  • First, generally the more business employ the financial and non financial outcome analysis for evaluation process, the higher the success rate of new product development becomes in the domestic restaurant market. Second, the study shows that the financial outcome tends to be considered more than non financial outcome on deciding success of the new product development. Third, it is indicated that although detailed plans have a large impact on the outcome of new product development, communication between departments within a company is not a considerably important factor for deciding success of the new product. Fourth, 'market environment' has significant influence on deciding adoption level of financial and non financial outcome analysis, organizational resources and culture.

There was significant positive correlation between organizational commitment and job satisfaction and also job satisfaction and nursing organizational characteristics. All factors of organizational characteristics and satisfaction in present working unit were major factors to influence organizational commitment and explained 43.8% in a significant level by multiple regression analysis. The major factor which affect job satisfaction were the factors of nursing organizational characteristic except 'interaction with team leader' and satisfaction in present working unit among general characteristics and these factors explained 58.8% of job satisfaction. Conclusion: In conclusion, the nursing organizational change was very effective to bring about desirable change in nursing organizational characteristics and also to improve job satisfaction and patient satisfaction. • Purpose - This study empirically validates the theoretical argument of the effect of authentic leadership on organizational citizenship behavior, and the mediating roles of followers' self-awareness and psychological ownership between authentic leadership and followers' organizational citizenship behavior. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 380 office workers in Korea were surveyed through on-line, and the result was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equational modeling. Results - The authentic leadership was shown to be related positively to followers' self-awareness and psychological ownership, both of which were associated positively with their organizational citizenship behavior. The complete mediating effects of followers' self-awareness and psychological ownership were verified between authentic leadership and follower's organizational citizenship behavior. Conclusions - While followers' self-awareness was rarely studied in the authentic leadership study to date, it was found to play a role in the authentic leadership process into organizational outcome. It is argued that the followers' self-awareness as a mediating role between authentic leadership and organizational outcome seems to be more appropriate than the leader' s identification of previous thesis in explaining the authentic leadership effect.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation model on nursing work outcomes based on Youssef and Luthans' positive psychological capital and integrated conceptual framework of work performance. Methods: This study used a structured questionnaire administered to 340 nurses. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results: Positive psychological capital showed indirect and direct effects on job satisfaction, retention intention, organizational citizenship behavior, and nursing performance. While, the nursing work environment had direct and indirect effects on job satisfaction and nursing performance, it only had indirect effects on intention to work and organizational citizenship behavior. Additionally, a mediating effect on retention intention and organizational citizenship behavior was found between job satisfaction and nursing performance variables. Conclusion: The nursing organization needs to build a supportive work environment and reinforce positive psychological capital to improve nursing performance. Additionally, it needs to actively manage the necessary parameters involved in the stages of job satisfaction, retention intention, nursing performance, and organizational citizenship behavior of nurses. The findings propose the continuous management of nursing personnel based on nurses' attitude outcome, behavioral intention, behavioral outcome, and stage of role performance.

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the causal model of nurses' organizational commitment. Based on literature review and Fishbein's behavioral intentions model ((Fishbein. 1967: Fishbein & Ajzen. 1975). the organizational commitment was conceptualized within a motivational framework that mediate between antecedents variables and outcome variables. Antecedent variables were pay, promotional chances. continuing education opportunity. rigidity of the administration. paticipative decision making, latitude, group support, role conflict, work load, need for achievement. experience and pride for professional nursing. Outcome variable was turnover intention. The subjects were 373 nurses who were working at 2 large general hospitals located in Seoul. It represents a response rate of 94%. Data for this study was collected from August 29 to September 22 in 1997 by Questionnaire. Path analysis with LISREL 7.16 prigram was used to test the fit of the proposed conceptual model to data and to examine the causal relationships among variables. The result showed that both the proposed model and the modified model fit the data excellently. It needs to be notified, however. that path analysis can not count measurment errors: measurement error can attenuate estimates of coefficient and explanatory power. Nontheless the model revealed considerable explanatory power for organizational commitment (58%), pride for professional nursing (50%) and turnover intention(40%). In predicting nurses' organizational commitment, the findings of this study clearly demonstrated 'the pride for professional nursing' might be the most important variables of all the antecedent variables. Group support, role conflict, need for achievement were also found to be important determinants for the organizational commitment and turnover intention, The result showed experience might be a predictor for 'pride for professional nursing' and 'turnover intention' but not 'organizational commitment', 'Rigidity of the administration' and latitude were also found to have important roles in predictingr the organizational commitment, while participative decision making might have an impact on turnover intention. On the other hand promotional chance had an influence on all the outcome variables, while pay only on turnover intention. In predicting turnover intention, the result clearly revealed 'the pride for professional nursing' and 'organizational commitment' might be the most powerful predictors among all the variables. Theses results were discussed, including directions for the future research and practical implications drawn from the research were suggested.
