In this study, pore-filled ion exchange membranes with low membrane resistance and high hydroxide ion conductivity was developed. To improve alkali durability, a porous substrate made of polytetrafluoroethylene was used, and a copolymer was prepared using monomers 2-(dimethyl amino) ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) and vinyl benzyl chloride (VBC) for pores. divinyl benzene (DVB) was used as the cross-linker, and ion exchange membranes were prepared for each cross-linking agent content to study the effect of the cross-linker content on DMAEMA-DVB and VBC-DMAEMA-DVB copolymers. As a result, chemical stability is improved by using a PTFE material substrate, and productivity can be increased by enabling fast photo polymerization at a low temperature by using a low-pressure UV lamp. To confirm the physical and chemical stability of the ion exchange membrane required for an anion exchange membrane fuel cell, tensile strength, and alkali resistance tests were conducted. As a result, as the cross-linking degree increased, the tensile strength increased by approximately 40 MPa, and finally, through the silver conductivity and alkali resistance tests, it was confirmed that the alkaline stability increased as the cross-linking agent increased.

In this study, the physical quality and microbial changes of ginseng sprout according to the pretreatment process and packaging container were evaluated to improve the storage properties of ginseng sprout produced in smart farm. Quality change during storage (10 days) according to pretreatment method (ascorbic acid, citric acid, peroxyacetic acid) and packaging container (expanded polystyrene (EP), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene + polyethylene + cast polypropylene (PP+PE+CPP)) was evaluated in terms of texture, viable cell count, water content, and color. As a result of comparison according to the type of pretreatment, the citric acid treatment group showed the lowest texture change and the effect on inhibition of bacterial growth. On the other hand, citric acid, which was most effective among pretreatments, was treated in all samples and then stored in 4 types of containers. Specially, the ginseng sprout in PP packaging container was not observed significant softening or color changes after 10 days storage, and the lowest changes in viable cell number. Therefore, this study was shown that citric acid treatment and use of PP packaging container are effective in increasing the shelf life of ginseng sprout.
Insects have been proposed as new protein sources for human nutrition, and protein availability is affected by insect characteristics. Fermentation can be used to obtain a variety of insect-based ingredients and products with unique properties, but its effect on protein availability is unknown. Fermented cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) powder consists mainly of protein, and its oral administration has been reported to improve hair growth in androgenetic alopecia. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the hair-promoting activity of fermented cricket powder in an animal model using male C57BL/6 mice (25-30 g). The abdominal hair of the mouse (2x2.5 cm) was gently removed, and the groups fed as follows: Intact controls (no cricket powder); cricket powder only; and fermented cricket powder only. Food was applied daily for 11 weeks. Observational and physical examinations were performed and the results of the different groups compared. The application of fermented cricket powder significantly (p<0.01) promoted hair growth compared to the intact controls. The C57BL/6 results confirmed increased growth after seven weeks when the proportion of anagen follicles had increased by about 125% and 120% in the control and cricket powder groups, respectively. In conclusion, fermented cricket powder can be seen as a promising alternative alopecia treatment because it promotes hair growth, and, given the powder's composition, trace elements such as amino acids may have contributed to these effects.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the active exercise program using sling on the pain and balance of total knee replacement patients. Subjects were 20 patients who received total knee replacement and are hospitalized, 10 patients in each group were randomly assigned to a group (CPM group) that applied only CPM (Continuous passive motion) and a group (CSG) that combined CPM with a active exercise program using sling. CG was performed CPM 5 days a week, CSG performed CPM 2 days a week and a active exercise program using sling 3 days a week, and each intervention was performed for 40 minutes a day for a total of 4 weeks. Pain was evaluated using VAS (Visual analog scale), and balance was measured using BT4 (Balance training 4) to measure C90 area, trace length, and Sway average velocity with eyes open and closed. As a result, there was a significant decrease in pain in both groups, and there was also a significant difference in the amount of change between groups. In balance, all variables except C90 of CG showed significant changes after intervention, and there was a significant difference between C90 and Vel with eyes closed in the amount of change between groups. Therefore, we believe that CPM and active exercise program using sling are effective interventions to reduce pain and improve balance in total knee replacement patients.
The outbreak of COVID-19 is facing a global crisis. Therefore, this study comprehensively reviews the risk perception, tourism attitude, and tourism intention of potential tourists in the COVID-19 situation. As a research finding, three factors were derived for tourism risk perception: physical risk, social risk, and performance risk. It is verified that social risk to be a significant factors affecting tourism attitude. Also, it proved that social risk, performance risk to be important factors affecting tourism intention. A t-test was conducted to examine the implications of demographic characteristics(gender, age, job) in the study. As a result of the analysis, it was found that potential tourists in their 20's age perceived social risk as more important than other age groups. In addition, potential tourists in their 20's showed more positive tourism attitudes than other age groups. As a result of analyzing differences according to job, it was found that the student group had higher social risk, tourism attitude, and tourism intention than other occupational groups. Based on the research results, it can help derive strategies to reduce tourists' perception of risk in special situations such as COVID-19 and contribute to academia.

Temperature of the Earth's surface is a crucial physical variable in understanding weather and atmospheric dynamics and in coping with extreme heat events that have a great impact on living organismsincluding humans. Thermalsensors on satellites have been a useful meansfor acquiring surface temperature information for wide areas on the globe, and thus characterization of its estimation uncertainty is of central importance for the utilization of the data. Among various factors that affect the estimation, the uncertainty caused by the algorithm itself has not been tested for the atmospheric environment of Korean vicinity. Thisstudy derivesthe uncertainty of the single-channel algorithm under the local atmospheric and oceanic conditions by using reanalysis data and buoy temperature data collected around Korea. Atmospheric profiles were retrieved from two types of reanalysis data, the fifth generation of European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis of the global climate and weather (ERA5) and Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications-2 (MERRA-2) to investigate the effect of reanalysis data. MODerate resolution atmospheric TRANsmission (MODTRAN) was used as a radiative transfer code for simulating top of atmosphere radiance and the atmospheric correction for the temperature estimation. Water temperatures used for MODTRAN simulations and uncertainty estimation for the single-channel algorithm were obtained from marine weather buoyslocated in seas around the Korean Peninsula. Experiment results showed that the uncertainty of the algorithm varies by the water vapor contents in the atmosphere and is around 0.35K in the driest atmosphere and 0.46K in overall, regardless of the reanalysis data type. The uncertainty increased roughly in a linear manner as total precipitable water increased.
PE piping, which has advantages in terms of construction convenience and economy, is widely used for underground burial in the domestic urban gas field. These PE pipes use squeeze-off in many sites to block gas flow during maintenance and repair work. Squeeze-off refers to a method of compressing a PE pipe to block fluid flow, and damage may occur due to the nature of construction in which the pipe is deformed by physical force. In order to prevent damage to PE pipes due to squeeze-off, the main points to be reflected in the squeeze-off operation procedures such as proper compression range, use pressure, and diameter were derived through damage assessment and confidential test according to the compression rate. The compression experiment for PE pipe damage assessment was conducted while changing the compression rate (20%~40%), the pressure of use (2.8 kPa, 25 kPa, 70 kPa), and the pipe diameters (63 mm, 90 mm, 110 mm). As a result of damage assessment according to the compression rate, damage occurred in pipes with compression rates of 45%(110mm) and 73%(63mm), which are for analyzing the effect of excessive compression. In addition, the leakage test was conducted using Ar(argon) during the squeeze-off, and as a result of the experiment, leakage occurred under the conditions of 70kPa and 110mm of pipe. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that squeeze-off for airtightness should be carried out in pipes within a range not exceeding 25 kPa and 90 mm pipes, and the appropriate compression rate to prevent damage to PE pipes is 30%.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is commonly used in sunscreen formulations to protect the skin surface and prevent the penetration of harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays by the physical scattering action of light. However, a disadvantage of using TiO2 is that it can cause white turbidity when used on skin due to its inactive mineral ingredient. In addition, when TiO2 particles are reduced to nanosize to eliminate opacity, they can increase the transmittance of visible light and reduce whitening, but may lead to serious skin problems, such as allergic inflammation. To overcome these issues, the bandgap of TiO2 was controlled by adjusting the amount of oxygen defect and nitrogen amount, resulting in color TiO2 tailored to the skin. This innovative technology can reduce the whitening phenomenon and effectively block blue light, which is known to cause skin aging by inducing active oxygen. The bandgap controlled TiO2 compounds proposed in this study are hypoallergenic, broad-spectrum, and environmentally friendly. Furthermore, these compounds have been shown to significantly enhance sun protection factor (SPF) of sunscreens, demonstrating their compatibility with blue light blocking products.
In this study, the acetaldehyde removal characteristics of activated carbon (AC) for air purifier filters were investigated using metal catalysts-impregnation and functional group-modification method. The AC with a high specific surface area(1700 m2/g) and micropores was prepared by KOH activation of coconut charcoal and the efficiency of catalyst and functional group immobilization was examined by varying the drying conditions within the pores after immersion. The physical properties of the prepared activated carbon were analyzed by BET, ICP, EA, and FT-IR, and the acetaldehyde adsorption performances were investigated using gas chromatography (GC) at various impregnation and modified conditions. As the concentration of impregnation solution increased, the amount of impregnated metal catalysts increased, while the specific surface area showed a decreasing trend. The adsorption tests of the metal catalyst-impregnated and functional group-modified activated carbons revealed that excellent adsorption performance in compositions MgO10@AC, CaO10@AC, EU10@AC, and H-U3N1@AC, respectively. The MgO10@AC, which showed the highest adsorption performance, had a breakthrough time of 533.8 minutes and adsorption capacity of 57.4 mg/g for acetaldehyde adsorption. It was found that the nano-sized MgO catalyst on the activated carbon improved the adsorption performance by interacting with carbonyl groups of acetaldehyde.
The purpose of this study was to examine the muscle activation in trunk and low-limbs muscle during squat exercise on various instability surface. 10 subject performed squat with 75% of 1 repetition maximum (1RM) on a stable floor, stability blue, stability black and BOSU. Electromyographic (EMG) activity was measured trunk muscle such as rectus abdomina (RA), external obliques (EO), internal obliques (IO), multifidus (MF), and low-limbs muscle such as gluteus maximus (GMA), gluteus medius (GME), biceps femoris (BF), rectus femoris (RF), vastus medialis oblique (VMO), vastus lateral oblique (VLO), medialis gastrocnemius (MG), lateral gastrocnemius (LG), soleus (SOL) and anterior tibia (AT) when ascending and descending squat phase. One-way ANOVA repeated measure with Sheffe used to compare the muscle activity on the stable and unstable surface. Squat with BOSU ball induces higher muscle activity of IO, MF, GMA and GME compared with stability and stability blue and blackduring descending motion. Squat with BOSU ball induces higher muscle activity of GMA compared with stability and stability blue and blackduring ascending motion. This results suggested that BOSU ball in the squat could be effective increasing of trunk stability and gluteal muscle activity. However, there was no difference of squat on low-limb muscle with or without instability.
