Among them, 188 people were used to assess the reliability, and 116 people were used to assess the validity. Results & Conclusions Three items of total 14 items, except for BMI, showed 0.4 or below in Kappa, 3 items were ranged in 0.4-0.6 and 8 items showed 0.6 or over, using 188 people. The concordance rate between the results of KS-15 and diagnosis of experts was 66.4% in 116 people (85.4% in Taeeumin, 47.4% in Soeumin, and 64.9% in Soyangin). The KS-15 could be usable for supporting to diagnose the Sasang constitution of the Vietnamese.
Objectives : Functional dyspepsia is a type of disease characterized by bothersome postprandial fullness, early satiation, epigastric pain and burning without structural gastrointestinal disease. The aim of this study was to analyze the characteristics of functional dyspepsia patients and evaluate changes in symptoms, quality of life, and electrogastrography parameters before and after oriental medical interventions. Methods : We recruited forty-six functional dyspepsia patients who visited gastroenterology clinic in the oriental medicine hospital of Kyung Hee University between November 2009 and February 2011. Patients were assessed for their frequency of dyspepsia (based on short form-Leeds Dyspepsia Questionnaire: SF-LDQ), quality of life (based on functional dyspepsia-related quality of life questionnaire: FD-QoL), gastric motility (based on electrogastrography: EGG) on the first visit. Then, the effect of oriental medical interventions was evaluated using EGG on the second visit. Results : The majority of patients had symptoms of nausea and indigestion. The largest decrease in EGG parameters was found in the indigestion group. The frequency of regurgitation and postprandial EGG power % bradygastria showed a significant correlation. Also, significant correlations were found between some items of FD-QoL and some EGG parameters. Compared to the EGG parameters before oriental medical interventions, some parameters after treatment had positive results, implying the improvement of gastric motility disorder. We also found improvement of EGG parameters in both digestant medicinal group and digestant combined with qi-tonifying medicinal group. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that clinical application of EGG can be an objective diagnostic tool in functional dyspepsia patients visiting oriental medical hospital.

Ninety-one percent of the respondents said they intended to use a standard chart, and 82.19% agreed to share patient information with medical institutions. Conclusions : Over 90 percent of the oriental medical doctors surveyed said they need a standard medical examination program. Oriental medical examination items that correspond with the opinions of the oriental medical doctors surveyed and of experts will thus be developed, and the draft chart will be distributed to oriental medical institutions with the developed medical forms and electronic medical chart.

We have examined the phase of Bian Zheng(辨證) by individual characteristics, who underwent the Oriental Medical Physical Examination, based on the Bian Zheng questionnaire of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. Since the correlations in all Bian Zhengs showed meaningful results at 0.01(p-value<0.05) in terms of level of significance and all coefficients are in positive value, the correlation in these Bian Zhengs could be said to exhibit the change toward the same direction with close correlation rather than contradictory change. The mean Bian Zheng score of women was generally higher than that of men, particularly in Blood-Deficiency, Qi-Stasis, Qi-Deficiency. But there is no difference of the mean Bian Zheng score in Sasang Constitution. We performed the Linear regression analysis to see the change of Bian Zheng score by age and could presume that the older they are, the higher Bian Zheng score, but statically the result is not meaningful. By the above result, we could come to the conclusion that the Bian Zhen questionnaire is more useful to the patient than the healthy people.
