  • The removal efficiency of nutrient was investicated by using Glycine max Meer seedling. After budding, Glycine max Merr was raised at darkness for 4 days. During cultivation, the removal efficiency of $NO_2-N+NO_3-N$ was up to 90% with initial concentration of 20-100 ppm. The removal efficiency of PO$_4$-P was up to 80% with initial concentration at 30 ppm, but it was down to 22% and 27% at 40 ppm and 50 ppm. When the removal efficiency of nutrient was compared with alternating 12 hours' light and darkness, the removal efficiency of NO$_2$-N + NO$_3$-N was up to 90% at below 60 ppm. It was not different from each other. But it was particularly low about 62% and 34% at 80 ppm and 100 ppm in alternating 12 hours' light. The removal efficiency of PO$_4$-P was low at alternating 12 hours' light between 10-50 ppm on the whole range. The neutralizing capacity of pH was shown in acidity and alkalinity except strong acidity(below pH 3). The initial pH was neutralized at 6.0-7.7 of pH after 4 days. Particularly, Glycine max Meer seedling that was difference from other water plants, was shown the neutralizing capacity in strong alkalinity.

  • An experimental study has been done to investigate the explosion characteristics of aluminum powders with different sizes and concentrations in a 20 L spherical explosion vessel. Two different sizes of aluminum powder were used : $15.1{\mu}m$ and $34.8{\mu}m$ with a volume mean diameter. The results revealed that $15.1{\mu}m$ Al powder has a Lower explosion limit (LEL) of $40g/m^3$, a maximun explosion pressure ($P_{max}$) of 9.8 bar and a maximum rate of pressure rise ($[dP/dt]_{max}$) of 1852 bar/s, in $34.8{\mu}m$ Al powder, LEL of $70g/m^3$, $P_{max}$ of 7.9 bar and $[dP/dt]_{max}$ of 322 bar/s. The LEL of Al powders tended to increase with the increase of particle size. Also, it was found that the flame velocity calculated from the powder with $15.1{\mu}m$ was about 5 times higher than that of the powder of $34.8{\mu}m$.

  • Let D be an integral domain, Spec(D) the set of prime ideals of D, and X a subspace of the Zariski topology on Spec(D). We show that X is compact if and only if given any ideal I of D with $I{\nsubseteq}P$ for all $P{\in}X$, there exists a finitely generated idea $J{\subseteq}I$ such that $J{\nsubseteq}P$ for all $P{\in}X$. We also prove that if D = ${\cap}_{P{\in}X}D_P$ and if * is the star-operation on D induced by X, then X is compact if and only if * $_f$-Max(D) ${\subseteq}$X. As a corollary, we have that t-Max(D) is compact and that ${\mathcal{P}}$(D) = {P${\in}$ Spec(D)$|$P is minimal over (a : b) for some a, b${\in}$D} is compact if and only if t-Max(D) ${\subseteq}\;{\mathcal{P}}$(D).

  • Cylinder pressure level is defined the value of sound pressure level derived from relations of pressure and frequency which are obtained Fourier series expansion of cylinder pressure. CPL is alone in general use in combustion analysis without regarding attenuation coefficient determined by engine structure because it is almost constant in various kinds of engines. Combustion pressure fluctuation and influence of CPL was investigated in this paper using Wiebe combustion function superposition th obtain the effect of premixed and diffusive combustion. The results are as follow. (1) Influence of combustion maximum pressure(P$\sub$max/) on CPL is correspond with total energy per cycle well. (2) P$\sub$max/, .DELTA.P$\sub$max/, (dp/d.theta.)$\sub$max/ and (d$\^$2/p/d.theta.$\^$2/)$\sub$max/ are very effective on CPL in the range of low frequency, mid-low frequency, mid-high frequency and high frequency respectively.

  • This study dealt with developing a new approach for finding properties which might represent rut resistance characteristics of asphalt mixture under static loading. Two aggregates, a normal asphalt (pen 60-80) and 5 polymer-modified asphalts were used in preparation of 12 dense-graded mixtures. Marshall mix design was used in determination of OAC and each mixture at the OAC was prepared for a newly-developed Kim test on Marshall specimen (S=10cm) and gyratory specimen (S=15cm), and for wheel tracking test. Kim test used Marshall loading frame and specimens were conditioned for 30min at $60^{\circ}C$ before loading through Kim tester an apparatus consisting of a loading column and a specimen and column holder Diameter (D) of column was 3cm and 4cm with each column having different radius (r) of round cut at the bottom. The static load was applied at 50mm/min in axial direction of the specimen, not in diametral direction. The maximum load ($P_{max}$) and vertical deformation (y) at $P_{max}$ point were obtained from the test. A strength value was calculated based on the $P_{max}$ r, D and y by using the equation $K_D = 4P_{max}/{\pi}(D-2(r-\sqrt{2ry-y^2}))^2$ and is defined as the deformation strength ($kgf/cm^2$). The values of $P_{max}$/y and $K_I=K_D/y$ were also calculated. In general the leading column diameter and radius of round cut were significant factors affecting $K_D$ and $P_{max}$ values while specimen diameter was not. The statistical analyses showed the $K_D$ had the best correlation with rut depth and dynamic stability. The next best correlation was found from $P_{max}$ which was followed by $P_{max}$/y and $K_I$ in order.

  • Early afterdepolarization (EAD), a significant cause of fatal ventricular arrhythmias including Torsade de Pointes (TdP) in long QT syndromes, is a depolarizing afterpotential at the plateau or repolarization phase in action potential (AP) profile early before completing one pace. AP duration prolongation is related to EAD but is not necessarily accounted for EAD. Several computational studies suggested EAD can form from an abnormality in the late plateau and/or repolarization phase of AP shape. In this sense, we hypothesized the slope during repolarization has the characteristics to predict TdP risk, mainly focusing on the maximum slope during repolarization (dVm/dtmax_repol). This study aimed to predict the sensitivity of dVm/dtmax_repol to ion channel conductances as a TdP risk metric through a population simulation considering multiple effects of simultaneous reduction in six ion channel conductances of gNaL, gKr, gKs, gto, gK1, and gCaL. Additionally, we verified the availability of dVm/dtmax_repol for TdP risk prediction through the correlation analysis with qNet, the representative TdP metric. We performed the population simulations based on the methodology of Gemmel et al. using the human ventricular myocyte model of Dutta et al. Among the sixion channel conductances, dVm/dtmax_repol and qNet responded most sensitively to the change in gKr, followed by gNaL. Furthermore, dVm/dtmax_repol showed a statistically significant high negative correlation with qNet. The dVm/dtmax_repol values were significantly different according to three TdP risk levels of high, intermediate, and low by qNet (p<0.001). In conclusion, we suggested dVm/dtmax_repol as a new biomarker metric for TdP risk assessment.

  • Purpose: The recent surge in breast carcinoma patients is reported in a variety of statistics. Breast cancer occurs mainly from duct and lobulus: 85% is from the breast ducts. The present study is aimed to distinguish the difference in $SUV_{max}$ changing over time by identifying the type of cancers attacking from the duct. Materials and Methods: The subjects of the study are 291 female breast cancer patients who have visited the present PET/CT center from July 1, 2012 to July 23, 2013. Based on the pathological results, 248 IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma) patients and 43 DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) patients were selected. In the same manner as the general PET/CT scan (3.7 MBq/Kg), F-FDG was injected, followed by the primary test (Routine tests) after 1 hr, and the secondary test (Delay test) after another hr. $SUV_{max}$ was measured after setting ROI in the lesion based on the data from the two tests. Results: As the comparative result of the change in the lesion $SUV_{max}$ between the two groups, IDC group's $SUV_{max}$ showed M=7.11 and SD=5.405 in the primary test and increased M=7.11 and SD=5.405 in the secondary test (P<0.05); DCIS group's $SUV_{max}$ showed M=2.739, SD=1.229 in the primary test and increased M=2.614, SD=1.470 in the secondary test (P<0.05). Conclusion: As the comparative result of $SUV_{max}$ over time between the groups, IDC showed increased $SUV_{max}$ in the secondary test (Delay test) compared to the primary test (Routine test) (P=0.000); DCIS showed decreased $SUV_{max}$ in the secondary test (Delay test) compared to the primary test (Routine test) (P=0.039). It was confirmed through this study that the change in $SUV_{max}$ has occurred over time by the type of breast cancer (IDC or DCIS) occurring from the breast ducts. However, the onset of breast cancers (ILC, LCIS) from the lobulus was not discussed due to the lack of samples. Future research on the breast cancers from the lobulus is suggested.

  • This study set out to investigate the effects of the same amount of resting(30 minutes) after $VO_2max$ 20%, 40%, and 60% exercise on the variation of cortisol and catecholamine, serum stress hormones. The research efforts led to the following conclusions: First, there were no significant differences in serum cortisol concentration between the $VO_2max$ 20% group and the $VO_2max$ 40% group, but there were some significant differences in the significance level of p=.002 in the $VO_2max$ 60% group. Second, there were no significant differences in serum catecholamine concentration between the $VO_2max$ 20% group and the $VO_2max$ 40% group, but there were some significant differences in the significance level of p=.001 in the $VO_2max$ 60% group. Third, no significant differences were found in the changing rates of serum cortisol concentration between right after exercise and during break among different levels of exercise intensity according to measuring time. Fourth, there were significant differences in the changing rates of serum catecholamine concentration in the significance level of p=.000 right after exercise and in the significance level of p=.034 during break In short, there were significant differences only in the $VO_2max$ 60% group according to exercise intensity when the different groups took the same amount of break after exercise. The $VO_2max$ 60% group was also the only group that showed significant differences in the changing rates of cortisol and catecholamine. In conclusion, taking a break after exercise can generate huge effects only when the exercise intensity level is moderate or higher. That is, taking a break will have no significant effects when the exercise intensity level is lower than moderate.

  • Polymers containing poly(vinyl phosphonic) acid segments are promising candidates to be used as proton conducting membranes. Solid state NMR spectroscopy represents an ideal probe of proton motion on the molecular level, because it allows us to selectively detect the nuclei of interest. In this paper, we apply solid state NMR methods to poly(vinyl phosphonic) acid in order to demonstrate that the proton conduction of poly(vinyl phosphonic acid) results from P-OH proton through hydrogen bonding and that the condensation of phosphonic acid leads to decrease in proton conductivity. $^{1}H\;and\;^{31}P$ solid state NMR experiments are supported by quantum chemical computation of NMR parameters.
