installations reached a record high of 1,744MW.
