The Efficacy of Needle-Acupuncture at Nei Guan (PC06) and Xin Shu (BL15) on Bradycardia in Dogs (내관(PC06) 및 심수(BL15)에 대한 자침이 개의 서맥에 미치는 효과)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the efficacy of needle-acupuncture (needle-AP) at PC06 and BL15 on xylazine induced bradycardia in dogs. Total 12 dogs were divided into control (4 dogs), PC06 (4 dogs) and BL15 (4 dogs) groups, respectively. As for the treatments in each group, control group was injected with xylazine only. PC06 and BL15 groups were treated by needle-AP during 20 minutes at the same time of xylazine injection. The changes of heart rates, R-R intervals and respiratory rates were investigated on pre, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes after xylazine injection. The change of heart rates in experimental PC06 and BL15 groups revealed significant increase on 10 (p<0.05) and 20 minutes (p<0.05) after xylazine injection, compared with those of control group. In addition, heart rates in PC06 group showed increased value on 30 minutes (p<0.05) after xylazine injection, comparing with those of BL15 group. The changes of respiratory rates in experimental PC06 and BL15 groups revealed significant increase on 20 minutes (p<0.05) after xylazine injection, compared with those of control group, however, significance was not found between experimental groups. In conclusion, needle-AP at PC06 and BL15 were effective for improvement of xylazine induced canine bradycardia and needle-AP at PC06 was more effective than that at BL15.

  • Since computerized numerical controller (CNC) emerged as a result of the fusion of the electronics technology and the mechanical technology, there has been continuous evolution of CNC technology in the mechatronics industry. The industry is recently developing a new control system based on the fusion of personal computer (PC) and CNC. Upgraded PC has now integrated into CNC, making various machines possible to exchange data, software and hardware, and to greatly improve man-machine interface. The fusion of PC and CNC can form a new paradigm in technological innovation of not only control system but also whole machinery industry in near the future. Korea lagged behind the developed countries in the development of open control system with the fusion of PC. Turbo-tek, Hyundai Motor and Daewoo are leading companies, but their commercial possibility seems to be low because domestic market is too small to reap a commercial benefit. Nevertheless, the development of the system is an essential step for Korea to embark on a future technological paradigm of the machinery industry. The government needs to play some role for the development, for instance, government R&D projects, institutional building and training of related technicians.

  • Due to the improvement of PC performance and windows-based OS, PC-based control system is gradually taking over industrial control in the industry site, replacing the closed proprietary syste. PC-based system gives the avantages of ease-of-use, cost-effectiveness, simplicity of maintenace and the flexibility to design I/O system using standard technology. While there are many real time software soltions, most of hardware solutions are closed, vendor-depednent, proprietary systems for large scale plants. In this paper, we suggest the method to configure PC-based I/O system based on standard technology which gives the avantages to use off-the-shelf products for system integration.

  • This paper describes the dual system technology of PC based control system at steel plant.   • In this paper, we implement the multimedia remote control system by using existing internet service or wired online. We also provide user-friendly convenient environment with developed application program named EzPlay and PC-EPG. The multimedia remote control system consists of integrated wireless transceiver of PC and TV connected USB type and the users can easily use lots of contents because EzPlay program provides appropriate UI mode on the PC and TV screen. The unposed system can operate real-time playing, reserved video receding and data storing function using internet mesh based on signal detecting control theory. The PC-EPG system is implemented by server/client web program and the client program based on visual C++/MFC processes data storing in client computer through TCP/IP. It also provides intelligent function that constructs database according to user's preference.

  • To control a greenhouse is to control environmental parameters in greenhouse. Controlled environments may be as simple as saran-covered shade houses or as complex as growth chambers. Although greenhouses are probably the most common example of a controlled environment used in agricultural/horticultural production, the type of controlled environment or system that is needed depends upon the climate, time of year, crops being produced and the environmental parameters that must be controlled. In this contribution puts emphasis on construction of automatic-controlled greenhouse system by personal computer.

  • In this paper, a control system of the PUMA 560 robot manipulator using a PC (Personal Computer) is presented. The hardware of the designed control system is composed of IBM-PC/AT, interface board, selection board, interrupt generating circuit, and the servo control unit of the PUMA controller. A robot control library is developed using assembly and C language, and is composed of several low-level functions and arm interface routines, world model routines, arm kinematics routines, and motion command service routines. Using the designed library, joint interpolated motion and Cartesian interpolated motion of the PUMA robot manipulator are realized. In the future, our system is expected to be a very helpful basis and a useful tool for developing various control algorithms of robot manipulator using sensory information.

  • In this paper, we implemented the monitoring and control of geothermal heating and cooling system using mobile devices. The main idea of this system is to provide the convenience if the system can be controled in remote place with monitoring using the mobile devices like PDA. Basically, the system consists of the Server-Client structure divided into two parts, one is PDA and PC, the other is PC and PLC(Programmable Logic Controller). The PDA, which is equipped with Windows CE as as, monitors the status of the devices (motors and sensors, etc) attached to PLC and controls them. This does the system to be controled by the commands, which we assume to control, with wireless transmission between PC and PLC. The PDA parts are responsible for monitoring and control the devices connected to the PLC, and the PC part which equipped with the application is to provide the relation between PDA and PLC.   • Tidal generation has become one of environmentally friendly new and renewable future sources of energy. The Sihwa Tidal Power Plant in South Korea, which was imported from abroad by turnkey type in 2011, connected to the power system in 2012, and is currently under commercial operation. However, leading companies are reluctant to disclose their technologies associated with the control systems and are not cooperative in technology transfers, making it a high priority to develop core technologies in South Korea. In order to develop a start stop control system for tidal generation, this paper presents the optimal algorithm for decision making and prototype of hardware design. First, control systems in tidal power, such as plant operation control, data interfaces between systems, monitoring and control points of the control system, are analyzed. The software development and PC based emulator processes for optimization algorithm processing are described. Finally, verification of the algorithm implementation, hardware platform for start stop control device, and implementation of prototype control system were discussed.
