Alfalfa 근류균접종제 생산 및 이용에 관한 연구 II. Alfalfa 근류균제의 제조방법 및 보관온도가 균밀도변화에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Production and Utilization of Rhizobium Inoculants for Alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.) II. Effects of preparation and preservation methods of carrier on the Rhizobium population of the carriers as Rhizobium inoculants)

  • 'Ihis experiment was carried out to select a carrier as rhizobium inoculant for alfalfa. The Rhizobium inoculants were produced in main materials(organic and inorganic materials) and submaterial(Ca$CO_3$, and sucrose), and than the changes of Rhizobium population of inoculants were scrutinized from directly after the production to 12 months at $4^{\circ}$C and $25^{\circ}$C. Directly after the production of inoculants, their Rhizobium numbers were 4-9 $\times$ $10^9$/ginoculant in organic materials and 1-8 $\times$ $10^8$/g inoculant in inorganic materials. When they were stored at $25^{\circ}$C, most of inoculants was being started in reduction of rhizobium numbers after 2 months and was reduced by tenfold of initial rhizobium number after 4-6 months, but inoculant of bentonite+ vermiculite+sucrose 1% was not reduced by tenfold after 12 months. When they were stored at $4^{\circ}$C, most of inoculants was being started in reduction of rhizobium numbers after 4 months but was not reduced by tenfold of initial rhizobium number after 12 months, and the effect of sucrose addition to bentonite+ vermiculik did nearly not appear. Preservation of Rhizobium inoculants was more effective at 4C than 25 C . 'Ihe Rhizobium inoalant produced in bentonite+vermiculite(l:3 w/w)+ sucrose 1% was not only high Rhizobium population(8.3 $\times$ $10^8$/g inoculant) but also survival effect of rhizobium in being stored at $25^{\circ}$C.

Manure Based Duckweed Production in Shallow Sink : Effect of Nutrient Loading Frequency on the Production Performance of Lemna purpusilla

  • Effect on the bio-mass and nutrient yield of Lemna perpusilla Torry was studied at two nutrient loading frequencies. Six polythene sinks ($6{\times}2{\times}0.5m^{3}$ area) randomly allocated to two treatments having three sinks in each treatment. Each sink containing $6{\times}2{\times}0.35m^{3}$ water body, was changed either daily with 12.6 kg anaerobically fermented cattle manure (effluent) or with 76 kg efluent at six-day interval. Media Kjeldhal-N (40 vs. 36 mg/L; p>0.05) and $NH_3$-N (9 vs 7 mg/L; p<0.05) concentration were higher in daily charged sinks than those charged at six-day interval. However, temperature ($28.48{^{\circ}C}\;vs.\;28.60{^{\circ}C}$) and pH (6.82 vs. 6.84) were sinilar in both groups of sinks. Biomass (93 vs. $80g/m^{2}/d$) and crude protein (1.24 vs. $1.11g/m^{2}/d$) yield were non-significantly (p>0.05) higher in the daily charged than 6-d interval charged ponds. However, dry matter (4.52 vs. 4.15%), organic matter (83 vs. 84%), crude protein (31.4 va. 29.6%) and organic carbon (47 vs. 47%) content were similar in both daily and 6-d interval charged ponds. There were no apparent relationships between the crude protein content of Lemna and the media Kjeldhal-N or $NH_3$-N concentration apparently due to saturated level of nutrient (N in particular). It was concluded that with the level of effluent used for two treatments, nutrient-loading frequency had no significant effect on the biomass and protein yield of Lemna. Technique described here can be used for year-round duckweed production from fermented cattle manure for feeding poultry/fish in smallholder production system.

축산폐수 전처리를 위한 펜톤산화 적정조건에 관한 연구 (A Study on Proper Fenton Oxidation Conditions for Pretreatment of Livestock Wastewater)

  • 본 연구에서는 펜톤산화 공정을 축산폐수의 전처리 시스템으로 활용하고자 초기 pH, $H_2O_2/Fe^{2+}$ 비율, $H_2O_2/Fe^{2+}$ 약품주입량, 응집 및 침전을 위한 중화제 등과 같은 펜톤산화의 적정 운영조건을 도출하는 실험적 연구를 실시하였다. 적정 조건을 도출하기 위해 교반시험기를 이용하여 120 rpm에서 2시간 동안 각 조건을 변화시키면서 펜톤산화 반응을 진행한 후 2시간 동안 침전시켜 그 상등액의 잔류 과산화수소, $COD_{Cr}$, SS 등을 분석하였다. 실험결과 도출된 최적조건은 초기 pH는 4, $H_2O_2/Fe^{2+}$비율은 10:1, $H_2O_2/Fe^{2+}$ 약품주입량은 5,000/500mg/L 그리고 중화제로는 $Ca(OH)_2$가 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 최적 조건에서 펜톤산화에 의해 축산폐수의 $COD_{Cr}$ 제거율은 43% 그리고 SS는 84%의 제거율을 나타내었다.

  • Organic dust generated inside livestock facilities includes toxic organic matters such as bacteria and endotoxin. Dust can cause respiratory disease for worker and livestock, and consequently, degradation of welfare and productivity. Influence of dust on livestock workers has been studied since the 1970s. However, exposure limit for cattle farmer has not been established, unlike exposure limit for pig and poultry farmer. Furthermore, study on air quality inside livestock facility, especially inside dairy farm has been rarely conducted in Korea. In this study, dust concentration of TSP, PM10, inhalable and respirable dust has been monitored in the commercial dairy house according to location and working activities. Bedding material inside the stall was one of the major sources of dust. The amount of dust was related to water content level of the bedding material. Dust concentration was relatively high in leeward location, and the highest concentration was measured during TMR mixing process. The maximum value of inhalable dust concentration was 29.1 times higher than the reference value as fine particles drop to the TMR mixer. Dust generated by TMR mixing was presumed to decrease by adjusting moisture and drop height of feed.

Temporal and spatial variability in the nutritive value of pasture vegetation and supplement feedstuffs for domestic ruminants in Western Kenya

  • Objective: The study aimed at quantifying seasonal and spatial variations in availability and nutritive value of herbaceous vegetation on native pastures and supplement feedstuffs for domestic ruminants in Western Kenya. Methods: Samples of herbaceous pasture vegetation (n = 75) and local supplement feedstuffs (n = 46) for cattle, sheep, and goats were collected in 20 villages of three geographic zones (Highlands, Mid-slopes, Lowlands) in Lower Nyando, Western Kenya, over four seasons of one year. Concentrations of dry matter (DM), crude ash (CA), ether extract (EE), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), gross energy (GE), and minerals were determined. Apparent total tract organic matter digestibility (dOM) was estimated from in vitro gas production and proximate nutrient concentrations or chemical composition alone using published prediction equations. Results: Nutrient, energy, and mineral concentrations were 52 to 168 g CA, 367 to 741 g NDF, 32 to 140 g CP, 6 to 45 g EE, 14.5 to 18.8 MJ GE, 7.0 to 54.2 g potassium, 0.01 to 0.47 g sodium, 136 to 1825 mg iron, and 0.07 to 0.52 mg selenium/kg DM. The dOM was 416 to 650 g/kg organic matter but differed depending on the estimation method. Nutritive value of pasture herbage was superior to most supplement feedstuffs, but its value strongly declined in the driest season. Biomass yields and concentrations of CP and potassium in pasture herbage were highest in the Highlands amongst the three zones. Conclusion: Availability and nutritive value of pasture herbage and supplement feedstuffs greatly vary between seasons and geographical zones, suggesting need for season- and region-specific feeding strategies. Local supplement feedstuffs partly compensate for nutritional deficiencies. However, equations to accurately predict dOM and improved knowledge on nutritional characteristics of tropical ruminant feedstuffs are needed to enhance livestock production in this and similar environments.

유기농업의 경제적 배경과 경영방식에 관한 고찰 (A study on the economic background and management method in organic farming)

  • Presently the concept of organic farming has not simply technical categories such as no agricul-tural chemicals and no chemical fertilizer but can be also extended to the categories of economics, food nutrition, environmental and philosophical aspects. Accordingly, in order to understand cor-rectly organic farming, it is necessary to look into the concept including these extended aspects. So the production and consumption activities of organic farming products are largely based on the fundamental philosophy of organic farming. That is, all the life that is included in an ecosystem has to live in symbiosis, which is based on life circulation principle. And if this circultaion system is destroyed, human life may be threatended. Farmers who produce organic farming prducts(organic farmer) receive price higher than general farmers. This study shows the gap of 46.9% in two products. Also, since the price of organic farming products is fluctuated less relatively, Organic farming pruducts can be competed against imported agricultural products in terms of food safety. And organic farming should be managed by crop rotation and composite farm management upon which the principle of material circulation is worked. This composite management is devided into 2 classes, which are individually livestock-have-composite management and regional composite management. These management method means that organic materials are crucial to maintain the structure and fertility and these organic materials are easily obtained from animal as by-products.

혐기 소화 상징액과 가축 분뇨를 대상으로 한 아질산화 반응조 내 foaming 특성 (characteristic of foaming in nitritation reactor using anaerobic digester supernatant and livestock wastewater)

  • 고농도 질소를 함유하고 있는 하수는 하수처리장 처리 효율에 악영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 고농도 질소를 함유한 하수를 처리하기 위한 다양한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 고농도 질소를 함유한 하수인 혐기 소화 상징액과 가축분뇨를 대상으로 유기물 분석, foaming 실험 및 실험실 규모 아질산화 반응조 운전을 실시하였다. 유기물 분석 결과 혐기 소화 상징액은 용존성 불활성한 성분, 가축분뇨는 입자성 생물학적 분해가능한 성분이 가장 큰 부분을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 아질산화 반응에 적합한 체류시간은 혐기소화 상징액 2일과 가축분뇨 6일이였으며, 이와 같은 적정 체류시간에 차이는 암모니아성 질소 농도 및 유기물 성상차이에 의한 것으로 보인다. 또한 가축 분뇨 반응조 foam은 혐기 소화 상징액 반응조 foam과 비교하여 발생량은 많지만 빠르게 제거되는 특성을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 아질산화 반응의 하수처리장 적용 시 기초 자료로 이용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

부식산분말 처리에 따른 가축분의 퇴비화 특성 및 시비효과 (Composting of Livestock Manure Blending Humic Acid Powder and Influences on Growth of Lettuce by Its Application)

  • 농업에서 부식산은 양이온치환능력이 높아 토양의 완충능력이나 보비력을 개선하는 토양개량제나 기능성비료로 이용되어 왔다. 본 연구는 퇴비화에서 부식산의 이용가능성을 평가하기 위하여, 가축분퇴비 원료에 부식산분말을 처리 후 퇴비화 특성변화와 퇴비의 시비에 따른 상추의 생육효과를 조사하였다. 처리구는 대조구, 부식산분말 0.1% 처리구(0.1% HA), 부식산분말 0.5% 처리구(0.5% HA), 부식산분말 1.0% 처리구(1.0% HA), 부식산분말 3.0% 처리구(3.0% HA),부식산분말 5.0% 처리구(5.0% HA)로 설정하였다. 부식산분말 처리 후 온도, 수분 함량, 유기물 함량, 질소 함량 및 유기물대 질소비는 처리구별 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 퇴비원료 배합 후 3% HA 처리구와 5.0% HA 처리구의 pH는 다른 처리구보다 낮았으나 퇴비화동안에는 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 부식산분말 처리 퇴비의 부식산 함량은 대조구보다 1.7~4.4배 더 높았고, 악취지수는 3.0% HA 처리구와 5.0% HA 처리구에서 감소하였다. 부식산분말 처리 퇴비 처리구 중 3.0% HA 처리구에서 상추의 건물중은 대조구보다 약 7% 증가하였다.

유기작물재배의 이론 및 핵심기술 -독일을 중심으로- (Principles and Skills of Organic Crop Production with special regards to Germany)

  • Within the paper, an overview of organic farming in Europe countries is given and the Principle and skills of organic agriculture is shortly reported with special regard to Germany. The overview information on European organic forming is covered such as \circled1 development of organic farming, \circled2organic farming organizations, \circled3standards and certification, \circled4implementation of EU council regulation, \circled5state support, \circled6implementation of Agenda 2000, \circled7training and education, \circled8advisory service and research situation. In the paper the principle and skills for organic farming which are practiced actually in the German organic farms is also reported. How to maintain and increase the fertility and microbiological activity of the soil by \circled1cultivation of legumes, green manures or deep-rooting crops in multi-annual rotation system, \circled2incorporation in the soil organic material, by-products from livestock farming is one of the major principle to organic crop production. Pest and diseases and weeds are controlled by any one, or a combination of the following measure ; \circled1choice of appropriate species and varieties, \circled2appropriate rotation programs, \circled3mechanical cultivation, \circled4protection of natural enemies of pests through provision of favourable habitat and ecological buffer zone, \circled5diversified ecosystems, \circled6flame weeding, \circled7natural enemies, \circled8bio-dynamic preparations, \circled9mulching and mowing, \circled10grazing of animals, ⑪mechanical controls, ⑫steam sterilization.

예건기간이 라운드베일 목초 사일리지의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Wilting Days on the Quality of Round Baled Grass Silage)

  • 본 시험은 예건기간이 목초 라운드베일 사일리지의 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 축산연구소에서 2년간 수행되었다. 사일리지 조제전 목초를 수확하여 비예건, 반나절 예건 및 1일 예건 등 3처리를 두고 각각 3롤의 라운드베일 사일리지를 조제하였다. 일반성분중 조섬유 함량은 예건으로 증가되었으나 나머지 성분은 일정한 경향을 보이지 않았다. 섬유소 함량에 있어서도 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 건물 소화율에 있어서는 1일 예건구가 비예건구에 비해 유의적으로 낮았다. 건물함량은 예건기간이 길어짐에 따라 23.7%에서 40.0%로 높아졌으며 pH도 증가되었다. 사일리지의 유기산 함량은 예건기간이 길어질수록 감소되는 경향을 보여주었으며 사일리지의 품질 점수 및 등급이 약간 개선되었다. 건물 손실에 있어서는 예건으로 약 $4{\sim}10%$ 줄일 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 고품질의 목초 라운드베일 사일리지 조제를 위해서는 1일정도 예건하는 것이 권장되었다.
