해외 발전플랜트 리스크 분류체계 및 관계형 데이터베이스 구축 방안 (Risk Classification and Relational Database Schema in Overseas Power Plant Construction)

  • Due to the decreasing domestic construction market since 2007, Korean construction companies are expanding overseas market. As a result, the international market share by Korea has been continuously increased and achieved 65.2 billion dollars in 2013. Despite of such visible results, profitability concerns are constantly arising. It is pointed out that the low-priced bid competition between Korean construction companies and various unpredictable risks are the most crucial factors which aggravate the profitability in the overseas projects. From this point of view, predicting the risks in advance and controling them could be the most important tasks to improve the profitability. This research proposed 202 risk factors with a hierarchy and relational database schema for power plant construction, which is based on the 24 risk classifications in previous research (Kim & Jung 2013). Proposed risk classification and relational database schema could be utilized as the basic data in risk management system.

  • 최근 글로벌 전자상거래 시장규모는 빠른 속도로 성장하고 있다. 글로벌 전자상거래의 한 형태로서 해외직구는 글로벌 시장규모가 2020년에 1조 달러에 육박할 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구는 B2B 해외직구 및 역직구의 결정요인을 도출함으로써 이를 통해 이러한 요인들이 중소기업의 해외직구 역직구의 활성화에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 궁극적으로 중소기업의 수출확대에 대한 정책적 시사점을 제공하고자 하는 것이 연구의 주요한 목적이다. 이를 위해 해외직구의 개념을 정립한 후, 자원기반이론과 산업구조이론을 근거해서 선행연구를 통해 해외직구 역직구 시장에서 우리나라 중소기업이 성과를 내기 위해 필요한 요인들을 도출하였다. 이후, 개념적 연구모형과 연구가설을 설정하고, 설문자료를 다중회귀모델로 실증 분석하였다. 분석결과, 기업정보, 물류배송, 통관절차, 법 제도는 해외직구 역직구에 대해서 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 선행연구가 해외직구의 피해사례와 대응 중심이었던데 반해, 해외직구 시장전체를 조망하였고, 우리나라 중소기업의 입장에서 해외직구 역직구 시장에서 성과를 내기 위한 영향요인을 도출하였다는 점에서 기존연구와 차별성을 갖는다. 또한 본 연구 결과로 해외직구 시장에 참여하는 중소기업과 정책을 입안하는 정부에 대해 전략적인 방향성을 제시하고 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

온라인 매칭 및 물류시스템이 역직구 활성화에 미치는 영향-국가신뢰의 매개 효과 (The Effect of An Online Matching and Logistics System on Reverse Overseas Direct Purchase: The Mediating Effect of Reliability)

  • Recently, traditional trade in the global trade market has stagnated in the aftermath of the US-China trade war and the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, the global e-commerce market is growing rapidly, presenting a new opportunity for exports. To examine the effect of an online matching and logistics system on reverse overseas direct purchase and the mediating effect of reliability, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 320 employees in a Korean trade company from March 10 to April 30, 2018. The study model's goodness of fit was tested, and an analysis was performed using the AMOS statistical package. The online matching and logistics system were found to have a positive effect on reverse overseas direct purchase. Furthermore, results revealed that while a country's reliability mediated online matching and reverse overseas direct purchase, it did not mediate the logistics system. These results mean that online matching is affected by a country's reliability in overseas consumers' buying decision process. This study provides implications for the future directions of export companies and national policies to promote reverse overseas direct purchase. Future research including more countries and companies would be able to make further contributions toward the development of the Korean cross-border e-commerce industry.

장수명주택 해외진출을 위한 대상국가의 외부환경분석 (External Environment Analysis of Target Countries for Overseas Expansion of Long-life Housing)

  • Currently, the Korean construction industry is shifting its interest to the overseas construction market because of a stagnating domestic market. In the meantime, the international housing construction market is expanding with respect to new city development projects that are supported by population growth and urban migration. Despite the Korean construction industry's expertise in new city development, technology, and systems for apartment supply, the share of Korean players in the international housing construction market is continuously decreasing. As a measure to overcome this situation, the authors of this study considered the paper "The Development of a Cost Effective, Long-life Housing Model and Construction of Testbed," which is currently in progress as a part of national project. Through literature review and interviews with experts, the authors determined that there are "column+minimum interior (infill)" apartments that are similar to the long-life housing in some areas of China, Southeast Asia, and Russia. Candidate countries expected to be feasible for the entry of long-life housing were selected by determining the top countries that have already entered the long-life housing market and analyzing those selections through additional specific techniques. 국내 건설업체의 해외진출 활성화 방안 (Improvement plan going into other countries of domestic construction companies)

  • 우리 건설기업의 기술경쟁력은 선진국의 70$\sim$80% 수준으로 평가되고 있고, 저임금 노동력을 기반으로 한 중국 동남아 등 후발국가와는 가격경쟁에서도 우위를 점하기 어려운 국면에 처해있다. 최근 국내 건설업체의 해외수주액이 증가하고 있지만, 이를 지원해 줄 수 있는 정부의 실효성있는 지원정책이 부족한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 고에서는 우리나라 건설기업의 해외진출을 활성화하기 위하여 해외건설업계의 요구사항을 분석하고, 선진국의 해외건설 지원시스템을 벤치마킹하여 해외건설 지원체계의 개선방안을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 건설금융 및 보험지원 활성화를 위하여, 해외건설공사 보증지원방안과 공적개발원조의 건설공사 연계방안을 제안하였다. 둘째, 해외시장개척 활동강화를 위하여, 해외시장조사 확대방안과 해외건설 무역관 설립, 신 비지니모델 구축방안을 제안하였다. 셋째, 해외건설 전문인력 및 기술인프라 구축을 위하여 해외건설 수주정보 지원방안과 해외건설사업의 전문인력 양성방안, 해외건설협력 체계 구축방안을 제안하였다.

  • 건설엔지니어링의 사업비는 공사비의 $3{\sim}5%$정도에 지나지 않으나, 최종 사업목적물의 성능을 결정하는데 커다란 영향을 미치고 있어 매우 중요하다. 그러나 국내 건설기술수준에 대한 전문가 인식도 조사결과에 따르면 설계를 비롯한 우리나라의 엔지니어링능력은 선진국의 70%도 되지 않는 것으로 조사되어 해외진출 위한 국제경쟁력에 심각한 문제가 있는 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 국내외 건설엔지니어링 시장동향을 조사 분석하기 위하여 베트남 건설엔지니어링 시장분석을 위해 국내 해외건설 관련업체를 대상으로 해외진출시 문제점 및 전략에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 기존 문헌의 분석을 통하여 기본적인 이론의 정립과 함께 국내외 전문가 면담조사, 해외출장 등을 통하여 광범위한 의견수렴을 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국내 건설엔지니어링업체의 베트남 시장을 진출하기 위한 시장분석 결과를 토대로 베트남진출전략 방안을 마련하였으며 해외진출 활성화 방안으로서 현지화 기반구축, 기획제안형 사업창출, 공적개발원조의 지원 확대방안 등을 제안하였다.

Survey of Korean CM Contracts for Current Status and Future Direction: Based on 1997 to 2013 Statistics

  • As domestic construction investment has been gradually reduced, expanding overseas construction is one of the most important issues for Korean construction companies. Among these issues, strategies for overseas CM services have widely been discussed, because the CM services have features of high growth potential and value-added area when compared with other construction sectors. Therefore, recent efforts focus on further development in advanced CM capabilities and expansion to overseas market. However, there has been lack of quantitative research to investigate current status and future direction of CM industry. In this sense, this research investigated what CM has achieved for the past 17years (between 1997 and 2013) and what CM should accomplish for future strategies. The purpose of this research is to statistically analyze total of 2,983 CM service contracts over the past 17 years published in KISCON (Knowledge Information System of Construction Industry) in order to examine current status of CM industry in terms of market type, contract size, commodity type, and owner's type. Based on this research, it is expected to suggest for future strategies and development directions from the CM industry perspective that could provide quantitative analyses, improve current CM statistics systems and strengthen the competitiveness in international CM market.

의료기기산업의 수출경쟁력 분석 및 강화방안 -강원지역 의료기기산업을 중심으로- (The Analysis and Strengthening Method of Export Competitive Power of Medical Device Industry - With Respect to Medical Device Industry in Gangwon Area)

  • The purpose of this paper is to make research on the trend of the worldwide medical device market, the trend of the medical device market in the major foreign countries, the present status of the medical device industry in Korea and Gangwon area, the present status of export competitive power and the SWOT analysis of competitive power of the medical device industry in Gangwon area, and the strengthening methods of export competitive power of the medical device industry in Gangwon area. As the research method, the questionaire for the strengthening of export competitive power of the medical device industry in Gangwon area was carried out from August 13 to Otober 22, 2009. The worldwide medical device market in 2008 is estimated at USD 210.2 billion, with the United States being the largest market, followed closely by Japan and Western Europe. In 2006, the worldwide export amount of medical devices recorded USD 121.1 billion and the worldwide import amount of medical devices recorded USD 126.3 billion. As of the end of 2008, the number of Korea's medical device manufacturers expanded to 1,726. The production amount of Korea's medical device industry in 2008 recorded 2,525 billion won, and the domestic market volume of medical devices in 2008 recorded 3,618 billion won. Korea's export amount of medical devices in 2008 recorded USD 1,132 million and recorded a 9.67% growth compared to the previous year, and the import amount of medical devices recorded USD 2,123 million and recorded a 1.43% reduction compared to the previous year. As of the end of 2008, the number of Gangwon area's medical device manufacturers expanded to 81. The production amount of Gangwon area's medical industry in 2008 recorded 380 billion won, and Gangwon area's export amount of medical devices recorded USD 269 million and recorded a 0.25% reduction compared to the previous year, and the import amount of medical devices recorded USD 3 million and recorded a 39.63% reduction compared to the previous year. According to the result analysis of the questionaire for the strengthening of export competitive power of medical device industry in Gangwon area(August 13~October 22, 2009), the competing country of the export medical device is the United States being the highest ranking. Comparing to the collective competitive power level 100 of the competing country, the collective competitive level of the export medical device is 60 below and 70-80 below being the highest ranking. Comparing to the quality level 100 of the United States, EU and Japan, the quality level of the export medical device is 80-90 below being the highest ranking. Comparing to the design level 100 of the United States, EU and Japan, the design level of the export medical device is 90-100 below being the highest ranking. Comparing to the technology level 100 of the United States, EU and Japan, the technology level of the export medical device is 80-90 below being the highest ranking. According to the SWOT analysis of competitive power of medical device industry in Gangwon area, the strength is the abundant expert manpower of the medical device in Wonju area. The weakness is the fragility of the brand recognition of the medical device industry. The opportunity is the demand increase of the new medical device owing to the advanced age of population. The threat is the difficulty of entry into overseas market owing to the request of the new specification certification of the medical device. In order to strengthen the export competitive power of the medical device industry in Gangwon area, the following measures should be taken by the government, local self-government body, related organization and medical device industry : the development of new technology and design, the enhancement of brand recognition. the acquisition of the foreign specification certification, the building of overseas distribution channel and after sales service channel, the positive participation in overseas medical device exhibition and opening of medical device exhibition, the training of expert manpower, the strengthening of overseas marketing, and the application of FTA and the establishment of counter measures against FTA. In conclusion, the medical device industry in Gangwon area has the difficulty in the entry into the overseas market owing to the shortage of overseas marketing capability. Therefore, the government and local self-government body should make the intensive and systematical support for overseas marketing of the medical device industry. For the support of overseas marketing, the government and local self-government body should provide positively the support of expenses for the acquisition of foreign specification certification, the support of participation in the overseas medical device exhibition, the despatch of market development mission, the increase of the support amount for R&D investment fund, and the training of expert manpower of medical devices.

산업구조와 가치사슬이 신흥국 진출 성공에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Industry Architectures and Supply Chains on Successful Expansion in Emerging Markets)

  • Korean firms have been vigorously searching and exploring overseas market opportunities through export and overseas investment. As of end of 2019, there were more than 80,000 Korean overseas subsidiaries all over the world. With Korean overseas direct investment increasing recently, it became one of the important issues for overseas investors to be successful in the global market. There are a lot of studies on factors influencing the performance of overseas subsidiaries such as 'firm' and 'country' factors. This study empirically examines subsidiary performance determinants with 'industry architectures' by using a sample of 292 overseas Korean firm subsidiaries. Industry architectures are the stable but evolving sets of rules and roles through which labor is divided within a sector. This article considers how industry architectures shape success in international expansion. Industry architectures differ between countries, are not necessarily technologically determined, shape firms' capabilities and their competitive environment, and constitute a distinct level of analysis. We extract antecedents of related theory and empirically test its impact with a survey of Korean firms expanding in emerging economies. We would say this is the first study which tries to focus on industry architectures with the performance of Korean overseas subsidiaries. We find that separability and similarity of industry architectures across countries and localization of subsidiaries are robust and important predictors of success in international expansion. Our results suggest that industry architectures should be added to firm and country as an intermediate level of analysis that helps explain success in international expansion. While we established a pattern, much more remains to be done. We focus on the success of foreign operations, but we do not consider the broader benefits of going abroad, such as the learning or network effects that accrue at the level of the entire firm. The next obvious question is whether the results would differ in the developed market context. These we leave for future research to consider.

해외건설 실적분석을 통한 문제점 도출 및 시장 확대방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on International Market Share Expansion Based on Derived Problems from Performance Record Analysis on Overseas Construction)

  • 외환위기 이후 서서히 회복하던 국내 건설시장은 정부의 지속적인 부동산 규제 정책으로 최근 들어 급속히 위축되어 가고 있다. 반면 해외건설시장은 세계경제의 성장과 더불어 WTO(World Trade Organization)체제 출범이후 시장개방이 가속화되어 지속적인 성장을 하고 있고, 또한 최근의 고유가로 인한 중동을 중심으로 한 산유국들의 발주량 증가는 국내건설업체들에게 해외 진출의 좋은 기회가 되고 있다. 그러나 우리나라 건설업체들은 해외시장에서 선진국의 기술력과 중국 등 후발국의 추격으로 입지가 줄어들고 있는 실정이다. 이 연구에서는 1970년대부터 지금까지 우리나라 해외건설 수주실적 자료를 분석하여 우리나라 건설산업이 지나온 흔적들을 하나씩 살펴보고, 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 우리나라 건설업체들의 문제점들을 찾아보고자 한다. 이를 통해 나타난 현재 우리나라 해외건설시장의 문제점들에 대한 해결방안을 제시함으로써 향후 해외건설시장 확대에 도움이 되는 분석적인 자료를 제공하고자 한다.
