A PSpice Modeling of PFC Circuit Using Soft-Switched Boost Converter

  • Single-phase and three-phase AC to DC power converters are becoming frequently used for high voltage/high power applications such as telecommunications. They often require input/output transformer isolation for safety, a unity input power factor for minimum reactive power, free input harmonic currents fed back to the AC Power distribution system and, finally, high efficiency and high power density for minimum weight and volume. The proposed boost converter for power factor correction (PFC) provides an unity input power factor, low harmonic distortion and high efficiency along with reduced volume and weight. Single-phase 220VAC input/380VDC 1KW output prototype is constructed and experimental results will be verified with those of PSpice simulation.

  • In this paper, we realize the active PFC(Power Factor Correction) system of the BF(Boost Forward) converter with the PWM-PFM control technique to control DC output voltage, to rermve the noise like hanronics at the output voltage, amd to control the input ClUTent with sinusoidal wave synchronized by the source voltage. We take the simulation and analyze the switching signal of the BF converter, input/output voltage and current, its harmonics and power factor through PSpice. And it has bren obtained harmonic reduction and efficiency improverrent.errent.

  • In this paper, we introduce embedding drive synchronigation method using SC-CNN. SC-CNN provide us a good method to separate interconnected state variables of a system respectively and to make it possible to change current component to voltage component in the state variables. Using this advantage, We suggest another synchronization method called Embedding Drive Synchronization. Proposed Embedding Drive Synchronization change general drive synchronization method a little bit. we put transmitted signal between into the input of the state variables of the received part, not entirely replacing it. and we showed it proved.

  • 본 논문에서는 Half Bridge Series Resonant Inverter 를 이용한 유도가열 시스템 설계를 하고 제작하여 구현하였다. 이러한 유도가열 시스템의 제작을 위해서는 공진탱크와 매칭 트랜스포머의 설계가 필수적이다. 따라서 이런 설계를 위해 Pspice 를 이용하여 공진탱크의 입력 임피던스 Bode Polt 을 그려 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 탱크회로를 설계 하였다. 매칭 트랜스포머의 설계는 출력 Power 와 1,2 차 회로 조건에 의해 설계 되어졌다. 이렇게 설계한 유도가열 시스템을 Pspice 를 이용해서 Simulation 함으로써 주파수에따른 출력 Power 의 변화를 볼수 있었으며, 유도가열 시스템을 실제 제작하여 구현함으로써 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Half Bridge Series Resonant Inverter를 이용한 유도가열 시스템 설계를 하고 제작하여 구현하였다. 이러한 유도가열 시스템의 제작을 위해서는 공진탱크와 매칭 트랜스포머의 설계가 필수적이다. 따라서 이런 설계를 위해 PSpice를 이용하여 공진탱크의 입력 임피던스 Bode Plot 을 그려 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 탱크회로를 설계 하였다. 매칭 트랜스포머의 설계는 출력 Power 와 1,2 차 회로 조건에 의해 설계 되어졌다. 이렇게 설계한 유도가열 시스템을 PSpice 를 이용해서 Simulation 함으로써 주파수에 따른 출력 Power의 변화를 볼 수 있었으며, 유도가열 시스템을 실제 제작하여 구현함으로써 확인하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to verify the appropriation of power electronics circuit by applying the most powerful and widely used simulator PSPICE and SIMULINK for adapted variable control technics. Power semiconductor macro modeled by SIMULINK such as DC motor and AC induction motor. Furthermore DC motor & AC induction motor are modeled by PSPICE through their algorithms. For proved these modelings accurate, simulation techniques which are generally used in the field of power electronics circuits are adapted in power electronics and systems

  • To prevent degradation of battery efficiency generated by serious current variation in rechargeable batteries, we researched a hybrid battery combining a super capacitor and a rechargeable battery. The hybrid battery shows high efficiency in a lifetime and a voltage drop. The hybrid battery was composed of a rechargeable battery, a current regulator and a super capacitor that can be used with supporting power. Before the experiment, the hybrid battery was simulated for current regulation and an electric current in a super capacitor by using the Pspice program. After that, we compared the efficiency of the hybrid battery with the efficiency of the normal battery. In this result, we demonstrated that the hybrid battery has a higher efficiency and a longer lifespan than the normal battery.

  • The process of designing protective circuits for signal lines usually consists of a time-consuming trial-and-error procedure, which also requires expensive equipment. However, computer simulation can drastically reduce the costs and time of design procedures based on experimental validation. In this study a gas arrester Pspice-model considering the response time characteristics is presented. The effects of various waveforms on the transient behaviors and firing voltages of a gas arrester were modeled by controlled voltage source E and TABLE function of PSpice, respectively. To estimate the characteristics of the gas arrester model proposed, three different voltage waveforms were used in the simulation and the measurement. The results of the computer simulation are in Rood agreement with the results of the experimental analysis.

Analysis of Output Pulse of High Voltage and Nanosecond Blumlein Pulse Generator

  • A high voltage and nanosecond Blumlein pulse generator has been developed to produce an output pulse whose voltage level is greater than 250 kV and pulse duration 5 ns. The generator consists of various components such as a charging circuit, a pulse transformer, and a spark gap switch. As a heart of the generator, a Blumlein pulse forming line has been constructed in the cylindrical form using three cylindrical aluminum electrodes that are placed concentrically. Unlike the ideal Blumlein line, the output pulse of an actual Blumlein line may be affected by stray inductances and capacitances of switching and charging components, thereby degrading the performance of the generator. In this paper, PSPICE simulations have been performed to examine effects of stray inductances and capacitances on waveforms of output pulses. Simulation results show that the pulse waveform is significantly distorted mainly by the stray inductance of the spark gap switch.

  • The Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) are being used in a variety of applications including portable power generation, transportation and back-up power systems. In this paper presents a novel circuit model for a PEMFC that can be used to design and analyze fuel-cell power system. The Pspice-based model uses BJTs, L and C elements available in the Pspice library with some modification. The model includes the phenomena like activation polarization, ohmic polarization and mass transport effect present in a PEM fuel cell. Simulated characteristics of the fuel cell were compared with the experimental results obtained on a commercial fuel cell.
