The Electric and Ferroelectric of Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 Thin Films Deposited on Ruthenium Electrodes (루테늄 전극위에 증착된 PZT 박막의 전기적 및 강유전 특성)

  • $Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3(PZT)$ thin films deposited on $Ru/RuO_2$ bottom electrode that grown for in-situ progress used rf magnetron sputtering method. We investigated the dependence of the crystalline and electrical properties in the way of capacitors PZT thin films. Our results show that all PZT films indicated polycrystalline perovskite structure with preferred orientation (110) and no pyrochlore phase is observed. The electric properties of the Ru improved with increasing Ru thin films thickness. A well-fabricated Ru/PZT/Ru (100 nm) /$RuO_2$ capacitor showed a leakage current density in the order of $2.03{\times}10^{-7}$ $A/cm^2$ as a 50 kV/cm, a remnant polarization (Pr) of 9.22 ${\mu}C/cm^2$, and a coercive field (-EC) of -32.22 kV/cm. The results show that $Ru/Ru/RuO_2$ bottom electrodes are expected to reduce the degradation ferroelectric fatigue and excellent ferroelectric properties.

Effect of Shock Wave Exposure on Structural, Optical and Magnetic Properties of Lead Sulfide Nanoparticles (충격파 유동노출에 따른 황화납 나노소재의 미세구조 및 자기광학적 특성 분석에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • A series of shock wave pulses with Mach number 2.2 of 100, 200, and 300 shocks were applied to lead sulfide (PbS) nanomaterials at intervals of 5 sec per shock pulse. To investigate the crystallographic, electronic, and magnetic phase stabilities, powder X-ray diffractometry (XRD), diffused reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM) were employed. The material exhibited a rock salt structure (NaCl-type structure); XRD results indicated that material is monoclinic with space group C121 (5). Further, XRD results showed shifts due to lattice contraction and expansion when material was subjected to shock wave pulses, indicating stable material structure. Based on the data obtained, we believe that the PbS material is a good choice for high-pressure, high-temperature, and aerospace applications due to its superior shock resistance characteristics.

Chemical pretreatment for anaerobic treatment of abandoned mine drainage (폐광산폐수의 혐기성 처리를 위한 화학적 전처리)

  • This research was carried out to investigate chemical pretreatment using lime and limestone in treating abandoned mine drainage with anaerobic treatment. If treating lime with abandoned mine drainage, after 2day, pH was increased to 5.6, and $SO_4^{2-}$, Fe, Al, Pb and Mn were removed 5.7%, 63%, 57, 45% and 28%, respectively. It was estimated that lime dosage was 2,000mg/L for increasing to pH 7. If treating limestone with abandoned mine drainage, after 2day, pH was increased to 3.67, and $SO_4^{2-}$, Fe, Al, Pb and Mn were removed 4.7%, 26%, 22% 18% and 8%, respectively. It could be showed that limestone did slowly react with temperature increasing. If treating anaerobic limestone packing column with abandoned mine drainage, for experimental period, average pH was 4.51, and average $SO_4^{2-}$, Fe, Al, Pb and Mn were removed 4.5%, 15.3%, 20.1%, 23.7% and 5.87%, respectively. So, it would not be suitable for abandoned mine drainage. But if utilizing limestone as pretreatment process for treating abandoned mine drainage with SRB, because it did initally neutralize abandoned mine drainage, it could forward to stabilize system.

Studies on Fabrication of Translucent Eletrooptic Ceramics (투광성 전기 광학용 소자의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • In order to fabricate the translucent electrooptic ceramics which are comparable to PLZT, $PNZT^*$ has been prepared from aqueous solutions of their itrate and chlorides. In the quarternary $Pb^{1-x} Nd_x(Zr_{0.63} Ti_{0.37})^{1-\frac{x}{4}O_3$, (PNZT) $(0.02\le x\ge 0.12)$ system cold-pressed PNZT slugs were sintered in $O_2$ in pt-crucible for 45 min. at 118$0^{\circ}C$ and were then heat-treated in air for 60 hrs. at 120$0^{\circ}C$ in Al2O3 crucibles containing $PbZrO_3$ powder to control the atmosphere. Mean particle size of calcined PNZT powders was 0.1~0.15${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. It was found that the maximum value of optical transmission has been revealed at 6~8 at. % $Nd_2O_3$ added body and that their dielectric constant has been decreased as the frequency increased. Curic temperature has been varied inversely with $Nd^{3+}$ ion content up to 8 at. % and become constant above this value. $^*Pb_{1-x}Nd_x(Zr_{0.63} Ti_{0.37})_{1-2/4}O_3$

Study on Characterization of Deposition Flux of Dustfall in Kunsan, Korea

  • The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate seasonal deposition flux variations of the total dustfall and various inorganic elements in it. Total of 84 dustfall samples were collected from September, 1997 thru August, 1998 at 7 different sites in Kunsan. Each sample was analyzed by an AAS to determine the levels of 5 inorganic elements; Zn, Cd, Cr, Fe and Pb. Deposition fluxes, soluble/total fractions for each element were extensively investigated. Estimated deposition fluxes of dustfall and elements in Kunsan were in the range of 37.5∼45.1 ton/$\textrm{km}^2$/yr for dustfall, 43.5∼81.8 kg/$\textrm{km}^2$/yr for Zn, 6.6∼11.0 kg/$\textrm{km}^2$/yr for Cd, 44.8∼110.0 kg/$\textrm{km}^2$/yr for Cr, 223∼323 kg/$\textrm{km}^2$/yr for Fe, 10.9∼22.3 kg/$\textrm{km}^2$/yr for Pb, respectively. Thus, the estimated average total deposition fluxes of dustfall in Kunsan(376.35 $\textrm{km}^2$) per day were 43.3 ton and 58.6 kg for Zn, 8.9 kg for Cd, 80.6 kg for Cr, 293.8 kg for Fe and 14.1 kg for Pb, respectively.

서해 중부연안 갯벌에서의 저질 및 패류(Solen strictus Gould)중 중금속 분포특성

  • Heavy metal level and distribution in sediments and bivalves from the tidal flats along the mid-western coast, Korea, were investigated. The averages of heavy metal concentrations in sediments from 5 sampling sites ranged from 86.35-187.77mg/kg for Mn, 13.25-17.73mg/kg for Zn, 6.80-11.85mg/kg for Cr, 4.28-6.25mg/kg for Ni, 1.85-3.09mg/kg for Cu, 0.004-0.020mg/kg for Cd and 5.70-10.41mg/kg for Pb, respectively. Among the mussels of the limited body size(8.5-11cm), heavy metal concentration both in the flesh and in the whole soft parts were not strongly related to the body size. It was shown that, in S. strictus, Cu moves fast into the flesh after absorption, but Pb and Fe move very slowly. Overally, the heavy metal concentration in the flesh tends to increase with that in the whole soft parts. The concentration factors(heavy metal concentration in S. strictus/heavy metal concentration in sediment) showed that, of the examined metals, Cd is the most cumulative in the body of S. strictus, followed by Zn and Cu, while Mn, Cr, Ni and Pb are not cumulative.

Formation of Powders and Electromechanical Coupling Factor of $Pb(Mn_{1/3} Sb_{2/3})_{0.08} Ti_{0.495}Zr_{0.425}O_3$ by Hydrothermal Synthesis (수열합성에 의한 $Pb(Mn_{1/3} Sb_{2/3})_{0.08} Ti_{0.495}Zr_{0.425}O_3$ 계의 분말제조 및 4K_P$ 특성)

  • Formation of powders and electromechanical coupling factor of $Pb(Mn_{1/3} Sb_{2/3})_{0.08} Ti_{0.495}Zr_{0.425}O_3$ by hydro-thermal synthesis are described. The hydrothermal reactions each were accomplished at 12$0^{\circ}C$~25$0^{\circ}C$ for 5hours and sintering was accomplished at 1, .20$0^{\circ}C$ for 1hours. The PZT powders by hydrothermal synthesis were formed above 16$0^{\circ}C$ and the forms were cubic types. The ratio of grain size of sintered sample to powder was slowly decreased with the rising of hydrothermal reactino temperature but decreased rapidly above 22$0^{\circ}C$ Sintering density was decreased with the rising of hydrothermal reaction temperature above 16$0^{\circ}C$ but dielectric constant was increased. Electromechanical coupling factor $K_P$ was almost constant at 16$0^{\circ}C$~24$0^{\circ}C$ range and the value of $K_P$ was about 0.43-0.45.

Atmospheric Concentration of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons and Heavy Metals in Suspended Particulate (大氣浮遊粉塵中 多環芳香族炭火水素 및 重金屬의 濃度)

  • Total suspended particulates (TSP) in the atmosphere was collected and size-fractionated by Andersen high volume air sampler for one year (Mar. 1987 $\sim$ Feb. 1988) in Seoul. The concentrations of several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals were determined to investigate the atmospheric concentrations, seasonal variations and its relationship with the size distribution of suspended particulate matter. The arithmetic mean concentration of total suspended particulates was 200.44 $\mug/m^3$. The concentrations of heavy metals were 2433.80 for Fe, 629.49 for Zn, 600.71 for Pb, 143.87 for Cu, and 107.21 $ng/m^3$ for Mn, respectively. The concentrations of PAHs were 3.83 for benzo(a) pyrene, 2.95 for benzo(k)fluoranthene, and 4.42 $ng/m^3$ for benzo(ghi)perylene, respectively. PAHs, Pb and Zn abounded in particles below 2.0 $\mu$m, while Fe and Mn aboounded in particles above 2.0 $\mu$m. TSP and its chemical compositions showed the seasonal variations. The concentrations of anthrophogenic pollutants like TSP, PAHs and heavy metals in the fine particles were highest in winter and lowest in summer. PAHs and Pb analyzed showed significant correlations between each other and between TSP concentration in fine particles, indicating that the particles in which they are contained have a similar behavior in the atmosphere.

Enhanced Photovoltaic Performance of Perovskite Solar Cells by Copper Chloride (CuCl2) as an Additive in Single Solvent Perovskite Precursor

  • In this letter, we have introduced copper chloride ($CuCl_2$) as an additive in the $CH_3NH_3PbI_3$ precursor solution to improve the surface morphology and crystallinity of $CH_3NH_3PbI_3$ films in a single solvent system. Our optimized perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with 2.5 mol% $CuCl_2$ additive showed best power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.22%. The PCE of the PSCs fabricated by $CuCl_2$ (2.5 mol%) additive engineering was 56% higher than the PSC fabricated with pristine $CH_3NH_3PbI_3$.
