Objective : This case report aims to show the effect of Osuyu-tang on an atopic dermatitis. The patient was diagnosed with Yangmyung-byung based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed with Yanamyung-byung and has been unusual dietary habits. So she took Osuyu-tang decoction for 2 weeks. We evaluated the results of treatment by SCORAD Index and before and after treatment photos. Results : After taking Osuyu-tang decoction for 2weeks, the patient's SCORAD INDEX and symptoms was decreased from 49.5(severe) to 3.5(mile). Also, the patient's chronic diagestive disorder improved. Conclusions : This case report showed an effectiveness of using Osuyu-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on atopic dermatitis.

Objective : This study aims to explain the effect of Osuyu-tang on an acne vulgaris which a Soeumbyeong patient has. Methods : This is a case report on a female patient who has been suffering from acne vulgaris which is not controlled by normal dermatological treatments. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Osuyu-tang was provided for fifty days. Results : After a series of Osuyu-tang treatments, the patient's symptoms and result of KAGS improved. Conclusions : This case study showed an effectiveness of using Osuyu-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on acne.

Objectives: This study is to report two cases of adult atopic dermatitis improved by Osuyu-tang. Methods: Osuyu-tang was prescribed to two adult atopic dermatitis patients. The patients took Osuyu-tang 3 times a day for 45 days and 50 days, respectively. Results: In case 1 who complained of redness, erythema, edema, exudation, dryness, erosion, lichenification, scaly, and pruritus, skin symptoms improved from 15 to 2, and pruritus also improved from NRS 8 to 2. In case 2 who complained of redness-centered skin symptoms, skin symptoms improved from 15 to 1, and pruritus also improved from NRS 9 to 1. Conclusions: When Osuyu-tang was prescribed to two patients with adult atopic dermatitis, significant improvement was observed. It is thought that Osyyu-tang can be used as the treatment of other similar diseases in the future.

Objective : This study was intended to evaluate if treatment with Osuyu-Tang following the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions (DPIDS) worked analyzing the progress of patients with migraine and restless legs syndrome and to reinterpret the provision of 309 Soyinbing Osuyu-Tang based on the analysis of whether it worked. Methods : Two cases treated with Soyinbing Osuyu-Tang were analyzed using DPIDS. The migraine and restless legs syndrome in both cases were evaluated using the migraine disability assessment (MIDAS) and the Korean versions of the international restless legs scale (K-IRLS), respectively. Results : In the first case, during 45 days of treatment, the MIDAS decreased from 10 days to 3 days. In the second case, during 30 days of treatment, the K-IRLS decreased from 30 to 9. In both cases, Soyinbing was associated with the disease, although the activity was less; and Leng (冷) was associated with numbness in the kneeling position. Conclusions : It was confirmed that treatment with Osuyu-Tang was effective against migraine and restless legs syndrome and that Leng could be associated with numbness in the kneeling position. The etymological analysis of the Shanghanlun characters suggested the possibility of further clarifying the clinical significance and interpretation of Shanghanlun.

Objective The object of this case report is to evaluate the possibility of utilizing Osuyu-tang as a new therapy of psoriasis.Method Diagnosis and Psoriasis' progress was evaluated based on the patient's chart and picture. Diagnosis based on Sanghanlun was organized by graph. The severity of psoriasis' progress was evaluated by Psoriasis Area Severity Index(PASI) and visually analyzed through picture.Results On PASI and picture, we could confirm psoriasis’s area was decreased from hairline to middle of forehead and redness, thickness, scale of psoriasis also got better.Conclusion Osuyu-tang is efficient to patient of this case report as a treatment.

Objective: This study aimed to report the improvements of with nummular eczema treated using Osuyu-tang based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods: According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on the the patient was diagnosed with lesser-yin disease. The patient was treated with Osuyu-tang for 60 days. The severity of the patients' pruritus decreased, and changes in symptoms were assessed using visual analogue scale score and vIGA-AD^TM Results: The patients' symptoms improved, pruritus decreased, and abrasion healed. Conclusions: The results suggest that the words on the 309th provision of Shanghanlun are a direct cause of nummular eczema.

Objectives : Osuyu-tang of Shanghanlun have historically been proved for clinical validity and stability in the Korean Medicine. It is necessary to review the clinical fields of application, and to review the conformity with the old texts. Methods : As of October 20, 2022, clinical research papers on Osuyu-tang were searched in RISS, Naver, KISS, PUBMED, and Science Direct. The searched articles were classified by clinical subject, and the contents were reviewed by year. Results : As of Oct 20, 2022, the present study looked up thirteen papers. The 13 clinical research papers could be classified into 6 chronic headaches which includes migraine, 2 digestive diseases, 5 skin diseases and 1 restless leg syndrome by subject. Conclusion : As a result of analyzing 13 papers, clinical research achievements on the nervous system and digestive system diseases implied by the provisions in Shanghanlun were accumulating. However, case-level reports on skin diseases require more advanced research in the future.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to inform people that acne can be improved with Osuyu-tang (OSYT) based on the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS). Methods: We evaluated the progress of symptoms, patient compliance, and presence of side effects after the patient took OSYT. The progress of acne treatment was evaluated using the Korean Acne Grading System (KAGS), visual findings, and patient statements. Results: According to the DPIDS, the patient was diagnosed with provision 309 of soyinbing. After administration of OSYTfor 50 days, KAGS decreased from grade 3 to grade 1. Cold hands and feet improved significantly. Conclusions: Through this case study, we showed the possibility of the clinical interpretation and application of OSYT and suggested further case studies in the future.
