Purpose: The rapid change to an aging society generates an increase in the incidence of chronic diseases. Many chronic patients have been facing their illnesses without enough preparation. In order to solve these problems, we designed and tested a public healthcare service based on ubiquitous technology. Method: Telemedicine has emerged as new medical care system of chronic disease. However, public potential of its technology is difficult to know under current traditional health care system. In this work, we developed a Personal Digital Access (PDA) phone based healthcare system by trained visiting nurses for elderly patients. A field test was performed by SeongBuk Public Health Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea (ROK). Result: Surveys were generated to assess the effects of this system compared to conventional public health system. Findings of trials demonstrate that healthcare coordination enhanced by PDA phone technology is satisfactory to the patients and nurses compared to previous one because prompt responses arouse their recognition of health. Conclusion: Ubiquitous healthcare system applied to public health service proved to be efficient and time-saving to monitor and control the chronic illnesses of large population.

인터넷의 탈 중심적, 개방적인 특징과 이동통신의 이동성, 휴대성 그리고 인터넷과 이동통신의 양방향성 이라는 특징 및 장점들의 접목은 우리생활에 무선 인터넷을 탄생하게 하였으며, 생활에 많은 변화를 가져오게 되었다. 그러나 기존 유선상의 웹 기반인 시스템 관리 소프트웨어 솔루션들은 시간적, 공간적 제약과 오류사항에 대한 통보가 불확실하거나 신속한 지원요구 및 실시간 긴급조치가 어렵다는 문제점들을 갖는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 모바일 통신기기(휴대폰, PDA, Smart Phone, Webpad)를 이용하여 원격시스템을 관리 및 모니터링하고 실시간으로 원격지의 시스템을 제어할 수 있는 실시간 무선 원격제어 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 구현된 실시간 무선 원격제어 시스템은 모바일 장비를 이용하여 원격지 서버 관리 기능, 장애 및 이벤트 통보기능, 로그기록 기능, 인증기능 그리고 클라이언트 트랜잭션별 시스템 성능평가 기능 등을 제공한다.

The development of mobile communication technology is transforming the market of mobile communication devices, which is used to be merely for simple communication, into the one which offers features of personal digital assistant (PDA), fax communication and Internet access. Unlike a mobile phone which comes out as a complete package and whose functions cannot be changed, a smart phone can be upgraded by its user, adding or removing apps as he pleases. OS's of smart phones are iOS-based Apple, Google Android, Window Mobile, and others. Due to its convenience and powerful features, many people use smart phones its high price. On the other hand, consumer complaints are rising on poor A/S for occasional malfunction. This study analyzes how A/S cases can be classified into groups according to quality factors. We evaluate factors such as consumer impression and consumer satisfaction. By dual quality evaluation using KANO method, we would like to show the different A/S strategy for smart phones, compared with mobile phones.

Biomedical mobile devices for ubiquitous healthcare consist of biomedical sensors and communication terminal. They have two types of configuration. One is the sensor-network type device using wired or wireless communication with intelligent sensors to acquire biomedical data. The other is the sensor embedded type device, where the data can be acquired directly by itself. There are many examples of sensor network type, such as, fall detection sensor, blood glucose sensor, and ECG sensors networked with commercial PDA phone and commercial phone terminal for ubiquitous healthcare. On the other hand, sensor embedded type mounts blood glucose sensor, accelerometer, and etc. on commercial phone. However, to enable true ubiquitous healthcare, motion sensing is essential, because users go around anywhere and their signals should be measured and monitored, when they are affected by the motion. Therefore, in this paper, two biomedical mobile devices with motion monitoring function were addressed. One is sensor-network type with motion monitoring function, which uses Zigbee communication to measure the ECG, PPG and acceleration. The other is sensor-embedded type with motion monitoring function, which also can measure the data and uses the built-in cellular phone network modem for remote connection. These devices are expected to be useful for ubiquitous healthcare in coming aged society in Korea.

최근에 낮은 가격과 전력을 내세워 응용서비스를 제공할 수 있는 Bluetooth를 탑재한 많은 무선 제품들이 출시되고 있다. 그러나 1Mbps의 저속, 다른 무선 기기들과의 상호 간섭과 호환성 문제 그리고 보안 문제 등 많은 제약 조건이 따름에도 불구하고 이동전화, 컴퓨터, PDA 등 근거리 무선접속을 사용하고 있는 가정이나 회사의 전화나 컴퓨터들과 어떻게 서로 쉽게 연결될 수 있을까에 대한 꾸준한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. Bluetooth 무선 기술은 음성 및 데이터 전송을 위한 단거리 일대다중 무선 주파수 통신을 위해 제안된 무선통신 기술이다. Bluetooth는 2.4GHz ISM Band에서 동작하며 약 10m 범위의 다양한 이동 장치와 휴대용 장치를 위한 저가격의 기저대역 무선 접속을 제공한다. 본 논문에서 Bluetooth의 기술적 측면을 알아보고 이를 이용해 현재 시장에 출시된 Bluetooth 기기중 하나인 One Phone을 소개하려 한다. 또한 Bluetooth의 발전 가능성에 대하여 알아본다.

개인용 휴대전화는 다양한 형태로 발전 되어 왔다. 그 동안 국내 통신 시장은 피쳐폰이라고 불리는 단순 전화, 문자 위주의 서비스만을 제공하는 하드웨어 기반의 서비스가 대부분이었다. 몇 년 전부터 PDA와 전화 기능을 기반으로 한 하드웨어가 출시되기 시작하였으나 사용 및 운영의 불편함으로 인해 수요의 폭을 넓히지 못 하였고, 2007년 Apple사의 iPhone 출시를 기점으로 전 세계적으로 다양한 형태의 스마트 폰이 출시되기 시작하였다. 또한 휴대폰 공급 업자들이 제공하는 일방적인 서비스에 만족하지 않고 사용자가 원하는 방향에 필요한 컨텐츠를 다양하게 제공할 수 있는 소프트웨어 마켓의 등장으로 스마트 폰은 그 사용자 층이 매년 큰 폭으로 확대되고 있다. 최근 스마트폰은 글로벌 경기 침체 속에서도 13%대의 성장률(2009년 3/4분기)를 보이며 세계 휴대폰 시장의 중심으로 자리 잡고 있다. 또 사용자의 요구를 충족 시키기 위해서는 다양한 플랫폼의 개발자가 양성 되고 있으며 다양한 어플리케이션을 제공하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 플렛폼 기반의 개발 환경을 소개하고 향후 개발자들이 접목할 수 있는 개발 도구 및 응용 방법을 비교 분석함으로써 스마트폰을 기반으로 한 최적화 어플리케이션의 개발을 촉진 시키고자 한다.

디지털 TV, 인터넷 셋탑박스, 인터넷 전화기 등과 같은 정보가전 제품이 속속 등장하면서 이들 제품의 기능을 제어하는데 필수적인 실시간 운영체제 시장이 크게 성장하고 있다. 한국전자통신연구원에서는 소형의 휴대 정보 단말에서부터 디지털 셋탑박스 및 홈 서버까지 다양한 종류의 정보가전 기기에 공통으로 사용될 수 있는 확장 가능한 표준 실시간 운영체제 Qplus-P를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 정보가전용 실시간 운영체제 Qplus-P에 탑재되는 그래픽 윈도우 라이브러리의 구현에 대해 기술한다. Qplus-P 그래픽 윈도우 라이브러리는 공개소스인 tiny-X 그래픽 서버에 한글 처리 기능, 화면 회전 기능, 터치스크린 입력 기능, 그래픽 가속 기능 등을 추가하였다. Qplus-P 그래픽 윈도우 라이브러리는 현재 arm 프로세서를 사용하는 아이팩 3600 PDA, 삼성 S3C2400 보드, 자우루스 PDA와 x86 프로세서를 사용하는 홈서버에 탑재되었으며, Qplus-P타겟 빌더에 통합된 형태로 제공된다.

초고속 통신망과 인터넷정보가전기기의 개발로 인해 사이버 아파트를 중심으로 홈네트워크 환경을 빠르게 갖추게 되었다. 홈 네트워크 환경은 가정내의 수많은 가전기기들이 네트워크로 연결되어 윤택한 가정 내의 환경을 제공해 준다. 그러므로, 최근 네트워크로 연결된 인터넷 정보가전의 등장으로 인하여 해킹, 오동작 및 고장과 홈 오토메이션에서의 방범, 화재, 침입 등을 통합 관리하는 서비스 요구가 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 홈 네트워크 정보가전기기 환경에서의 통합위기관리 서비스 모델을 설계 제안한다. 즉, 정보가전 위기관리 서비스를 분류하고 XML로 위기관리 메시지를 정의한다. 위기상황이 발생된 메시지는 무선단말기인 PDA나 휴대폰 또는 관련기관에 통보되어 처리된다.

최근 PDA나 스마트폰 같은 휴대용 장치의 사용이 비약적으로 증가함에 따라, 이 기종의 하드웨어 플랫폼 상에서 플랫폼 독립성을 제공하는 자바 기술이 임베디드 소프트웨어 분야에 핵심 플랫폼이 되어가고 있다. 특히, 휴대용 장치에서는 자바의 여러 스펙중 KVM(Kilobyte Virtual Machine)을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 상기 구현한 KVM에 대한 검증을 위해 Java Game 응용 프로그램을 설계 및 구현 하였으며, 실시간 운영체제인 iRTOS상에서 검증하였다.

본 연구에서는 검색의 정확도가 떨어지는 문제들을 해결하기 위해, meaning-based 검색과 meaning-based 검색을 결합하여 검색 시스템을 설계하였다. 설계된 검색 시스템은 임베디드 시스템에 적용할 수 있도록 했으며, 휴대용 PDA 및 스마트 폰과 같은 휴대용 장치로 이미지 데이터를 검색하고 관리가 가능하다. 아울러 검색 시스템은 멀티미디어 데이터를 효율적으로 활용할 수 있다.
