  • With the advance of information communication technology, specifically the Internet technology, most schools have developed their own Web sites for the communication of diverse parties such as students, their parents, teachers, and others. In spite of the wide spread of school Web sites, their bulletin board systems are usually developed under the Web-boards for developing ordinary sites without reflecting educational environments. The purpose of this research is to develop the Web-board system for schools, which can be applied to construct adaptive school Web sites. This Web-board system is designed to reflect the educational environments as well as the user characteristics under the idea of customization and optimization. The main advantage of this Web-board system is that it can allow easy access to the system through user-friendly interface, and also promote interactions among users through their personalized Web pages.

  • The concept of the center of gravity is presently being introduced in elementary school curriculums and is broadly applied to Mathematics, Physics, and the Engineering field in University education which are mostly theoretical classes much separated from actual life in the practical educational field. In 2013, ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ University of Science and Gifted Education, had developed the multidisciplinary approach program of verifying the center of gravity for gifted students, but this program was reconstructed and applied to ordinary students and the effectiveness was analyzed to lay the foundation and generalize this convergence education. Including experiments for verifying the center of gravity in an object with a hollow interior and the existence of a center of gravity outside an object, I proposed realizing the calculations by considering the weight of the lever, the Principle of the lever being a core factor when finding the center of gravity. We altered the existing 8 step program to a 4 step program for the told 65 students from elementary, Junior and High School students, letting them freely select the class lecture by themselves. The analysis attained from surveys, debates and interviews showed that by precise error analysis, students achieved a higher success experience, showing us the importance of the development of a new convergence program.

  • In order to determine the effect of Korean traditional play on young children's social competence and resilience, 44 children were used in a study in the Korean traditional play program. The program was held 2 times per week for 7 weeks and was divided into control group and experimental group. The study found that there was a significant difference in children's social competence between the experimental group that executed Korean traditional play in comparison to the ordinary outside play group. There was a significant difference statistically in the sub-factors of social abilities of scrupulosity, cooperation and sociability; it found that Korean traditional play had a greater positive influence on children's social skills in contrast to ordinary outside play. Also results showed that there was a significant difference in resilience between the experimental group that executed Korean traditional play and the experimental group that executed ordinary outside play. This shows there is a positive effect in the increase in resilience from Korean traditional play on young children. However this study found that there was a significant difference in only resilience sub-factors of the ability to control emotions and there was no significant difference in the ability to control impulse, optimism, and problem solving ability, empathy skill, efficacy and active participation to challenges. In other words, Korean traditional plays had a positive effect on a sub-factor of young children's social competence and resilience, emotional control.

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of problem solving group counseling on the index of obesity and health habits for obese children. Method: Forty seven obese children participated in the study(Exp.=22, Cont.=25). Children were recruited from the forth and fifth grade with higher than $20\%$ of the obesity degree. The problem solving counseling lasted for 10 weeks. In order to evaluate the effects of counseling, physical characteristics and health habits were measured three times; pretest, posttest, and at 10 weeks follow-up. The obtained data was analyzed by $x^2-test$, t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA, using the SPSS WIN 10.0program. Result: Problem solving group counseling was effective on the physical characteristics(BMI, obesity degree, body fat ratio, waist measurement) and health habits over time. Children in the experimental group controlled their body weight better and reported lower scores in the index of obesity than children in the control group at 10 weeks follow-up. Conclusion: This counseling program helped obese children modify their health habits so that they could decrease their scores in the obesity index. It can be concluded that problem-solving counseling enhanced problem-solving abilities of obese children, which could help modify their ordinary health habits.

  • This study has been made to research on the brain wave characteristics of baduk expert by BCI(Brain Computer Interface). The test was based on the researches from 1th September, 2005 to 30th December, 2005, compared with the ones of the standardized general public. The number of the general public are 695 (elementary school students 423, middle and high school students 161, adults 111) and the number of the baduk players are 57 (researchstudents 15, Korean baduk club students 16, professional baduk players 26). The research data show that the baduk players have the higher indexes than the general public in Self Regulation quotient p=.002, Attention Quotient(left) p=.002, Emotion Quotient p=.027, Stress Quotient(left) p=.002 and Brain Quotient p=.006. There are some differences in brain functions between baduk players and the ordinary people. Difference in functions of the brain among baduk experts is also analyzed. That result shows that there is no different brain function between professional baduk player.

Second, the science gifted children have much more sociality than the global science talented in the sense of social characteristics. The global science talented showed lack of interpersonal relationship & confidence for human relationship. Third, both parties were positive in terms of attitude which participating science camp. It was proved that science camp made a positive affect on both groups in several senses such as improving awareness & attitude of science activity and enhancing sociality. As a result, unlike ordinary program for the science gifted children, one for the global science talented in global bridge project is highly demanded that it should be considered the characteristics of the multi-cultural students. Moreover, it might be considered that educational circumstance would be needed, under which it is able to stimulates students' scientific curiosity throughout launching science hands-on program, such as systemized science camp etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine North Korean defector students' characteristics in science learning through their voice in an "Angbuilgu" program, one of the Korean traditional science knowledge (TSK). We compared them with two other groups of contrasting backgrounds. The Angbuilgu program contains meaningful questions of time, everyday-life knowledge, Korean TSK, and western modern science (WMS). The teaching strategy consists of interactions between teacher and students, and scientific experiments. We applied this program to three groups and analyzed: North Korean defector students, elementary science gifted students, high school students in an advanced class. The characteristics of their science learning show the following: First, their interpretation of time as nature itself in their everyday life. They have rich experience and are familiar with time in nature. Second, they prefer science with complementary, caring, and humanist perspectives, which is in contrast to other groups with preference to the updated and practical science. Third, they lack scientific concepts but possess an abundance of everyday-life knowledge. Their linguistic expressions are ordinary rather than scientific. Fourth, they are familiar with narrative thinking more than scientific thinking. The results show that the science program using Korean TSK can help them accept new scientific knowledge as well as cultural pride, which plays a role in reconfirming their identity as one ethnicity. We expect that the contents of Korean TSK can be an intercultural field between North Korean defector students and our science curriculum.
