An analytical method has been developed for measuring chlorostyrenes in fish tissue sample. Extraction of chlorostyrenes from fish tissue was carried out by ultrasonication using acetone/n-hexane (5:2, v/v) mixture. Most of the lipids in the extract were eliminated by freezing-lipid filtration, prior to solid-phase extraction (SPE) cleanup. During freezing-lipid filtration, about 90% of the lipids extracted from the fish samples were easily removed without any significant losses of chlorostyrenes. For purification, SPE using Florisil was used for the rapid and effective cleanup. Quantification was performed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in the selected ion monitoring mode. Spiking experiments were carried out to determine the recovery, precision, and limits of detection (LODs) of the method. The overall recovery was above 80% in the spiked fish tissue sample at 10 and 100 ng/g levels, respectively. The detection limits for chlorostyrenes were ranged from 0.05 to 0.1 ng/g. This developed method is demonstrated to give efficient recoveries and LODs for detecting chlorostyrenes spiked into fish tissue with high lipid content.
The light and energy-efficiency of classical liquid crystal displays is notoriously poor due to the use of absorption-based linear polarisers and colour filters. For instance, the light efficiency of PVAL polarisers is typically between 40 and 45 % and the colour filters have a typical efficiency below 35 % which results in a total light and energy-efficiency of the display below 10 %. In the past, a variety of polarizers were developed with an enhanced efficiency in generating linearly polarized light. Typically, these polarizers are based on the polarisationselective reflection, scattering or refraction of light i.e. one polarisation direction of light is directly transmitted to the LCD/viewer and the other polarization direction of light is depolarised and recycled which results in a typical efficiency for generating linearly polarized light of 70-85 %. Also, special colour filters have been proposed based on chiral-nematic reactive mesogens which increase the efficiency of generating colour. Despite the enormous progress in this field, a need persists for improved methods for generating polarized light and colour based on low cost optical components with a high efficiency. Here, the use of holographic phase gratings is reported for the generation of polarized light and colour. The phase grating are recorded in a photopolymer which is coated onto a backor frontlight for LCDs. Typically the recording is performed in the transmisson mode or in the waveguiding mode and slanted phase gratings are generated with their refractive index modulation at an angle between 20o and 45o with the normal of the substrate. It is shown that phase gratings with a high refractive index modulation and a high efficiency can be generated by a proper selection of the photopolymer and illumination conditions. These phase gratings coupleout linearly polarized light with a high contrast (> 100) and the light is directed directly to the LCD/viewer without the need for redirection foils. Dependent on the type of phase grating, the different colours are coupled-out at a slightly different angle which potentially increases the efficiency of classical colour filters. Moreover, the phase gratings are completely transparent in direct view which opens the possibility to use them in frontlights for LCDs. Holographic polarization gratings posses a periodic pattern in the polarization state of light (and not in the intensity of light). A periodic pattern in the polarization direction of linearly polarized light is obtained upon interference of two circularly polarized laser beams. In the second part of the lecture, it is shown that these periodic polarization patterns can be recorded in a linear photo-polymerizable polymer (LPP) and that such an alignment layer induces a period rotation in the director of (reactive and non-reactive) liquid crystals. By a proper design, optical components can be produced with only first order diffraction and with a very high efficiency (>0.98). It is shown that these diffraction gratings are potentially useful in projection displays with a high brightness and energy efficiency
The nonlinear effects on the statistical properties of wave groups in terms of the average nomber of waves in a group and the mean number of waves in a high run is studied in this paper utilizing the complex envelope and total phase function, random variable transformation technique and perturbation method. It tures out that the phase distribution is modified significantly by nonlinearities and it show systematic excess of values near the mean phase and the corresponding symmetrical deficiency on both sides away from the mean. for the case of threshold crossing rate, it turns out that threshold crossing rate reaches its maxima just below the mean water level rather than zero and considerable amount of probability mass is shifted toward the larger values of water surface elevation as nonlinearity is getting profound. Furthermore, the mean waves in a high run associated with nonlinear wave are shown to have larger values than the linear counterpart. Similar trend can also be found in the average number of waves in a group.
To determine 8 anti-impotence drug/drug-like compounds such as sildenafil, vardenafil, tadalafil, homosildenafil, hydroxyhomosildenafil, aminotadalafil, pseudovardenafil and hongdenafil in foods, simultaneously, high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS) were used. The HPLC/UV analysis was performed on a column of capcellpak $C_{18}$ with 0.1% sodium-1-hexansulfonate in 0.2M ammonium formate/acetonitrile as a mobile phase. Mass spectra of the compounds by LC/MS were investigated with SCAN mode(Mass range and Fragment voltage) and SIM(Selected Ion Monitoring) mode (Ion target and Fragment voltage). The results follow as; 1. The HPLC/UV analysis was detected from 5 out of 63 samples. The content of sildenafil was in the range of 32.80 ppm ${\sim}$ 60.13 ppm from 4 out of 5 samples. The contents of sildenafil, vardenafil, homosildenafil were in the range 47.14 ppm from 1 out of 5 samples. 2. The conformed result of LC/MS was equal of detected from 5 out of 63 samples in HPLC/UV analysis. An easily available, simultaneous determination of 8 standards in adulterated health related foods was established by using a combination of LC/MS methods.
The purposes of this study were to develop an electronic-hydraulic draft control system for tractor implements, to investigate the control performance of the system and the possibility of adaptation to the conventional tractor. Experiments were carried out to investigate the responses of the system to the step and sinusoidal inputs in draft control. The effects of control mode, hydraulic flow rate, reference deadband, and proportional constant on control performance of the system were investigated. Moreover, the effects of filtering signals from draft sensor were also investigated. The following conclusions were derived from the study; 1. In draft control, there were hunting problems in controlling the implement without filtering the draft signals. Filtering was performed by a control program of electronic controller and the control performance and stability of the system were improved significantly. 2. For the draft control system operated on on-off control mode, draft was controlled within ${\pm}27-{\pm}55kg_f$ to the reference draft when the hydraulic flow rates were 5-15 l/min. For the draft control system operated on PWM control, draft was controlled within ${\pm}27kg_f$ to the reference draft regardless of hydraulic flow rates. 3. In the frequency responses of the draft control system, control performance on PWM control mode was not better than on on-off control mode because of characteristics of hydraulic valve and drafe sensor. As the hydraulic flow rates increased for the system operated on on-off control mode, the corner frequency of amplitude attenuation increased, but the corner frequency of phase-angle change remained nearly the same. But, the system was unstable beyond the frequency of 3.1 rad/s. 4. The electronic-hydraulic hitch control system developed in this study showed superior control performance, stability and convenience compared to conventional mechanical-hydraulic hitch control system. It is considered to be a superior replacement for the conventional mechanical-hydraulic hitch control system.

In this paper, electric braking performances of linear induction motor(LIM) designed for propelling the MAGLEV are presented. Regenerative braking is carried out from 110km/h to 20km/h, and plugging which converts the direction of travelling magnetic field is carried out in the low speed region below 20km/h. It is important to reduce attractive force which can affect the magnetic levitation load during regenerative braking or plugging operation mode. So in this paper the braking performances are analyzed by finite element method. As a result, braking force, attractive force, phase current, voltage to frequency patterns and its magnetic fields of braking LIM are presented.
In recent years, some converter structures and analyzing methods for the voltage regulation of stand-alone self-excited induction generators (SEIGs) have been introduced. However, all of them are concerned with the three-phase voltage control of three-phase SEIGs or the single-phase voltage control of single-phase SEIGs for the operation of these machines under balanced load conditions. In this paper, each phase voltage is controlled separately through separated converters, which consist of a full-bridge diode rectifier and one-IGBT. For this purpose, the principle of the electronic load controllers supported by fuzzy logic is employed in the two-different proposed converter structures. While changing single phase consumer loads that are independent from each other, the output voltages of the generator are controlled independently by three-number of separated electronic load controllers (SELCs) in two different mode operations. The aim is to obtain a rated power from the SEIG via the switching of the dump loads to be the complement of consumer load variations. The transient and steady state behaviors of the whole system are investigated by simulation studies from the point of getting the design parameters, and experiments are carried out for validation of the results. The results illustrate that the proposed SELC system is capable of coping with independent consumer load variations to keep output voltage at a desired value for each phase. It is also available for unbalanced consumer load conditions. In addition, it is concluded that the proposed converter without a filter capacitor has less harmonics on the currents.
This paper presents a single-phase parallel active power filter with an analog control circuit to eliminate for harmonic source currents generated by nonlinear loads. The proposed system removes the harmonic source currents by injecting a compensation current that is 180' out of phase with the load harmonic current. The detection of the load harmonics is realized by a simple new structure, referred to the Notch Filter with GIC (Generalized Impedance Converter), which has higher Q than existing harmonic detecters and a simpler structure. The compensation current is obtained using the proposed harmonic detection circuit, DC-Link voltage, and output current of the full-bridge inverter controlled current mode PWM controller. The operation of the proposed system is verified experimentally.
Grid-connected inverter is required to cut off the power supplied to the grid at the islanding condition, immediately. For this reason, an islanding detection is an indispensable function for grid-connected distributed generation system. Slip-Mode frequency Shift (SMS) islanding detection method is very popular method to determine the grid state. SMS method supplies the reactive power to the load according to the grid frequency. In the islanding condition of grid, this injected reactive power pulls out the grid frequency from the allowable range, then the inverter system can detect the islanding condition of the grid. The SMS method can detect the islanding state well and does not generate any harmonics of the grid current. However, the reactive power would be generated and the power quality is reduced even though the grid is not islanding condition, but normal condition. In this paper, a modified SMS method is proposed to remove the reactive power in the normal condition. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by 600W single phase inverter experimental results.
an isolated droplet combustion exposed to pressure perturbations in stagnant gaseous environment is numerically conducted. Governing equations are solved for flow parameters at gas and liquid phases separately and thermodynamic parameters at the interfacial boundary are matched for problem closure. For high-pressure effects, vapor-liquid interfacial thermodynamics is rigorously treated. A series of parametric calculations in terms of mean pressure level and wave frequencies are carried out employing a n-pentane droplet in stagnant gaseous air. Results show that the operating pressure and driving frequency have an important role in determining the amplitude and phase lag of a combustion response. Mass evaporation rate responding to pressure waves is amplified with increase in pressure due to substantial reduction in latent heat of vaporization. Phase difference between pressure and evaporation rate decreases due to the reduced thermal inertia at high pressure. In addition to this, augmentation of perturbation frequency also enhances amplification of vaporization rate because the time period for the pressure oscillation is much smaller than the liquid thermal inertia time. The phase of evaporation rate shifts backward due to the elevated thermal inertia at high acoustic frequency.
