한반도 근해의 해류와 해수특성 -III. 한국 동해 중부 극전선역에 출현하는 수괴의 화학적 특성- (A Study on Sea Water and Ocean Current in the Sea Adjacent to Korea Peninsula -III. Chemical Characteristics of Water Masses in the Polar Front Area of the Central Korean East Sea-)

  • 동해 중부 극전선역에 있어서 동계와 하계에 각종 수괴의 수직분포특성과 이 수괴들의 화학적성 질에 대해 연구하였다. 동계의 경우, 수온약층은 북쪽 바깥 정점들이 남쪽 연안 정점들에 비해 더 깊은 수층에 존재하고, 이 약층의 상부에는 대마난류수가, 하부수층에는 동해고유수가 분포하고 있다. 그러나, 하계에는 수직적으로 대마난류 표층수, 중층수, 북한한류수 및 동해고유수가 분포하고, 동해고유수는 동계보다 다소 상부수층에 존재한다. 하계에 T-S diagram으로는 북한한류수 계통의 수괴, 대마난류 중층수 및 동해고유수의 혼합수를 구분할 수 없었으나, $T-O_2$ diagram으로는 구분이 가능했다. 한편, 동계 수온과 AOU는 좋은 역의 직선 관계를 보이며, AOU의 수직분포는 생물$\cdot$화학적과정보다는 주로 물리적 혼합과정에 의해 결정됨을 시사한다. 하계에는 대마난류 표층수에서 AOU값이 가장 낮고, 동해고유수에서 가장 높으며, 북한한류수 및 대마난류 중층수의 AOU값은 위 두수괴 사이의 값을 보인다. 그러나, 북한한류수괴의 해수는 대마난류 중층수보다 용존산소 농도가 약 1-2ml/l 높은데도, 이 두수괴의 생물$\cdot$화학적 산소요구량(AOU)은 비슷하였다. 일반외양수의 경우와 같이, 인산소은 AOU와 정의 직선관계이지만, 그 기울기 $(\Delta P/\Delta AOU)$ 값은 외양역의 $1/3\mu g-at/ml$ 보다 다소 작으며, 이는 표충수중 용존산소가 아래충으로 분자확산되어 AOU값이 낮아지기 매문이라고 생각된다. 특히, 하계 100m 이심충에서는 그 비값이 $l/2.0 \mu g-at/ml$ 으로 훨씬 낮으며, 그 이유는 비교적 낮은 AOU값을 보이는 북한한류계통의 해수가 중층(100-200m)에 나타나기 때문이다. 한편, 질산염과 인산소은 동$\cdot$ 하계 모두 전 정점에 대해 상관 계수 r=0.93 이상으로 좋은 정의 직선관계를 보인다.

A study of glass and carbon fibers in FRAC utilizing machine learning approach

  • Asphalt concrete (AC), is a mixture of bitumen and aggregates, which is very sensitive in the design of flexible pavement. In this study, the Marshall stability of the glass and carbon fiber bituminous concrete was predicted by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), and M5P Tree machine learning algorithms. To predict the Marshall stability, nine inputs parameters i.e., Bitumen, Glass and Carbon fibers mixed in 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100 percentage (designated as 100GF:0CF, 75GF:25CF, 50GF:50 CF, 25GF:75CF, 0GF:100CF), Bitumen grade (VG), Fiber length (FL), and Fiber diameter (FD) were utilized from the experimental and literary data. Seven statistical indices i.e., coefficient of correlation (CC), mean absolute error (MAE), root mean squared error (RMSE), relative absolute error (RAE), root relative squared error (RRSE), Scattering index (SI), and BIAS were applied to assess the effectiveness of the developed models. According to the performance evaluation results, Artificial neural network (ANN) was outperforming among other models with CC values as 0.9147 and 0.8648, MAE values as 1.3757 and 1.978, RMSE values as 1.843 and 2.6951, RAE values as 39.88 and 49.31, RRSE values as 40.62 and 50.50, SI values as 0.1379 and 0.2027 and BIAS value as -0.1 290 and -0.2357 in training and testing stage respectively. The Taylor diagram (testing stage) also confirmed that the ANN-based model outperforms the other models. Results of sensitivity analysis showed that the fiber length is the most influential in all nine input parameters whereas the fiber combination of 25GF:75CF was the most effective among all the fiber mixes in Marshall stability.

  • The heating and cooling performance of system multi-air conditioner under high-head and long-line conditions are experimentally investigated. The maximum head and tube length were 110 m and 1000 m, respectively. The experimental system was composed of 4 outdoor units with module systems, and 13 indoor units which were joined with the mode change unit by single-tube circuit. Field tests without indoor and outdoor temperature control were performed in a general office building with 22 different working conditions. Experimental results were prepared on the p-h diagram. Also the oil level in the compressor was normally maintained at the safety zone for the system multi-air conditioner with high-head and long-line conditions.

The maximum head and tube length were 110 m and 1000 m, and the two different adjustments of refrigerant flow rates were +20 % and -20 %, respectively. The experimental system was composed of 4 outdoor units with module systems, and 13 indoor units which were joined with the mode change unit by single-tube circuit. Large Steel Tank Fails and Rockets to Height of 30 meters - Rupture Disc Installed Incorrectly

  • At a brewery, the base plate-to-shell weld seam of a $90-m^3$ vertical cylindrical steel tank failed catastrophically. The 4 ton tank "took off" like a rocket leaving its contents behind, and landed on a van, crushing it. The top of the tank reached a height of 30 m. The internal overpressure responsible for the failure was an estimated 60 kPa. A rupture disc rated at < 50 kPa provided overpressure protection and thus prevented the tank from being covered by the European Pressure Equipment Directive. This safeguard failed and it was later discovered that the rupture disc had been installed upside down. The organizational root cause of this incident may be a fundamental lack of appreciation of the hazards of large volumes of low-pressure compressed air or gas. A contributing factor may be that the standard piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) symbol for a rupture disc may confuse and lead to incorrect installation. Compressed air systems are ubiquitous. The medium is not toxic or flammable. Such systems however, when operated at "slight overpressure" can store a great deal of energy and thus constitute a hazard that ought to be addressed by safety managers.

인공신경망과 유전 알고리즘을 이용한 분할 블랭크 홀더 스탬핑 공정의 성형성 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improving Formability of Stamping Processes with Segmented Blank Holders using Artificial Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm)

  • The field of sheet metal forming using press technology has become essential in modern mass production systems. Draw bead is often used to enhance formability. However, optimal draw bead design often requires excessive time and cost due to iterative experimentation and sometimes results in some defects. Given these challenges, there is a need to enhance formability by introducing segmented blank holders without draw beads. In this paper, the feasibility of a localized holding strategy using segmented blank holders is evaluated without the use of draw beads. The possibility for improving the formability was evaluated by utilizing a combination of the forming limit diagram and the wrinkle pattern-based defect indicators. Artificial neural networks were used for predicting defect indicators corresponding to arbitrary input holding forces and the NSGA-II optimization algorithm is used to find optimum blank holder forces yielding better defect indicators than the original process with drawbeads. Using optimum holding forces obtained from the proposed procedure, the stamping process with the segmented blank holders can yield better formability than the conventional process with drawbeads.

  • $CO_2$ 가스 존재여부와 pH가 Pb(II)와 sodium dodecyl sulfonate(SDS, $C_{12}H_{25}SO_3Na$) 흡착에 따른 silca 표면의 특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 contact angle 과 AFM을 이용한 힘 측정을 통하여 살펴보았다. 대기와 접촉하여 $CO_2$가 용해되는 조건에서 Pb와 SDS가 $10^{-4}M$ 씩 들어 있는 혼합용액을 처리하였을 때, fused silica 표면의 contact angle은 $PbCO_3$의 침전 때문에 최대 $46^{\circ}$로 낮았다. 반면에 $N_2$ 개스를 불어넣는 $CO_2$ 부재조건에서는 $PbCO_3$의 침전이 없었기 때문에 contact angle이 최대 $90^{\circ}$로 크게 증가되었다. $CO_2$ 부재조건에서 pH에 따른 contact angle과 AFM에서 측정한 점착력($F_{ad}$) 변화 양상은 $PbOH^+$ 화학종 분포와 유사하였으므로, Pb(II)의 silica 표면 흡착형태는 $PbOH^+$ 로 판단되었다. 한편 contact angle 과 AFM 측정결과 모두 Pb 단독처리에서 소수성을 발현하였다. 이 결과는 현재까지의 알려진 이론으로 설명할 수 없었으며 이를 위하여 원자수준에서의 심도 깊은 연구가 필요하다고 판단되었다.

황해 동남 해역의 수괴지표성 요각류 및 모악류의 분포와 수괴특성 (Distribution of Indicator Species of Copepods and Chaetognaths in the Southeastern Area of the Yellow Sea and Their Relationship to the Characteristics of Water Masses)

  • 수괴지표성 요각류 및 모악류의 분포, 군집구조 그리고 요인분석으로써 황해 동남 해역에 분포하는 수괴의 시공간적 변동 및 특성을 밝혔다 본 연구에서는 요각류인 Undinula darwini, Lucicutia flavicornis, Pleuromamma gracilis와 모악류인 Sagitta enflata는 난류 외양성 종으로, Euchaeta russelli 와 Euchaeta plana는 난류성이나 내성이 강하여 분포 범위를 넓게 가지는 종으로, Sagitta wassa는 연안성 종으로, Sagitta bedoti는 혼합성 종으로 그리고 Centropages abdominalis는 연안 저온성 종으로 특성 지어졌으며, 이들의 분포로써 수괴를 분석하였다. 2월의 경우, U. darwini, L. flavicornis, P. gracilis, E. russelli, E. plana 그리고 S. enflata가 출현하는 제주도 서방, 수온 $14^{\circ}$ 이상인 해역이 쿠로시오 난류 수괴로, 수온 $10^{\circ}$이하이며, C. abdominalis가 출현하는 진도 이북해역이 황해 냉수괴로 나타났다. E. plana와 E. russelli가 소량 출현하며, 혼합성 종인 S. bedoti가 출현하는 수온 $12-14^{\circ}$인 제주도-진도간 해역은 혼합 수괴인 것으로 나타났다. 8월의 경우, 수온 약층을 경계로 하여 0-20m층과 20m- 저층으로 분리하여 수괴를 분석하였다. 0-20m 층의 경우, E. plana와 E. russelli가 출현하는 대흑산도까지 난류가 미치며, 집괴 분석 및 수괴지표성 종의 분포로써 볼 때 수괴는 연안에서 외양으로 가면서 크게 대별되어졌다. 20m-저층의 경우, 난류성 종인 E. russelli와 E. plana가 출현하며 수온이 $12^{\circ}C$이상인 제주도 서북방 해역이 난류의 영향을 받는 해역으로 나타났으며, 저온성 종인 C. abdominalis가 출현하는 진도 이북 해역이 황해 냉수괴인 것으로 나타났다. 하계 0-20m층의 진도부관 해역 및 20m- 저층의 진도 이북 해역에서 C. abdominalis가 출현하는 것으로 보아 냉수괴가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다.

白鼠에서 乳糖과 칼슘이 急性 납중독에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Lactose and Calcium on the Acute Lead Poisoning in Rats)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of lactose in 4 different concentrations against the protective effect of calcium on the acute lead poisoning in rats after 4 weeks treatment. In this animal experiment, 70 albino male weanling rats (50-70g of body weight) of Sprague-Dawley strain were used. Lead was dissolved in the distilled water and intubated at the dose of 400mg lead (as acetate)/ kg of body weight/day. Calcium and lactose were administered in drinking water ad libiturn dissolved with the solution of 0.7% calcium gluconate mixed with 40, 80, 160 and 320mM lacotse respectively. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The rate of body weight gain in all treated groups turned out to be lower than that in the control group during 4 weeks treatment. The slow-down of body weight gain was the most significantly observed in the group treated with lead only ( p < 0.05). 2. The relative spleen weight in lead only treated group was significantly lower than that of lead + calcium, lead + calcium + 80mM lactose treated group ( p < 0.05). 3. The value of RBC, WBC, Hb and Hct showed a decreasing tendency in the group treated with lead only ( p < 0.05), however, a significant decrease was not observed in the group treated with lead + calcium. On the other hand, the protective effect of calcium was deteriorated in the group treated with lead + calcium + lactose. 4. The activity of $\delta$-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase ($\delta$-ALAD activity) showed the same tendency as No. 2. 5. The lead concentration in the blood (PbB) showed an increasing tendency and the interrelation among the different groups was also identical with No. 2. 6. With a statistical approach, it was found out that the activity of $\delta$-ALAD and the lead concentration in the blood show a relation of inverse proportion(r=-0.7301). The diagram was interpreted with the logarithmic equation InY = 5.5357-0.0251X (X:PbB, Y:$\delta$-ALAD activity). 7. In the histopathological findings of the kidney, the protective effect of calcium was observed. However, the protective effect of calcium was restricted in the group treated with lead + calcium + lactose. As a conclusion, the intensity of the acute ingested lead poisoning was obviously reduced by calcium, however, the protective effect of calcium was deteriorated in proportion with the concentration of the lactose to be administered. On the other hand, it was also noted that the deterioration was lightly restrained in the group treated with the physiological concentration of 80mM lactose than the results shown in the groups treated with lactose of other concentrations.

경기도 광주지방 22년생 잣나무 및 신갈나무림의 물질생산량과 무기영양물분포 (Primary Production and Nutrients Distribution in 22-year-old Pinus koraiensis and Quercus mongolica Stands in Kwangju District)

  • 잣나무림과 신갈나무림의 물질생산량과 영양물질의 현존량을 추정하기 위하여 경기도 광주군 도척면에 위치하는 22년생 임지에 10x10m 조사구 10개씩을 설치하여 직경급을 안배한 표목본 10주씩을 벌목, 간(Ws), 지(Wb), 엽(Wl) 부위로 나누어 건중량을 측정, $D^2H$와 건중량과의 상대생장식에 의해 물질생산량을 추정하였다. 생산구조면에서 광합성부가 잣나무는 지상 4.2m, 신갈나무는 지상 6.2m에서 시작되었고, 수관의 최대광합성층은 각각 7.2m, 9.2m에서 출현하였다. 잎, 가지, 줄기의 건중량과 $D^2H$와의 상대생장식에서 두 수종 모두 유의성이 인정되었다. 현존량은 잣나무림이 152.07ton/ha(지상부 124.92ton/ha, 지하부 27.15t/ha), 신갈나무림이 156.02t/ha(지상부 120.65t/ha, 지하부 35.37t/ha)이었고, 연간순생산량은 각각 24.66t/ha$\cdot$yr이었고, 간재생산능률은 각각 0.62kg/kg$\cdot$yr, 1.10kg/kg$\cdot$yr이었다. 영양물질의 현존량은 잣나무림에서는 질소, 칼슘, 마그네슘은 대부분이 광물질토양층($0\~30$cm)에, 인과 카리는 교목층에 대부분이 함유되어 있었으며, 신갈나무림에서는 질소, 인, 카리, 마그네슘은 대부분이 광물질토양층에, 칼슘은 대부분이 교목층에 분포하였다. 8개월간($3\~11$월)에 채취된 낙엽량은 잣나무림에서 4.013t/ha, 신갈나무림에서 3.490t/ha이었다.
