단일 채널 DPF의 PM 포집 모델링 및 모델 파라미터의 민감도 해석 (Rigorous Modeling of Single Channel DPF Filtration and Sensitivity Analysis of Important Model Parameters)

  • Prediction of diesel particulate filtration is typically made by virtue of modeling of particulate matter(PM) collection. The model is closed with filtration parameters reflecting all small scale phenomena associated with PM trapping, and these parameters are to be traced back by inversely analyzing large-scale empirical data-the pressure drop histories. Included are soot cake permeability, soot cake density, soot density in the porous filter wall, and percolation constant. In the present study, a series of single channel DPF experiment is conducted, pressure histories are inversely analyzed, and the essential filtration parameters are deducted by DPF filtration model formulated with non-linear description of soot cake regression. Sensitivity analyses of model parameters are also made. Results showed that filtration transients are significantly altered by the extent of percolation constant, and the soot density in the porous filter wall is controlling the filtration qualities in deep-bed filtration regime. In addition, effect of soot particle size on filtration quality is distinct in a period of soot cake regime.

  • The number of vehicles employing diesel engines is rapidly rising. Accompanying this trend, application of an after-treatment system is strictly required as a result of reinforced exhaust regulations. The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system is considered as the most efficient method to reduce particulate matter (PM), but the improvement of a regeneration performance at any engine operation point presents a considerable challenge by itself. Temperature, gas compostion and flow rate of exhaust gas are important parameters in DPF evaluation, especially regeneration process. Engine dynamometer and degment tester are generally used in DPF evaluation so far. But these test method couldn't reveal the effect of various parameters on real DPF, such as O2 concentration, amount of soot and exhaust gas temperature. This research has studied the possibility using dump combustor that used to take an approach lean premixed combustion in gas turbine for a DPF power and optimized. It is possible that utilize the system as DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) and SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction) assessments test as well as DPF evaluation

  • 세계적인 배출가스 규제의 강화와 함께 화석 연료의 매장량 감소와 유가 상승은 새로운 엔진 기술 개발을 촉진시켰다. 가솔린 직접 분사(GDI; Gasoline Direct Injection) 엔진은 연료를 직접 연소실에 공급하고 정밀한 연소제어를 통해 공연비가 희박한 혼합 상태에서도 연소가 가능하게 하였는데, 이러한 방식은 기존 포트 분사 엔진보다 연비와 출력을 모두 향상시킬 수 있다. 하지만 GDI엔진은 디젤 엔진의 경우와 마찬가지로 soot 발생률이 높아짐에 따라 입자상 물질의 배출이 증대되는 문제를 안고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해소하고자 본 연구에서는 가솔린 입자상 물질 필터(GPF; Gasoline Particulate Filter)를 개발하여 입자상 물질의 배출정도를 저감시키고자 하였다. 필터의 설계 효율에 따라 3가지의 Metal foam 필터와 단일 Metal fiber 필터를 실험에 적용하여 PM과 PN의 저감률을 비교하였다.

경유 중 황이 산화촉매 장착 디젤엔진의 입자상 물질에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Fuel Sulfer on Particulate Matter of Diesel Engine Equipped with Oxidation Catalyst)

  • The most desirable diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) should have the properties of oxidizing CO, HC and SOF effectively at low exhaust gas temperature while minimizing the formation of sulfate at high exhaust gas temperature. Precious metals such as platinum and palladium have been known to be sufficiently active for oxidizing SOF and also to have high activity for the oxidation of sulfur dioxide $(SO_2)$ to sulfur trioxide $(SO_3)$. There is a need to develop a highly selective catalyst which can promote the oxidation SOF efficiently, on the other hand, suppress the oxidation of $SO_2$. In this study, a Pt-V catalyst was prepared by impregnating platinum and vanadium onto a Ti-Si wash coated ceramic monolith substrate. A prepared Pt-V catalytic converter was installed on a heavy duty diesel engine and the effect of fuel sulfur on particulate matter (PM) of heavy duty diesel engine was measured. The effect of fuel sulfur on PM of Pt-V was also compared with that of a commercialized Pt catalyst currently being used in some of the heavy duty diesel engines in advanced countries. Only 1 $\sim$ 3% of sulfur in the diesel fuel was converted to sulfate in PM for the engine without catalyst, but almost 100% of sulfur conversion was achieved for the engine with Pt catalyst at maximum loading condition. In the case of Pt-V catalyst, there was no big difference in conversion with the base engine even at maximum loading condition. The reason of SOF increase according to the increase of suflate emission was identified as the washing off effect of bound water in sulfate.

미세먼지에 의한 안구질환 발병 연구 동향 (Recent Advances in Understanding the Mechanisms of Particulate Matter-mediated Ocular Diseases)

  • 대기오염은 더 이상 무시할 수 없는 심각한 건강 위험요소 중 하나로 여겨지고 있다. 미세먼지는 각종 생화학적 오염물질, 유기 화합물, 무기 화합물 및 중금속 등의 유해성분을 포함한 대기오염의 주요 구성 미립자 성분이다. 최근 여러 연구에서 미세먼지가 암, 심혈관질환, 호흡기질환 및 피부질환 등을 이환율과 관련이 있다고 밝혀져 있다. 그러나 눈이 대기 오염에 직접 노출되는 기관 중 하나임에도 불구하고, 미세먼지에 의한 눈의 영향 평가는 소수에 그치고 있다. 본 총설에서는 역학 및 임상 결과, 생체 내 및 생체 외 실험 결과를 바탕으로, 미세먼지 노출과 안구표면질환, 망막질환 및 녹내장 등의 안구질환의 발달 사이의 연관성을 제시하였다. 또한 미세먼지 노출이 산화적 스트레스, 염증반응, 자가포식 등을 통해 안구 표면질환을 야기할 수 있다는 사실을 제시하였다. 그러나 현재까지 미세먼지에 대한 대부분의 안구 영향 평가가 안구 표면질환에 국한되어 이루어지고 있으며, 후안부의 병리학적 발생 기전은 아직 밝혀져 있지 않다. 따라서, 미세먼지 노출에 대한 안구 영향 평가는 안구 표면을 포함하여 후안부에 대한 지속적인 역학, 임상 및 기초 연구가 수반되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

계절별 데이터와 농도별 데이터의 학습에 대한 LSTM 기반의 PM2.5 예측 모델 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of LSTM-based PM2.5 Prediction Model for Learning Seasonal and Concentration-specific Data)

  • 미세먼지에 대한 연구는 실시간으로 발전하고 있으며, 예측 모델의 정확도를 향상시키기 위해 다양한 방법이 연구되고 있다. 또한 미세먼지의 정확한 원인과 영향을 파악하기 위해 이러한 다양한 요소들을 고려하는 연구들이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 PM2.5와 상관성이 있는 데이터를 계절을 기준으로 구분하여 학습하는 예측 모델과 특정 농도를 기준으로 저농도와 고농도를 구분하여 학습하는 모델을 통해 예측 성능의 비교 및 분석을 진행하였다. 기상데이터와 대기오염 물질 데이터를 사용하였으며 PM2.5와 상관관계를 확인하여 학습 및 평가를 위한 데이터를 구성하였다. 계절별 예측 모델과 농도별 예측 모델은 LSTM으로 설계하였으며, 세부 파라미터는 하이퍼 파라미터 탐색을 통해 적용하였다. 예측 모델의 성능 평가는 정확도, RMSE, MAPE, 저농도와 고농도 구간에서의 정확도 그리고 AQI를 기준으로 4개의 범위에 대한 정확도로 진행하였다. 성능 평가 결과, 농도별 학습을 진행한 예측 모델이 AQI 기준 "나쁨" 구간의 정확도에서 91.02%의 정확도를 보였으며, 계절별 학습을 진행한 예측 모델보다 전반적으로 좋은 성능을 보였다.

서울시내 주거지역 미세먼지의 유전독성 영향 (Genotoxic Effect of Air-borne Particulate Matter in Residential Area of Seoul City)

  • Ambient air particulate matters are classified into two distinct modes in sire distribution, namely the coarse and fine particles. Correlation between high particulate concentration and adverse effect on human populations has long been recognized. However, the toxicology of these adverse efforts has not been clarified. We investigated the genotoxic effect of PM 2.5 collected from urban area in Seoul by comet assay (A549 cells), CBMN assay (CHO-K1 cells) and EROD-microbioassay (H4IIE cells). Results from in vitro micronucleus assay and comet assay showed that PM 2.5 samples collected from traffic area, residential area and indoor air induced chromosomal damage and DNA breakage in a non-cytotoxic dose. The complex mixture effect of these PM 2.5 extracts was quantified by EROD-microbioassay in terms of its bio-TEQ (biologiral -TCDD equivalent concentration) which was 70.87$\pm$28.07, 93.55$\pm$21.80 and 14.31 $\pm$ 1.10 ng/g-PM 2.5 in traffic area, residental area and indoor air samples, respectively. Conclusively, we suggested that PM 2.5 collected from traffic area and residential area contains CYPIA inducer and genotoxic materials.

플라즈마 이온 방식의 공기정화기를 이용한 돈사내 공기오염물질 저감 효과 (Reduction Effect of Airborne Pollutants in Pig Building by Air Cleaner Operated with Plasma Ion)

  • This field study was performed to evaluate the efficiency of a plasma ion-operated air cleaner in temporal reduction of airborne pollutants emitted from a pig housing facility. In the case of gaseous pollutants, the plasma ion air cleaner was not effective in reducing levels of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide, or sulfur dioxide (p>0.05). In the case of particulate pollutants, however, the air cleaner was effective in reducing levels of particulate matter ($PM_{2.5}$ and $PM_1$) by 79(${\pm}6.1$) and 78(${\pm}3.0$)%, respectively. Unlike the case of these fine particle fractions, the reduction of total suspended particles (TSP) and $PM_{10}$ following treatment was almost negligible. In the case of biological pollutants, the mean reduction efficiencies for airborne bacteria and fungi were relatively low at 22(${\pm}6.6$) and 25(${\pm}8.7$)%, respectively. Taken together, these results indicate that in terms of air pollutants released from this pig housing facility, the plasma ion air cleaner was primarily effective in reducing levels of $PM_{2.5}$ and $PM_1$.

  • Particulate Matter(PM) is one of the most critical pollutant which can cause a fatal disease if the human body inhales. Construction is the business that emits the most fugitive dust. It is therefore necessary to manage construction site. South korea government focuses on the fugitive dust control measures defined in regulation being implemented properly. However the number of civil complaints related to fugitive dust emitted from construction site is the most in korea. So it is necessary to check from the management system aspect. This paper compares and analyzes the fugitive dust management system which applied to the construction site of major cities in three countries, and finds out what needs to be supplemented by the domestic management system.
