This study was done to develop PDA based application system for forest geographic information with GPS. The major results obtained in this study were as follows. A PDA based application program was developed to work on $Microsoft^{TM}$ PocketPC 2002 and 2003 operating system. The screen of PDA displays a 1:25,000 digital topographical map adopted DXF format converted from PC, and the map data with 1:2,500 to 1:30,000 on PDA can be zoomed in or out to five levels. Current position and navigating path received from GPS can be displayed on the screen and be saved in PDA. Information selected among layers of digital topographic map in DXF format can be converted into binary files which can be used on forest geographic information software. This can compress DXF files to 90% in size, and the processing speed of PDA was improved. The forest geographic information management system can be used to manage sample plots on which forest inventory is done, with the help of the sub-menus and grid index values with position information received from GPS. Forest workers can in quire forest geographic information such as forest type, location, forest roads, soil erosion control dams using forest geographic information management system in the field. The forest geographic information management system can provide current position and mobile path information to people who enjoy forest related activities like mountain-climbing, sightseeing, and visiting to historic spots.

Due to rapid advance of wireless communication technology and popularization of wireless devices, demand on wireless internet contents is gradually increasing. Therefore, there are many researches and solution developments to provide good qualified contents quickly for wireless internet. For example, researches into converting wired web contents into wireless web contents or using integrated markup language like XHTML basic to make contents. In this paper, I propose a method to develop XML-based web contents which uses PHP language for data fetch from MySQL database. This method use open source software for a cost saving. Due to use of PHP extension as a XSLT engine, this method is very easy to apply. For a example of this method, a web content of movie information is implemented for PC and PDA browser. Developing XML-based web contents is useful not only for supporting devices of multiple type, but also for rapid changes of user interface design and for exchange of contents between web sites.

The POS(Point Of Sales) system is S/W and H/W that enables to analyse and evaluate sales information that has been collected in the real-time at point of sales by each department in the store. However, existing POS systems are mainly aiming at the large scaled store with the specific high-priced equipment, so that in applying them to a store specializing in food have weak point to use them in the cost or scale respect. In this paper, we design and implement a web based POS system with PC(Personal Computer) and PDA/(Personal Digital Assistant) in wireless internet environment to apply POS system to a store specializing in food, without specific equipments.

In the 21n century, the internet order system half been developed to maintain convenience along with the development of the high speed internet networks. food order system in any place and at any time we developed internet oder systems that uses the wireless internet terminals(PDA, Pocket PC, etc) or the PC based on CTI system. We researched economic efficiency and possibility of game portal service based PDA/Smart phone by popularize of next generation portable internet WiBro. PDA/Smart phone are difficult to equal level content service with PC, because of it has low CPU and memory than PC. This paper are implemented paper of integrated server of Cable or Wireless for WiBro contents. In this research, we implemented and show test result of CP killer contents in PDA. It can apply to WiBro portable internet and has required many functions in integrated server for cable or wireless. CP Killer contents for WiBro portable internet is developed by PC server base on Window XP. It can accept next generation wireless LAN, portable internet and ubiquitous issues. We expect activation of commercial use that WiBro contents and server trading.

기존의 원격진료시스템은 직접 PC를 통해 Server에 접속하여 환자의 신상명세 및 치료 처방을 수행하고 있다. 그러나 무선 인터넷이 보급됨에 따라 PC가 아닌 휴대용 단말 장치만으로도 Server에 접속할 수 있게 되었다. 실제 임상에서 무선 인터넷의 PDA나 휴대폰을 이용하여 환자에 대한 처방이나 치료를 의사가 즉각적으로 할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 PDA나 휴대폰의 경우 처리 속도 및 화면 크기에 한계가 있다. 그러므로 본 논문은 이런 문제를 개선하기 위해서 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)을 이용하여 빠르고 정확한 최적의 원격진료시스템을 제안하고 구현한다.

This paper deals with the real-time monitoring and control system using PC, PDA(Win CE embedded device) and PCS(based BREW platform). The camera attached to the server captures the moving target, and the captured frame of color image is encoded in JPEG for image compression at the server. The client(PC, PDA, PCS) receives the image data from the remote server and the received image is decoded from decompression. We use the TCP/IP protocol to send the image frames. The client can control the position of the camera by sending the control command to the server. Two DC servo motors for the camera are controlled in any directions, up-down and left-right, by the controller which is communicating with the server via the serial communication to get the control command. In this way, on the client we can monitor the moving images at the server and also control the position of the camera.

This thesis proposed a method that connecting step motor to image send board which can acquire image to move and remote controlling via streaming image board of PDA(personal digital assistant) based on embedded Linux which is using wireless network There are three embedded Linux system to embody movable image send board. First, though the wireless network a signal of PDA is transmitted to the board which has embedded Linux and a system which is controlled by the expansion I/O port of the board. Second, it's a system streaming realtime image at a PDA which has embedded Linux. The last is a system which controls a process of image board using TCP/IP communication and image send board at PC. These are the system which can use industrial settings and homes. It can also make use of an embodiment method about travelling image robot.

Several multi-user online applications which are operated by the existing fixed terminals(PC) are being changed into online application based on multi-platform operated by the several PC, PDA and mobile phones to perform concurrent works recently. The contents of current online application based multi-platform are, however, very unsophisticated because the applications don't consider the simultaneous accesses of shared data by multi-user and also the asymmetry of computing power and network bandwidth among each client. This paper proposed the methods of consistency control based on multi-platform, update propagation protocols among diverse clients, object management techniques which take the characteristics of mobile clients into account. We also implemented a chatting application based on multi-platform and it showed the proposed methods perform well.
