  • An estimating procedure is introduced for kernel Poisson regression when the input variables consist of numerical and categorical variables, which is based on the penalized negative log-likelihood and the component-wise product of two different types of kernel functions. The proposed procedure provides the estimates of the mean function of the response variables, where the canonical parameter is linearly and/or nonlinearly related to the input variables. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed kernel Poisson regression.

  • In [1], the concept of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on rings was introduced. In this paper, we introduce the concept of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Poisson Banach algebras and of generalizd (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Jordan Banach algebras, and prove the Cauchy-Rassias stability of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Poisson Banach algebras and of generalized (${\theta}$, ${\phi}$)-derivations on Jordan Banach algebras.

  • In queueing theory, polling systems have been widely studied as a way of serving several stations in cyclic order. In this paper we consider Markov-modulated Poisson process which is useful for approximating a superposition of heterogeneous arrivals. We derive the mean waiting time of each station in a polling system where the arrival process is modeled by a Markov-modulated Poisson process.

  • In this paper, we study the existence of infinitely many large energy solutions for the supercubic fractional Schrödinger-Poisson systems. We consider different superlinear growth assumptions on the non-linearity, starting from the well-know Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz type condition. We obtain three different existence results in this setting by using the Fountain Theorem, all these results extend some results for semelinear Schrödinger-Poisson systems to the nonlocal fractional setting.

  • Zellner(1994) introduced the notion of a balanced loss function in the context of a general liner model to reflect both goodness of fit and precision of estimation. We study the perspective of unifying a variety of results both frequentist and Bayesian from Poisson distributions. We show that frequentist and Bayesian results for balanced loss follow from and also imply related results for quadratic loss functions reflecting only precision of estimation. Several examples are given for Poisson distribution.

  • For the count response we normally consider Poisson regression model. However, the conventional fitting algorithm for Poisson regression model is not reliable at all when the response variable is measured with sizable contamination. In this study, we propose an alternative fitting algorithm that is resistant to outlying values in response and report a case study in semiconductor industry.

  • In the numerical analysis of incompressible unsteady Navier-stokes equation, large time is required for solving the pressure Poisson equation of the elliptic type at each time step. In this paper, a numerical analysis by the direct method is carried out to solve the pressure Poisson equation and the computing time is analyzed as mesh size increases. The pressure Poisson equation can be transformed to the boundary value problem by the Green theorem. The computing time for the convolution type of the domain integral can be reduced by using F.F.T. and the computing time in the direct method depends entirely on obtaining the solution of the boundary value problem. The numerical analysis on the known solutions is carried out and compared for the verification of the direct method. And the numerical analysis on the body boundary and domain decomposition problem are carried out with the computing time less than O($n^{3}$) in the (n.n) mesh.
