This study proposes the mitigation method for overcurrent and oscillation motor current in an active short-circuit operation. This operation is attracting attention as the safe state of electric vehicle traction inverters. However, the active short-circuit operation generates oscillation and overcurrent of motor currents during a transient state. The proposed method uses two different safe states in PMSM, such as active short circuit and freewheeling. The active short circuit is used for safe state in a steady state. To reduce the overshoot and oscillation, a freewheeling state is injected between active short-circuit operation by comparing the motor phase current with an analytically calculated steady-state motor current. Freewheeling state is only used in a transient state. The performance is demonstrated through simulations and experimental results. The peak current of the motor was reduced from 52 A to 40 A, and oscillation time was reduced.
Recently, neural networks with self-adaptability like human brain have attracted much attention. It is desirable for the neuron-function to be implemented by exclusive hardware system on account of huge quantity in calculation. We have proposed a novel neuro-device composed of a MFSFET(ferroelectric gate FET) and oscillation circuit with CUJT(complimentary unijuction transistor) and PUT(programmable unijuction transistor). However, it is difficult to preserve ferroelectricity on Si due to existence of interfacial traps and/or interdiffusion of the constitutent elements, although there are a few reports on good MFS devices. In this paper, we have simulated CUJT and PUT devices instead of fabricating them and composed oscillation circuit. Finally, we have resented, as an approach to the MFSFET neuron circuit, adaptive learning function and characterized the elementary operation properties of the pulse oscillation circuit.
The general output circuit for PWM output is pushpull using a complimentary MOSFET. The gate driver coupled directly at gate can switch easy upto a high frequency. However, a high reverse recovery current and parastic components make a oscillation output. This paper analyses this phenomenon and proposes a novel output circuit preventing the oscillation.
This paper presents a digitally-controlled filter calibration technique for biquad RC filter using self oscillation. The biquad RC filter is converted to a fully-differential ring oscillator by changing its resistor connections, where the oscillation frequency reflects the cut-off frequency. The proposed calibration circuit measures the oscillation frequency by counting with a fixed higher-frequency clock and then tunes it to a desired frequency with a digital frequency-locked loop including a PI controller. Because the proposed circuit directly measures the cut-off frequency of the filter itself and calibrates it with the small area digital circuits, the area and the power consumption are much small compared with conventional works. When it is implemented in a 65nm CMOS process, the calibration circuit except the filter consumes the area of 80um X 50um and power consumption is 443uA at 1.2 V supply voltage.
When a feedback bridging fault is activated in a circuit, logical oscillation may occur at a signal line. If the oscillation appears, the fault may not be detected by logic testing. In order to detect such bridging faults, output logic values of the circuit should be measured at higher frequency than frequency of the logical oscillation. In this paper, a method fur estimating the maximum frequency of logical oscillation is proposed to detect such bridging faults in a circuit by logic testing. Also, it is shown by some experiments that such bridging faults can be detected by measuring output logic values at the frequency obtained by the method.
When a feedback bridging fault is activated, oscillation may be generated in output signal lines. If the oscillation is generated, the fault may not be detected by logic testing. Thus, in the past we proposed a current sensor to detect feedback bridging faults by supply current testing. The sensor circuit design requires the maximum frequency of oscillation which is generated when feedback bridging fault is excited as a specification. In this paper, an estimation method of the oscillation frequency is proposed. Also, it is shown by some experiments that the frequency obtained by the method can be used for the sensor design.
In this study, we may be presented the carrier oscillation properties for the low-voltage varistor fabricated by a new method of three composition seed grain, in order to analyze the behavior of carriers at the its equivalent circuit model. The oscillation phenomena of carriers appeared from current-voltage characteristics under knee voltage is shown by the transient flow of nontrapped carriers group in the trap level of intergranular layer, surface state and/or depletion layer. In particularly, current oscillation phenomena is hardly shown in the high electric field. It is that the injected carriers from both electrodes are directly from the conduction band of forward biased ZnO grain through the intergranular layer into the reverse biased ZnO grain, because the trap level in the electric field above the knee voltage is mostly filled.
This paper presents frequency response compensation technique, and a self-oscillation circuit for capacitive microresonator with the compensation technique using programmable capacitor array, to compensate for the frequency response distorted by parasitic capacitances, and to obtain stable oscillation condition. The parasitic capacitances between the actuation input port and capacitive output port distort the frequency response of the microresonator. The distorted non-ideal frequency response can be compensated using two programmable capacitor arrays, which are connected between anti-phased actuation input port and capacitive output port. The simulation model includes the whole microresonator system, which consists of mechanical structure, transimpedance amplifier with automatic gain control, actuation driver and compensation circuit. The compensation operation and oscillation output of the system is verified with the simulation results.
