Ordered mesoporous materials with a hydrothermally-stable, protozeolitic framework were prepared by exploring the direct conversion of inorganic species based on co-surfactant templating systems. To confer hydrothermal stability on the mesoporous aterials, the organic-inorganic hybrids were heat-treated in strongly basic media. Co-surfactant templating systems of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide [$C_{16}H_{13}(CH_{3})_{3}$NBr, CTAB] with 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (TMB) or a nonionic block copolymer of poly(ethylene oxide )-b-poly(propylene oxide )-b-poly(ethylene oxide) ($EO_{20}PO_{70}EO_{20}$) were employed to improve the hydrothermal stability of the organic-inorganic self-assembly during the solid rearrangement process of the inorganic species. The mesoscopic ordering of the pore structure and geometry was identified by X-ray diffraction, small angle neutron scattering and electron microscopy.
Recently, the control of pore-characteristics of nano-porous materials has been studied extensively because of their unique applications, which includes size-selective separation, gas adsorption/storage, heterogeneous catalysis, etc. The most widely adopted techniques for controlling pore characteristics include the utilization of pillar effect by metal oxide and of templates such as zeolites. More recently, coordination polymers constructed by transition metal ions and bridging organic ligands have afforded new types of nano-porous materials, porous metal-organic framework(porous MOF), with high degree and uniformity of porosity. The pore characteristics of these porous MOFs can be designed by controlling the coordination number and geometry of selected metal, e.g transition metal and rare-earth metal, and the size, rigidity, and coordination site of ligand. The synthesis of porous MOF by the assembly of metal ions with di-, tri-, and poly-topic N-bound organic linkers such as 4,4'-bipyridine(BPY) or multidentate linkers such as carboxylates, which allow for the formation of more rigid frameworks due to their ability to aggregate metal ions into M-O-C cluster, have been reported. Other porous MOF from co-ligand system or the ligand with both C-O and C-N type linkage can afford to control the shape and size of pores. Furthermore, for the rigidity and thermal stability of porous MOF, ring-type ligand such as porphyrin derivatives and ligands with ability of secondary bonding such as hydrogen and ionic bonding have been studied.

The structures, energetics and transfer integrals of the acene tetramers up to pentacene are investigated with the ab initio molecular orbital method at the level of second-order Møller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2). Calculated geometries for the herringbone-style structures found in the crystal structure were characterized as local minima, however the geometrical discrepancy between crystal and MP2 theoretical structure is reasonably small. The binding energy of pentacene tetramer was calculated up to 40 kcal/mol (MP2/6-31G(d)) and about 90 kcal/mol (MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ), and the latter seems to be too much overestimated. The tendency of the hole transfer integrals computed with ab initio MP2/3-21G(d) geometry is well agreement with those estimated with crystal structure with some discrepancy, and the gradual increment of the transfer integrals at the crystal geometry is attributed to mainly packing structure rather than the intrinsic property of acene such as a size of acene.
Recently, we have many problems on the process of the sludge. In past, the sewage sludge was treated by reclaimed land or thrown away in the sea. But these methods caused environmental pollution. Today, many researchers are studying various methods for reducing its volume. One of these method, this study is to reduce the moisture of sewage sludge and to solidify it using a dryer and curing equipment. In this research, we investigated about design parameter and operation condition of the equipment. The curing equipment reduces the percentage of water content from 30% of dryer to 10%. So, we have to study the curing characteristics and performance of curing equipment. For example, there are internal flow characteristics and change of the percentage of water content. And we investigated the change of data at outlet along the initial condition, temperature, humidity and air flow. Using this data, we achieve the experimental results of curing efficiency by each geometry and operating condition. And we also investigated numerical analysis of internal flow using CFD code. This research is basic study for optimal design of the curing equipment.
We have prepared and investigated the properties of photoinitiator-free photosensitive polyimide gate insulatos for organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). The precursor was prepared from a dianhydride, 3,3',4,4'-Benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA) and novel aromatic diamine, 7-(3,5-diaminobenzoyloxy) coumarine (DA-CM). Photo-patternability of the polyimide precursor film and surface morphology of the films before and after photo-patterning process were investigated and negative pattern with a resolution of 50 ${\mu}m$ was obtained nicely. In addition, we have fabricated OTFTs with pentacene and photosensitive polyimide as a semiconductor and a gate insulator; respectively. According to the device geometry, the ${\mu}$, current modulation ratio and subthreshold swing of the devices were around 0.2${\sim}$0.4 $cm^2$/Vs, more than $10^5$ and around 3${\sim}$5 V/dec, respectively.
The reactions of [Ni(L)(H₂O)₂]Cl₂ (L = 2,5,9,12-tetramethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) with terephtalate (tp) and 2,5-pyridinedicarboxylate (pdc) generate one-dimensional nickel(II) complexes, [Ni(L)(H₂O)₂](tp) · ₄H₂O (1) and [Ni(L)(H₂O)₂](pdc)·₄H₂O (2). The structures have been characterized by X-ray crystallography, magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopy. The crystal structures of 1 and 2 show a distorted octahedral coordination geometry around the Ni(II) ion, with secondary amines of the macrocycle and two water molecules at the trans position. Complexes 1 and 2 display the one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded infinite chains. The magnetic behavior of all compounds exhibits weak interchain antiferromagnetic interactions with J values of -1.09(3) for 1 and -1.14(2) cm-1 for 2.

The donor-${\pi}$-acceptor (D-${\pi}$-A) chromophoric dye system has received great attention in variety fields such as electroluminescent materials, sensors and optoelectronic devices. There are many research activities focused on the development for abovementioned application materials with the high-performance properties. In the previous work, we are reported that novel D-${\pi}$-A dye, 2-[4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)benzylidene]-2,3-dihydroinden-1-one, is successfully attained and exhibited a positive fluorescence solvatochromism. In this work, the molecular structure and packing geometry of 2-[4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)benzylidene]-2,3-dihydroinden-1-one was discussed by their conformational structure. Their single yellow prism crystal having approximate dimensions of $0.30{\times}0.10{\times}0.10$ mm was carried out with a Rigaku RAXIS RAPID imaging plate area detector with graphite monochromated $CuK_{\alpha}$ radiation. Their crystal structure were solved by using the CrystalStructure crystallographic software package.
Effective use of available energy sources is of general concern along with the issues of global warming and unstable oil price. As one of the effort to recover waste heat from industrial facilities effectively, researchers have interest in a technology called organic Rankine cycle(ORC), in which the working fluid is some organic liquid instead of water. Known to have poor efficiency already, this old technology is considered to give an innovative solution to utilizing low grade energy sources, by improving the efficiency. Nano fluidics, coatings and the use of additives are the examples of these efforts. In the present study, we present simulated performance of a horizontal tube type condenser geometry. N-hexanr and isopentane are compared to water vapor case under 1 atm and the inet cooling water temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. EES(Engineering Equations Solver) is used for the present work.

Organic thin film transistors with a pentacene active layer and various polymer gate insulators were fabricated and their performances were investigated. Characteristics of pentacene thin film transistors on different polymer substrates were investigated using an atomic force microscope (AFM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD). The pentacene thin films were deposited by thermal evaporation on the gate insulators of various polymers. Hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS), polyvinyl acetate (PVA) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) were fabricated as the gate insulator where a pentacene layer was deposited at 40, 55, 70, 85, 100 oC. Pentacene thin films on PMMA showed the largest grain size and least trap concentration. In addition, pentacene TFTs of top-contact geometry are compared with PMMA and $SiO_2$ as gate insulators, respectively. We also fabricated pentacene TFT with Poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-Polysturene Sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) electrode by inkjet printing method. The physical and electrical characteristics of each gate insulator were tested and analyzed by AFM and I-V measurement. It was found that the performance of TFT was mainly determined by morphology of pentacene rather than the physical or chemical structure of the polymer gate insulator
The aim of this study is to understand the original methods of architectural composition in F. L. Wright's works, For this purpose, the principal thoughts based on his organic architecture was examined over all others, and the results of this study are as follows. 1. F. L. Wright knew Taoist Philosophy, especially Lao-tzu's thought about space based on traditional oriental arts included traditional japanese arts by his superior intuition. this is similar to Froebel Thought in the principal theory, that is, his own unique field of abstract architectural education with three-dimensional geometry learned through Froebel Gifts. 2. Space is reality ; such Lao-tzu's thought, reversed the sense of values, influenced F. L. Wright's way to accomplish his own continuous space. that is to say, he attempted taking precedence of spatial organization by the unit of three-dimensional module made the substance, Froebel Blocks (3, 4, 5, 6 Gifts) into non-substance, and trying to do the methods of continuous liberal composition in architecture. which is his original accomplishment, namely his mentioned 'democratic' because of judging the space and the mold of architecture as individualities. 3. F. L. Wright treated the space as a positive entity, so that he created his own architecture organically combined with spaces and forms. : This was the result that he comprehended both formative, physical worth in West and spatial, non-physical worth in East as equivalence. It is understood that F. L. Wright's works combined with East and West are the significance of his architecture and the progress of true internationalities and modernization in modern architecture. 4. From the analyses of his works, we knew the fact that F. L. Wright's architecture, especially in the spatial organization were performed by the reasonable methods with geometric system of Froebel Gifts. In the observation of our fundamental way of thinking on his architecture, this study shows the necessity to let us get out of preconceptions and conclusions that the organic architecture is mysterious and difficult, but to systematize and put his organic methods to practical use.
