  • This paper describes the results of ground fault analysis on HVDC Transmission Line using TNA (Transient Network Analyzer). The maximum overvoltage is about 1.7 p.u. in the case of single line to ground fault on the overhead transmission line. When the cable is linked to the end of the overhead transmission line, the maximum overvoltage is about 1.58 p.u..

  • The distribution live-line work method is an operation method of working in a state in which electricity flows through overhead distribution lines to minimize inconvenience to electric customers due to power failure. In June 2016, to strengthen the safety of electrical workers, Korea Electric Power Corporation announced that it would in principle abolish the rubber glove method, in which workers wore protective equipment such as rubber gloves and performed their maintenance work. In addition, KEPCO announced that it would develop a short-range live working method using smart sticks and an advanced live-line maintenance robot system where workers work without touching wires directly. This paper is a preliminary study for the development of the live-line maintenance robot system, and deals with the results of analyzing the technical feasibility of whether the live works performed by workers can be replaced by robots or not.

실증시험선로를 이용한 도체귀로형 HVDC ±500 kV Double Bipole 가공송전선로의 이온류 특성 평가 (Ion Effects of HVDC ±500 kV Double Bipole Overhead Transmission Line with Metallic Return Conductor Using Full-scale Test Line)

  • 국내에 향후 건설 예정인 도체귀로형 HVDC ±500 kV Double Bipole 가공송전선로의 최적선로 형상을 설계하고 송전선로에서 발생되는 전기환경장해를 검증하기 위해 실증시험장을 구축하여 1년간 전기환경장해 평가시험을 수행하였다. 또한, HVDC Double Bipole 실선로에서 인체의 지표면 전계인지도 평가시험을 통해 HVDC 실규모 실증선로 직하에서 인체가 직류 전계를 감지하는 임계값을 조사하여 HVDC ±500 kV Double Bipole 가공송전선로의 직류전계 설계기준안의 타당성을 검증하였다. HVDC ±500 kV Double Bipole 시험선로의 극형상은 전기환경장해와 운영관점에서 동일한 극성을 대각으로 배치하였으며, 국내 가공송전선로의 전기환경장해의 사회적인 수용성을 고려하여 선로에서 코로나방전이 거의 발생되지 않도록 소도체 방식은 6 도체를 선정하였다. 도체귀로형 HVDC ±500 kV Double Bipole 가공송전선로 방식인 Cardinal×6B를 적용한 실증시험결과, 선로 도체에서 코로나 방전이 거의 발생되지 않았으며, 따라서 지표면 전계와 이온전류밀도는 모두 국내 가공송전선로 설계 기준값을 만족하였다. 또한 선로직하에서 피조사자들에 대한 전계 인지도 평가결과, 피조사자들의 70%는 23 kV/m에 노출되어도 직류전계를 인지하지 못하는 결과를 나타냈다.

22.9kV 배전선로 비행점검 방법 적용에 관한 연구 (The Study on Application of Flying Inspection Method for the 22.9kV Distribution Line)

  • This paper describes flying inspection apparatus for 22.9kV distribution line. This apparatus is composed of multi-copter(more than 4 propellers), camcorder and remote controller. The existing inspections, such as hot-line inspection job and optical inspection method and distribution Line Checking Robot, have many restrictions. A electric working vehicle and hot-line job license are essential in hot-line inspection job. Besides its high cost, it can't be applied to the electric pole over 18m and road-blocked area. Optical method can't inspect upper side of electric facilities mounted on the electric pole. Robot method can't be applied to the corroded overhead earth wire and nothing of overhead earth wire. To solve the problems, in Korea Electric Power Co., we have applied flying inspection apparatus to the 22.9kV distribution line. The results of trial application show that this paper is practical and effective for the inspection technical method in 22.9kV distribution line

An Improved Method for Fault Location based on Traveling Wave and Wavelet Transform in Overhead Transmission Lines

  • An improved method for detecting fault distance in overhead transmission lines is described in this paper. Based on single-ended measurement, propagation theory of traveling waves together with the wavelet transform technique is used. In estimating fault location, a simple, but fundamental method using the time difference between the two consecutive peaks of transient signals is considered; however, a new method to enhance measurement sensitivity and its accuracy is sought. The algorithm is developed based on the lattice diagram for traveling waves. Representing both the ground mode and alpha mode of traveling waves, in a lattice diagram, several relationships to enhance recognition rate or estimation accuracy for fault location can be found. For various cases with fault types, fault locations, and fault inception angles, fault resistances are examined using the proposed algorithm on a typical transmission line configuration. As a result, it is shown that the proposed system can be used effectively to detect fault distance.

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze the dynamic responses of pantograph-overhead contact line coupled system by using a condition monitoring system. The monitoring items are strain, vertical displacement and acceleration of a contact wire. Both strain and vertical displacement in the contact wire depends on uplift force and train velocity. Measurement of acceleration shows that the passage of the pantograph gives an impact force to a hard point on a contact wire.

화염노출에 의한 송전선로 인바 강심의 온도 및 인장하중 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Temperature and Tensile Load Analysis of Invar by Flame Exposure on Overhead Transmission Lines)

  • This paper describes the conductor temperature and tensile load analysis of invar by flame exposure on STACIR(Super Thermal-resistance Aluminium-alloy Conductors Reinforced) overhead transmission line based on real fault phenomena. Firstly, short-circuit fault by flame exposure is analysed by EMTP/ATP simulation, then the cutting causes of Al layer are also discussed. And then, the conductor temperature is calculated based on IEC 60949 according to 3 kinds of materials including invar, Al conductor and ACSR when same load current respectively flows in 3 kinds of material, they are compared each other. Finally, the tensile load tests are performed with various samples including new invar, used invar for a long time and invar exposed flame.

  • Compacting of Overhead power transmission lines can be helpful in solving many problems, such as reduction of land and forest losses. decrease of the line's environmental impact zones, improvement of its electrical performance. And in overhead transmission lines, regular polygon configuration of bundled conductors are considered and adopted. This papers are compared to subconductor surface charges and electric field gradients, line parameters, natural capacities for regular polygon and modified configurations in 345kV 4 bundle 2 circuits horizontal type transmission lines.

  • As jumpers for overhead transmission lines increase In size, it Is necessary to take into the characteristics of jumper swaying space in order to determine jumper reinforcements adequately. From the theory of a structure made of beams, formulas for the sideway swaying of overhead transmission lines due to wind are modeled. And also natural frequency of the vibrated jumper is estimated to check the system resonance. The theoretical results can be led good suggestions to improve the economy and reliability of jumper structure.

  • Using the EMTP(Electro Magnetic Transient Program) for the analysis of lightning direct voltage on the railway system, the shielding effects of overhead grounding wire on the railway were studied quantitatively. Installation of overhead ground wire and gap-type arrester such as s-horn Provides a 6.6㎸ HV distribution line with good protection effects. Even severe lightning induced voltage were create, 6.6㎸ HV lines can be withstand.
