For an aspect ratio (transport length-to-width) of 5, Pr=1.13, Le=1.91, Pe=4.3, Cv=1.01, $P_B=20\;Torr$, the effects of addition of inert gas Ne on thermally buoyancy-driven convection ($Gr=2.44{\times}10^3$) are numerically investigated for further understanding and insight into essence of transport phenomena in two dimensional horizontal enclosures. For $10K{\leq}{\Delta}T{\leq}50\;K$, the crystal growth rate increases from 10 K up to 20 K, and then is slowly decreased until ${\Delat}T=50\;K$, which is likely to be due to the effects of thermo-physical properties stronger than the temperature gradient corresponding to driving force for thermal convection. The dimensional maximum velocity gratitude reflecting the intensity of thermal convection is directly and linearly proportional to the temperature difference between the source and crystal regions. The rate is first order-exponentially decreased for $2{\leq}Ar{\leq}5$. This is related to the finding that the effects of side walls tend to stabilize convection in the growth reactor. In addition, the rate is first order exponentially decayed for $10{\leq}P_B{\leq}200\;Torr$.

According to the development of the aircraft industry, the fatigue strength of Aluminum Alloy becomes a great important material, but it seems that we don't understand an effect on the crack growth behaviour very well. This thesis is not only studied about the five kinds of 2017-T3, 2023-T3, 5083-0, 7075-T6, 7N01-T6 among the Aluminum Alloy which are the main materials of the aircraft, but also small or large relations against the fatigue strength of them. The consequence of the research was being progressed the accordance with the order. That is, The order is 2024-T3> 2017-T3> 7N01-T6> 7075-T6> 5083-0. These inclusion came out the acceleration phenomena in the crack growth behaviour among the high ${\Delta}K$ section Nevertheless I figured out their effects were being ignored at the 2b step.

The effects of substrate size on the growth of microphytobenthos Achnanthes sp., Amphora sp., Navicula sp. and Nitzschia sp. were examined using glass beads in order for phytoremediation in the benthic layer of coastal waters. The glass beads used in this study were 0.09~0.15 mm (G.B 1), 0.25~0.50 mm (G.B 2), 0.75~1.00 mm (G.B 3) and 1.25~1.65 mm (G.B 4). No addition of glass bead used as control. The specific growth rate and maximum cell density of four microphytobenthos species were increasing with decreasing size of glass beads. Moreover, the control experiment without added attachment substrates showed the lowest specific growth rate and maximum cell density. Therefore, the suitable attachment substrates for mass culture of microphytobenthos seems to be important in order for phytoremediation using microphytobenthos.

This study aims to investigate the interplay between education and local roads on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Philippines, using economic growth as an instrument. The study used the quantitative research design applying both descriptive and inferential statistics. A combination of Two Stage Least Square Regression Model and three approaches in Panel Regression Model such as Pooled Least Square, Fixed Effect Model, and Random Effect Model were utilized in order to study the effects of education and local roads on foreign direct investment of the Philippines. Based on Fixed Effect regression results, higher education graduates and local road investments, as conditioned by economic growth, were significant factors in order to increase the foreign direct investment in the Philippines. Accordingly, a unit increase in higher education graduates, as conditioned by economic growth, leads to 8.758 unit increases in the foreign direct investment. While, a unit increased in local road investments, as conditioned by economic growth, leads to a 0.002 decrease in foreign direct investment. The regression results of the study suggest that the Foreign Direct Investment in the regions such as CAR, I, II, IV-B, V, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, and ARMM are higher compared to Region IV-A.

In this paper, we investigate the growth and fixed points of meromorphic solutions of higher order linear differential equations with meromorphic coefficients and their derivatives. Because of the restriction of differential equations, we obtain that the properties of fixed points of meromorphic solutions of higher order linear differential equations with meromorphic coefficients and their derivatives are more interesting than that of general transcendental meromorphic functions. Our results extend the previous results due to M. Frei, M. Ozawa, G. Gundersen, and J. K. Langley and Z. Chen and K. Shon.

In this paper, a turbidostat model with ratio-dependent growth rate and impulsive state feedback control is considered. We obtain sufficient conditions of the globally asymptotically stable of the system without impulsive state feedback control. We also obtain that the system with impulsive state feedback control has periodic solution of order one. Sufficient conditions for existence and stability of periodic solution of order one are given. In some cases, it is possible that the system exists periodic solution of order two. Our results show that the control measure is effective and reliable.

In order to ensure the structural integrity of nuclear welded structures during design life, the fatigue life has to be evaluated by fatigue analysis procedures presented in technical codes such as ASME B&PV Code Section III. However, existing fatigue analysis procedures do not explicitly consider the presence of welded joints. A new fatigue analysis procedure based on a structural stress/fracture mechanics approach has been recently developed in order to reduce conservatism by erasing uncertainty in the analysis procedure. A recent review of fatigue crack growth data under various mean loading conditions using the structural stress/fracture mechanics approach, does not consider the mean loading effect, revealed some significant discrepancies in fatigue crack growth curves according to the mean loading conditions. In this paper, we propose the use of the stress intensity factor range ${\Delta}K$ characterized with loading ratio R effects in terms of the structural stress. We demonstrate the effectiveness in characterizing fatigue crack growth and S-N behavior using the well-known data. It was identified that the S-N data under high mean loading could be consolidated in a master S-N curve for welded joints.

The analysis of software reliability model provides the means to analysts, software engineers, and systems analysts and developers who want to predict, estimate, and measure failure rate of occurrences in software. In this paper, reliability growth model, in which the operating time between successive failure is a continuous random variable, is proposed. This model is based on order statistics of two parameters Burr type XII distribution. We propose the measure based on U-plot. Also the performance of the suggested model is tested on real data set.

Crystalline order and surface stability of 1,4,5,8,9,11-hexaazatriphenylene-hexanitrile (HATCN) thin films on organic surface were investigated using grazing incidence wide angle x-ray scattering and x-ray reflectivity measurements. In the initial growth regime (less than 20 nm), HATCN molecules were stacked to low crystalline order with substantial amorphous phase. Meanwhile, a thicker film with 50 nm thickness showed high crystalline order of hexagonal phase with three different orientational domains. The domain distribution was quantitatively obtained as a function of tilted angle. By an organic-inorganic interface formation of IZO/HATCN thin film from an indium zinc oxide (IZO) electrode deposition, the surface stability of HATCN film was investigated and the sharp interface was confirmed by the x-ray reflectivity measurement.

This research explores the question how interactions between customer and firm affect firm growth. To test suggested hypotheses, this study collects data on social commerce industry in Korea during the period from the beginning of social commerce industry in Korea, May 2010, to March 2012, and investigates the effect of social media on the growth of social commerce firms. We suggest two hypotheses in this study. First, as web traffic inflow through social media into a focal social commerce increases, the growth rate of the focal social commerce increases. Second, the more diverse social media channel through which web traffic inflows into a focal social commerce, the weaker the positive effect of web traffic inflow on the growth rate of the focal social commerce. Analysis of data shows that inflow through social media is positively related to the growth of social commerce. In addition, our analysis shows that inflow channel diversity weakens the positive relationship between web traffic inflow through social media and growth rate of social commerce firms. These results suggest that firms need to concentrate on few social media in order to attract customers. The study contributes to understanding how interaction between firms and customers influences the growth of the firm.
