In our previous reports [1-3], electron transport for the switching and memory devices using alkyl thiol-tethered Ru-terpyridine complex compounds with metal-insulator-metal crossbar structure has been presented. On the other hand, among organic memory devices, a memory based on the OFET is attractive because of its nondestructive readout and single transistor applications. Several attempts at nonvolatile organic memories involve electrets, which are chargeable dielectrics. However, these devices still do not sufficiently satisfy the criteria demanded in order to compete with other types of memory devices, and the electrets are generally limited to polymer materials. Until now, there is no report on nonvolatile organic electrets using nano-interfaced organic monomer layer as a dielectric material even though the use of organic monomer materials become important for the development of molecularly interfaced memory and logic elements. Furthermore, to increase a retention time for the nonvolatile organic memory device as well as to understand an intrinsic memory property, a molecular design of the organic materials is also getting important issue. In this presentation, we report on the OFET memory device built on a silicon wafer and based on films of pentacene and a SiO2 gate insulator that are separated by organic molecules which act as a gate dielectric. We proposed push-pull organic molecules (PPOM) containing triarylamine asan electron donating group (EDG), thiophene as a spacer, and malononitrile as an electron withdrawing group (EWG). The PPOM were designed to control charge transport by differences of the dihedral angles induced by a steric hindrance effect of side chainswithin the molecules. Therefore, we expect that these PPOM with potential energy barrier can save the charges which are transported to the nano-interface between the semiconductor and organic molecules used as the dielectrics. Finally, we also expect that the charges can be contributed to the memory capacity of the memory OFET device.[4]
Sintering and dielectric characteristics of substrates were estimated by mixing rate of alumina and potashborosilicate glass(PBSG) powders. PBSG powders were used 7761(corning code)and alumina powders were used in extra pure rate(99.9%) and had 0.1 ${\mu}$m mean size. After ball milling with organic additives green sheets which were casted by doctor blade machine were sintered at 800$^{\circ}C$ for 1∼3hrs. Microstructure, linear shrinkage and dielectric constant of substrates were surveyed in order to fabricate low-dielectric and low tem-perature sintering substrate.

With injection-type source delivery system of atomic layer deposition (ALD), bottom-contact and bottom-gate thin-film transistors (TFTs) were fabricated with a poly-4-vinyphenol polymeric dielectric for the first time. The properties of the ZnO TFT were greatly influenced by the device structure and the process conditions. The zinc oxide TFTs exhibited a channel mobility of 0.43 $cm^2$/Vs, a threshold voltage of 0.85 V, a subthreshold slope of 3.30 V/dec, and an on-to-off current ratio of above $10^6$ with solid saturation.

To fabricate mono layer green sheet (MLGS) of transparent dielectric for PDP front panel, dispersion of transparent dielectric slurry and various properties of green sheets were examined as a function of amount and kinds of organic additives. Sedimentation height and viscosity of slurry were measured to determine proper types and amount of dispersant in non-aqueous system transparent dielectric slurry. Many MLGS having various ratios of the transparent dielectric glass frit, binder and plasticizer were fabricated. Finally we got the transparent dielectric layer of high transparency and free from residual pore might be remained in the gap between the electrodes.
[ $(Ba,Sr,Ca)TiO_3$ ] powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with organic vehicle and the BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen printing techniques on alumina substrates. The dielectric properties were investigated for various composition ratio and $Nb_2O_5$ doping contents. All the BSCT thick films, sintered at $1420^{\circ}C$, showed the typical XRD patterns of a perovskite polycrystalline structure. The Curie temperature and the relative dielectric constant decreased with increasing Ca content and $Nb_2O_5$ doping amount. The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(50/40/10) thick films doped with 1.0wt% $Nb_2O_5$ were 1410, 0.65% and 17.29% respectively.
[ $Epoxy/BaTiO_3$ ] composite embedded capacitor films (ECFs) were newly designed fur high dielectric constant and low tolerance (less than ${\pm}15\%$) embedded capacitor fabrication for organic substrates. In terms of material formulation, ECFs are composed of specially formulated epoxy resin and latent curing agent, and in terms of coating process, a comma roll coating method is used for uniform film thickness in large area. Dielectric constant of $BaTiO_3\;&\;SrTiO_3$ composite ECF is measured with MIM capacitor at 100 kHz using LCR meter. Dielectric constant of $BaTiO_3$ ECF is bigger than that of $SrTiO_3$ ECF, and it is due to difference of permittivity of $BaTiO_3\;and\;SrTiO_3$ particles. Dielectric constant of $BaTiO_3\;&\;SrTiO_3$ ECF in high frequency range $(0.5\~10GHz)$ is measured using cavity resonance method. In order to estimate dielectric constant, the reflection coefficient is measured with a network analyzer. Dielectric constant is calculated by observing the frequencies of the resonant cavity modes. About both powders, calculated dielectric constants in this frequency range are about 3/4 of the dielectric constants at 1 MHz. This difference is due to the decrease of the dielectric constant of epoxy matrix. For $BaTiO_3$ ECF, there is the dielectric relaxation at $5\~9GHz$. It is due to changing of polarization mode of $BaTiO_3$ powder. In the case of $SrTiO_3$ ECF, there is no relaxation up to 10GHz. Alternative material for embedded capacitor fabrication is $epoxy/BaTiO_3$ composite embedded capacitor paste (ECP). It uses similar materials formulation like ECF and a screen printing method for film coating. The screen printing method has the advantage of forming capacitor partially in desired part. But the screen printing makes surface irregularity during mask peel-off, Surface flatness is significantly improved by adding some additives and by applying pressure during curing. As a result, dielectric layer with improved thickness uniformity is successfully demonstrated. Using $epoxy/BaTiO_3$ composite ECP, dielectric constant of 63 and specific capacitance of 5.1nF/cm2 were achieved.

We have applied self-assembled monolayer to make high performance and stable OTFT on the organic gate dielectric. The ${\beta}$-phenethyltrichlorosilane (SAM) was coated on the organic gate dielectric and then active layer was printed. Significant improvements in on-currents and threshold voltage shift were achieved for the SAM treated devices compared to device without SAM.
Organic semiconductors based on fused-ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon have great potential to be utilized as an active layer for electronic and optoelectronic devices. In this study, pentacene thin films and electrode materials were deposited by Organic Molecular Beam Deposition(OMBD) and vacuum evaporation respectively. For the gate dielectric, polyamic acid was spin-coated and cured into polyimide at 350$^{\circ}C$. Electrical characteristics of the devices were investigated, where the channel length and width was 50${\mu}m$ and 5mm. It was found that field effect mobility was 0.012$cm^{2}/Vs$, and on/off current ratio was $10^5$.
We have proposed an optical thin film and micro lens to improve the luminance of organic light emitting device. The first method, optical thin film was calculated refractive index of dielectric layer material that was modulated refractive index of organic material, ITO (indium tin oxide)and glass. The second method, microlens was applied with lenses on the organic device. Optical thin films were designed with Macleod Simulator and Micro Lenses were calculated by FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) solution. The structure of thin film was designed in organic material/ITO/dielectric layer/glass. The lenses size, height and distance were 5 ${\mu}m$, 1 ${\mu}m$, 1 ${\mu}m$, respectively. The material of micro lenses used silicon dioxide. Result, The highest luminance of OLED which applied with microlens was 11,185 $cd/m^2$, when approval voltage was 14.5 V, applied thin film was 5,857 $cd/m^2$. The device efficiency applying microlens increased 3 times than the device which does not apply microlens.
