In this paper, we propose a new PN chip clock generator which employs two synchronous counters to achieve precise phase control of chip clock. In a CDMA code acquisition and tracking system, the PN chip clock is required to operate highly reliable without any glitch even under harsh environment condition such as temperature and voltage fluctu-aliens. The digital implementation of the proposed PN chip clock generator imparts it with much desired reliability. Since the proposed chip clock generator can be easily controlled into one of the states: free running, phase advance, and delay state, it can be applied to data processing as well as code synchronization. We have done FPGA implementation of the proposed logic and have verified its satisfactory operation up to 50 MHz.

A vehicle radar has been studied to avoid the collision of vehicles. A vehicle radar using direct sequence-ultra wideband (DS-UWB) measures the distance between a vehicle and an objective with a sufficient time margin. Therefore, the receiver should estimate the distance by processing the short UWB pulse rapidly. There have been several investigations for distance measuring based on DS-UWB signals. In this paper, we propose a novel method for rapid measuring processing time. Simulation results show that the proposed method has a shorter processing time than the conventional method.

This paper covers the detection of covert direct sequence spread spectrum signal without the PN(Pseudo Noise) code information. Due to its low probability of interception, the difficulty of spectrum surveillance increases. Detection parameters are the signal existence of given bandwidth, the length of spreading sequence used by transmitter, and the identification of spreading code for detected chip length. The triple correlation function(TCF) value which is one of the higher order statistical signal processing techniques can be used to detect spread spectrum signal without a prior knowledge, but, it has weakness that TCF results depend on the spread data sequence in actual application. This paper proposes the new scheme that not only overcomes the weakness but also presents better performance than the traditional TCF scheme. The performance comparison of conventional TCF with proposed technique shows that the triple correlation estimator(TCE) has better detection capability.

This paper presents acquisition algorithm and an improved detection technique for the DS/CDMA (direction sequence code division multiple access) RAKE receiver in multipath fading channel. The DS/CDMA systems use the RAKE receiver, an accurate code acquisition is required for the RAKE branches. The algorithmis able to findthe pseudonoise (PN) code delay estimates for the RAKE branches in a multipath fading channel. In this paper a numerical method and computer simulation simulation have been developed for the acquisition system. The detection probability and mean acquisition time are investigated asa performance measure of the system using the Monte Carlo method. And also in order to analyze the effect of the acquisition on the RAKE receiver this paper bring out the effect of integration time, doppler frequency, processing gain and the number of users on the acquired code phase.

In wireless spread-spectrum communication systems utilizing PN (pseudo noise) sequences, a variety of noise sources from the channel affect the data reception performance. Among them, in this paper we are concerned with the narrowband interference that may arise from the use of the spectral bands overlapped by the existing narrowband users or the intentional jammers as in military communication. The effect of this interference can be reduced to some extent at the receiver with the PN demodulation by processing gain. It is known, however, that when the interferers are strong, the reduction cannot be sufficient and thereby requiring the extra use of narrowband interference cancellers (NIC's) at the receivers. A class of adaptive NIC's are studied here based on different two cost functions. One is the chip mean-squared error (MSE) computed prior to the PN demodulation and used in the conventional cancellers. Since thses conventional cancellers should be operated at the chip rate, the computational requirements are enormous. The other is the symbol MSE computed after the PN demodulation in which case the weights of the NIC's can be updated at a lot lower symbol rate. To compare the performance of these NIC's, we derive a common measure of performance, i.e., the symbol MSE after the PN demodulation. The analytical results are verified by computer simulation. As a result, it is shown that the cancellation capability of the symbol-rate NIC's are similar or better than the conventional one while the computational complexity can be reduced a lot.
In this paper, we propose ultra-fast multimedia optical subscriber access network using optical frequency domain CDMA method in order to access the multimedia with multiple data rates. We numerically analyze the effects of spectral power distortion in the light source for the optical CDMA system modified PN codes and FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating)s. In the proposed multiple-rate multimedia access optical networks, the performances such as BER(Bit Error Rate) are the same for all data regardless of data rates in the case of the same number of simultaneous ONU. In the proposed ultra-fast multimedia optical subscriber access network, the performances for all data are much more improved than those in the conventional system.

This paper introduces PGD(Preprocessed Givens Downdating)and PHD(Preprocessed Hyperbolic Downdating) algorithms, wherein a multiple-row observation matrix $Z^T$ is factorized into a partial Cholesky factor Rz, such that $Z^T$ = $Q_zR_z, Q_zQ^T_z=I$, and then Rz is recursively downdated by using GD(Givens Downdating)and HD(Hyperbolic Dondating), respectively. Time complexities of PGD and PHD algorithms are $pn^2$ + $5n^3/6$ 및 $pn^2$+$n^3/3$ flops, respectively, if p$\geq$n, while those of the existing GD and HD are known to be $5pn^2/2$ and $2pn^2$ flops,, respectively. This concludes that the factorization of observation matrices, which we call preprocessing, would improve the overall performance of the downdating process. Benchmarks on the Sun SPARC/2 system also show that preprocessing would shorten the required downdating times compared to those of downdatings without preprocessing. Furthermore, benchmarks also show that PHD provides better performance than PGD.

In this paper, as a compatible software radio transmission system, Digital-Radio conversion system which can directly change the digital signal generated by the logic circuit into radio signal is proposed. By the vector synthesis method, the digital signals can change directly into radio signal. If such a circuit is realized, RF circuit and an antenna can be composed by the simple one device, and the radio is directly controlled and performed by the software processing which is the essence of software radio. This Digital-Radio conversion system of this paper give many number of communication channels being offered by PN code and offer a hardware design flexibility by digitization, therefore it decrease the percentage ratio of hardware of system and give a more flexible function of software basis. In this paper, the principle of digital to radio signal generation algorithm is explained and the performance characteristics of proposed algorithm is shown in time base by the computer simulation method.
In this paper, we propose optical subscriber access network to eliminate multiple access interference using 2 dimensional(D) optical frequency and time domain CDMA method. We have numerically analyzed the characteristics of proposed system. It is seen that the excess intensity noise is the major limiting factor to the system. Also it is seen that the number of simultaneous subscribers is four times as large as the conventional ID optical system under the same bit error ratio.

In this work we present a robust and fast approach to estimate 3D vehicle pose that can provide results under a specific traffic surveillance conditions. Such limitations are expressed by single fixed CCTV camera that is located relatively high above the ground, its pitch axes is parallel to the reference plane and the camera focus assumed to be known. The benefit of our framework that it does not require prior training, camera calibration and does not heavily rely on 3D model shape as most common technics do. Also it deals with a bad shape condition of the objects as we focused on low resolution surveillance scenes. Pose estimation task is presented as PnP problem to solve it we use well known "POSIT" algorithm [1]. In order to use this algorithm at least 4 non coplanar point's correspondence is required. To find such we propose a set of techniques based on model and scene geometry. Our framework can be applied in real time video sequence. Results for estimated vehicle pose are shown in real image scene.
