Photoluminescence property of ZnO nanoparticle prepared by microwave irradiation method

  • ZnO nanoparticle was successfully prepared by microwave irradiation method in various oxygen/nitrogen ratio atmospheres. The product prepared in a low oxygen ratio atmosphere showed tetra pod shape with high aspect ratio, c/a. PL spectra of the products showed higher UV emission intensity than the others when it was prepared in the atmosphere oxygen/nitrogen=40/60.

  • IGZO의 접합특성을 조사하기 위해서 진공 중에서와 대기 중에서 열처리를 하여, 전지적인 특성을 조사하였다. 진공 중에서 열처리를 한 IGZO는 비정질특성을 나타내었지만 대기 중에서 열처리를 하면 결정질 특성을 가졌다. 열처하는 방법에 따라서 산소공공의 함량이 달라지기 때문이다. 대기 중에서 열처리를 하면 IGZO의 산소공공이 증가하였다. 산소공공은 전류를 증가시키고 따라서 대기 중에서 열처리를 한 IGZO는 오믹 접합을 나타내었다. 그러나 진공 중에서 열처리를 한 IGZO는 쇼키접합을 나타냈다.

  • ZnO nanowires were synthesized and annealed at various temperatures of $500-800^{\circ}C$ in oxygen atmosphere to investigate hydrogen gas sensing properties. The diameter and length of the synthesized ZnO nanowires were approximately 50-100 nm and a few $10s\;{\mu}m$, respectively. $H_2$ gas sensing performance of the ZnO nanowires sensor was measured with electrical resistance changes caused by $H_2$ gas with a concentration of 0.1-2.0%. The response of ZnO nanowires at room temperature to 2.0% $H_2$ gas is found to be two times enhanced by annealing process in $O_2$ atmosphere at $800^{\circ}C$. In the current study, the effect of heat treatment in $O_2$ atmosphere on the gas sensing performance of ZnO nanowires was studied. And the underlying mechanism for the sensing improvement of the ZnO nanowires was also discussed.

CA저장을 위한 폴리이미드 막 시스템의 질소-산소 분리특성 (Nitrogen-Oxygen Separation Characteristics by Polyimide Membrane System for Controlled Atmosphere Storage)

  • 폴리이미드 고분자막을 사용한 질소부하 장치를 설계하고, 이를 CA 저장에 활용하기 위한 기술적 기본 데이터를 제시하였다. 순수 산소 및 질소의 투과특성은 dual-mode sorption 모델로서 설명될 수 있었으며, 공기 중의 산소의 투과율은 공기 중에 존재하는 질소의 영향으로 순수 산소의 투과율에 비해 크게 감소하나, 공기 중의 질소의 투과율은 산소의 영향으로 순수 질소의 투과율에 비해 증가하였다. 수행한 압력 및 온도 범위 내에서 이상분리인자는 5에서 6 사이의 값을 나타내었으며, 공기의 분리인자는 이상분리인자보다 작은 값을 나타내었다. 산소의 투과활성화에너지가 질소의 투과 활성화에너지보다 커서 이상분리인자는 온도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였다. 제품회수율이 증가함에 따라 농축부의 질소농도는 급격히 감소하였으며, 이로부터 제품회수율은 CA 저장고에서 요구되는 질소농도를 얻기 위한 주요 조업인자임을 알 수 있었다. Polyimide 막 시스템을 이용한 CA 저장 공정의 가상적인 모형을 설정하고, 시스템의 조업시간에 따른 저장고의 질소농도를 예측할 수 있는 관계식을 제시하였다.

  • The $Sr_{0.7}Bi_{2.6}Ta_2O_9$(SBT) thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode(Pt/$TiO_2/SiO_2$/Si) using RF magnetron sputtering method. The structural and electrical properties of SBT capacitors were influenced with annealing atmosphere. In the XRD pattern, the SBT thin films in all annealed atmosphere had (105) orientation. In the SEM images, Bi-layered perovskite phase was crystallized in all annealing atmosphere and grains largely grew in oxygen annealing atmosphere. The maximum remanent polarization and the coercive electric field in oxygen annealing atmosphere are $12.40[{\mu}C/cm^2]$ and 30[kV/cm] respectively. The fatigue characteristics of SBT capacitors did not change up to $10^{10}$ switching cycles.

Superconducting transitions of LuBa2Cu3O7-z heated under various atmospheres

  • The influence of quenching temperature, heating atmosphere and annealing time on superconducting characteristics has been studied for $LuBa_2Cu_3O_{7-z}$ compound which has been recently synthesized in a nearly phase-pure form. Resistivity measurements for the as-prepared sample heated at $300^{\circ}C$ in oxygen and subsequently quenched into liquid nitrogen revealed that there is no significant change in $T_c$. On the other hand, $T_c$ of the sample slightly increased when the sample was heated at $300^{\circ}C$ either in air or in $N_2$ atmosphere. It was also found that $T_c$ of the sample decreased when the annealing temperature in $N_2$ atmosphere increased above $400^{\circ}C$. The experimental results indicated that the as-prepared sample is under overdoped state. The enhanced superconducting transition observed in the samples after heating at $300^{\circ}C$ in air or $N_2$ atmosphere was discussed in conjunction with a slight removal of oxygen and ordering of oxygen atoms in the as-prepared sample.

문화재의 생물열화 방제-훈증처리를 중심으로 (Biodeterioration of Cultural Property and Fumigation)

  • A great numbers of cultural properties destroyed though attack by insect pests and microorganisms. Biodeterioration damage is particularly serious in this country because many cultural propertiese are made of organic materials. Recently, there are various countermeasures of biodeterioration or alternative methods are reported, such as Gamma Radiation, Micro-wave Irridation, Freezing, Inert Atmosphere (Oxygen-less atmosphere), and Environmental Control. However its practical application are limited and some difficulties for treatment of large objects. Fumigation is one of the most useful and effective methods of control biodeterioration because it gives less damage of cultural properties but rapidly eradicate infesting organisms at one action. This paper evaluated selected fumigants and fumigation methods with emphasis on the following paragraph:1) Effectiveness of selected fumigants on insects and microbes involved inbiodeterioration.2) Physical and chemical characters of selected fumigants.3) Less toxic new alternative fumigant and its mixtures.4) Inert atmosphere (Oxygen-less atmosphere)5) Methods of fumigation : Sealed fumigation, Covered fumigation and Vacuum fumigation (Reduced-pressure fumigation)

방사선 조사 환경에 의한 에칠렌 프로필렌 고무의 전기 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Irradiation Environment Effects on the Electrical Properties of Ethylene Propylene Rubber)

  • The charge and discharge current in EPR(Ethylene Propylene Rubber), which were irradiated with the radiant capacity of 0~600 [kgy/h], have been measured in order to investigate the influence of the atmosphere (oxygen, air and vacuum) on electrical properties. It has been shown that the charge and discharge current increase as the amount of radiant capacity increases in air and vacuum atmosphere. This electrical property degradation can be speculated due to that the C=O radicals or impurities, which comes from during shaping process, may act as dipoles. On the other hand, the charge and discharge current are shown to be higher in the amount of 1[kgy/h] than these in 10[kgy/h] in air atmosphere, because the charge and discharge current can be increased as the exposure time is extended with slower rate. Under the same amount of irradiation, the charge and discharge current in oxygen atmosphere are shown to be higher than those in vacuum. This is possibly due to that the main chain can be broken by oxidation when it is exposed to the $\gamma$ -rays.

  • Influence of cooling atmosphere on the whiteness in white portland cement was studied. The effective composition of gaseous medium of cooling atmosphere is desirable less than 0.5% of $O_2$ and 0.5~1.5% of CO. When theclinker is quenched in nitrogen atmosphere, the color of clinker becomes bright pink. In a weakly reducing gaseous medium or vacuum, the absence of oxygen brings defects in crystal and transformation in the coordination of iron, and as a result, whiteness is raised.

  • Mechanical alloying under various gas atmospheres such as Ar, an Ar-$H_2$ mixture, and He gases were carried out, and its effects on the powder properties, microstructure and mechanical properties of ODS ferritic steels were investigated. Hot isostatic pressing and hot rolling processes were employed to consolidate the ODS steel plates. While the mechanical alloyed powder in He had a high oxygen concentration, a milling in Ar showed fine particle diameters with comparably low oxygen concentration. The microstructural observation revealed that low oxygen concentration contributed to the formation of fine grains and homogeneous oxide particle distribution by the Y-Ti-O complex oxides. A milling in Ar was sufficient to lower the oxygen concentration, and this led a high tensile strength and fracture elongation at a high temperature. It is concluded that the mechanical alloying atmosphere affects oxygen concentration as well as powder particle properties. This leads to a homogeneous grain and oxide particle distribution with excellent creep strength at high temperature.
