사과 및 배 과수원의 토양 및 과실 중 잔류성유기염소계 농약류 잔류량 조사 (Investigation of Residual Organochlorine Pesticides in Apple and Pear Orchard Soil and Fruit)

  • BACKGROUND: Residual organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are designated as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) by Stockholm Convention because they bioaccumulate through the food web, and pose a risk of causing adverse effect to human health and the environment. Apple and pear is economic crop in agriculture, and its cultivation area and yield has been increased. Therefore, we tried to investigate the OCPs residue in apple and pear orchard soils and fruits. METHODS AND RESULTS: Extraction and clean-up method were developed using the modified QuEChERS method for residual organochlorine pesticides (ROCPs) in apple and pear orchard soil and fruits. Recovery and limit of quantitation (LOQ) of ROCPs in soil and fruits were 75.4-101.4 and 76.9-93.4%, 0.03-0.21 and $0.6-1.2{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. Detected ROCPs in apple and pear orchard soil was 2,4-DDT, 4,4-DDD, 4,4-DDE, 4,4-DDT, and endosulfan sulfate, the residues were 2.2, 1.9-48.0, 1.3-84.1, 90.6-863.1, and $11.3-239.0{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. But five pesticides in all fruit samples were not detected. CONCLUSION: These results showed that ROCPs residues in apple and pear orchard soil had no effect on safety of agricultural products.

소옥천유역 토양유실 우심지역 선정 및 대책에 관한 연구 (A Study on Selection and Measures of the Apprehensive Areas of Soil Loss in the So-ok Stream Watershed)

  • This study aims to find out critical areas of a soil loss and propose feasible measures to reduce the water quality deterioration by a soil lose. As a study area, the So-ok stream catchment locating at the upper area of Daecheong Reservoir is selected and intensive field observation was carried out. RUSLE model is applied to assess the impact of the pollution migration by a soil ross from the critical areas during storms on the water quality of Chusori embayment. As results, total amount of the soil ross assessed against to the critical area on which major type of land use is a orchard for fruits is 54.3 ton/ha/yr and that of an abandoned mine site is about 200 ton/ha/year. In particular as effective measures, a plantation of an appropriate species of fruit trees and an application of ecologic restoration schemes are proposed against to the orchard and the abandoned mine site, respectively.

특화작목과 기후변화 간 영향 분석을 통한 지역농업 활성화 전략 연구 -과수를 중심으로- (Specialization Strategy for Regional Agriculture Based on the Relationship between Development on Specialized Crops and Impact of Climate Change -Focused on Orchard Crops-)

  • The purpose of the present study is to construct a rural development strategy from the nexus between spatial changes in specialized crops and suitable cultivation area of the crops. This paper pays particular attention to identify product life cycle of specialized crops in rural areas and estimate the impact of climate change on alterations in spatial distribution of the crops. In order to do so, first of all, this study applies multi-level model (Random coefficient model) to estimate the regional coefficient of five orchard crops. It utilizes the data 1995 to 2010 Korea Agricultural Census. Futhermore, it also adopts overlay analysis by ArcGIS to identify the development path of the crops and the relationship with climate change. Based on the results, it suggests a mechanism activating regional agriculture. The findings propose re-searching and relocating specialized regions of the crops. Especially, it proves each rural area can drive the new agricultural strategy to strengthen regional agriculture by estimating the relationship between development of specialized crops and suitable cultivation areas. For instance, shifting specialized crops in particular regions and enriching genetic or species varieties can be primary measures and it will contribute to improve the reliable base for income sources in the rural communities. This paper also offers specific policy implications regarding rural development plans in response to crops' life cycle and climate changes.

사과 생육기의 기온이 사과원의 NEE에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Air Temperature During the Growing Season on NEE of the Apple Orchard)

  • Terrestrial ecosystem are a strong sink of carbon. Forest ecosystem, one of them, has been expected to play an important role in climate changing process by absorbing atmospheric carbon dioxide. On the other hand, agricultural ecosystem that consists mainly of annual crops is regarded as poor contributor to carbon accumulation, because its production (carbon hydrate) is decomposed into carbon at a short period, which is emitted to the atmosphere. However, it is thought that fruit tree plays a great role in decreasing atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, same as forest. Net ecosystem exchange of $CO_2$ (NEE) was measured to estimate carbon fixation capacity using an eddy covariance (EC) system method in 2 years from 2005 to 2006 at an apple orchard in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk. Average air temperature values were higher in 2006 than in 2005 during the dormant season, and lower by about $5^{\circ}C$ over the growing season causing visible cold injuries. Accordingly, we investigated long-term exchange of carbon to determine how much difference of carbon fixation capacity was shown between 2006 and 2005 in terms of environmental and plant variables such as NEE, leaf area index (LAI), and Albedo. NEE was $4.8Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ in 2005 and $4.7Mg\;C\;ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$ in 2006, respectively. Low temperature after July in 2006 decreased LAI values faster than those in 2005. Meanwhile, Albedo values were higher after July in 2006 than in 2005. These results show that the low temperature after July in 2006 apparently affected apple growth.

독뫼 감 농업의 GIAHS 등재 및 보전을 위한 4개국 과수 지역 GIAHS의 동적 계획 비교 및 분석 (Comparison and Analysis of Action Plans of GIAHS in the Four Countries of Orchards for GIAHS Listing and Conservation of Dokmoe Persimmon System)

  • Dokmoe persimmon system in Changwon, designated as a Korea National Important Agricultural Heritage System is a unique agricultural heritage system, is a farming system carried out in the sloping semi-mountainous terrain of the low hills downstream of the Nagdong River. In this study, we analyzed the proposal submitted for registration by the orchard region GIAHS and analyzed the regional characteristics, agricultural characteristics, and threats to heritage conservation of Dokmoe persimmon system. Dokmoe persimmon system is located in a large city, so the threat of development was analyzed as a threat factor differentiated from other regions, and the development of the processing industry was analyzed as a common initiative for GIAHS in the orchard area. Based on this, we established a action plan for heritage conservation. The action plan consists of 4 main criteria, 6 plans, and 14 initiatives. Research on Dokmoe persimmon farming is now at the starting point, and this study will be able to contribute to registration of Dokmo persimmon system in GIAHS.

  • Mountain agricultural land should become to the land use considering natural environmental conditions with characteristics of natural suitability . In this study , an evaluation of natural suitability was done for Pyongchang-gun , Kangwon-Do which has a lot of mountain agricultural lands using GIS according to the kind of land use (paddy, field, ordinary upland field, grassland, orchard land, forest).

Taiwan Agricultural Ecosystem Plant Investigation Methodology for Evaluating Agricultural Ecosystem Services

  • Farming practices that balance environmental friendliness with biodiversity are increasingly valuable. Wild plants on farmlands compete for nutrients with crops and create a crucial microhabitat and resources for animals such as natural enemies. Investigating farmlands and their surrounding plants with limited human and material resources has become an essential aspect of evaluating the agricultural ecosystem services. This study investigated plants in six agricultural long-term ecological research sites in Taiwan from 2017 to 2020 to determine the ideal season for investigation. Cluster analysis was performed to group habitats with similar plant composition, and the species-area curves of the clusters in each season were created. The results indicated that the agricultural ecosystem could be divided into farmlands, banks, orchards, and tea gardens. The habitats were divided into farmland, bank, Chia-Yi orchard, Gu-Keng orchard, and tea garden clusters. Ground plant cover can be investigated all year with at least 18 quadrats. However, if human and material resources are limited, 10 quadrats should be the minimum for farmlands in autumn and for the other microhabitats in spring. The minimum number of quadrats is 10 for banks, 17 for orchards, and 9 for tea gardens.

콩가루벌레 (Aphanostigma iakusuiense)에 관한 연구 (I) 방제시험을 중심으로 (Studies on Pear Phylloxera (Aphanostigma iakusuiense Kishida) (1) On the Control Methods)

  • 1974년 4월부터 11월사이에 전남 나주 과수원지대에서 발생되고 있는 콩가루벌레의 생활습성과 방제시험을 하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 월동란의 부위를 보면 지상 1.5-2.0m에다 $60\%$ 이상을 산란하며 0.5m나 2.5m는 각각 $10\%$내이 이었다. 2. 만삼길과 국수의 란괴와 부화율은 $13.7-12.97\%$로 품종간에 큰 차이는 없었다. 3. 부화율을 보면 4월 6일까지는 전혀 부화하지 않았으나 4월 13일에 $12.8\%$, 5월 4일에는 $90.6\%$의 부화를 하였다. 4. 초춘부화시기를 전후하여 8종의 농약을 살포한바 C8514, Metasystox, Acar338, Parathion이 Sevin이나 Malix보다 우수하였다. 5. 8월 20일부터 9월 20일사이에 콩가루벌레가 가장 많이 발생하였는데 그때에 란이나 약충이 비슷하게 발생하고 있었다. 6. 봉지로 침입한 후 약제시험을 한 바 DDVP, Loxoun, C8514, Acar338, Sevin, Binapacryl이 EPN, Otran보다 우수하였다. 7. 천적으로는 포식성응애 (Protolaelaps pygmaeus Muller)와 애남생이 무당벌레를 채집하였다. 포식성응애의 기생율은 지역에 따라서 다른데 비아과원지대에서는 $0.77-18.04\%$, 노안과원에서는 $7.88-48.71\%$의 높은 기생율을 보인 반면 영산포과원에서는 거의 기생하지 않았다. 8. 품종간에 피해과를 보면 조생적>국수>만삼길>금촌추>장심랑순이었다.

Revised Soil Survey of Yangju City in Gyunggido

  • Recently, agricultural lands have decreased sharply, which was caused by huge housing site, urbanization, land consolidation, and road construction etc. In particular, Yangju city near Seoul city has the most severe land use change in Korea. Therefore, we analyzed changes of land use, soil properties, and soil information in order to provide the basic soil information and soil management practices in this city. The area of crop cultivated land in Korea (2015) reduced by 12,090 ha compared to ones from the previous year (2014). The paddy field decreased by 25,421 ha but, upland field increased by 13,331 ha. One of the reasons for the reduction of the paddy field was converting paddy field to upland (20,916 ha) > others (3,056) > building (2,571) > public facilities (847) > idle land (217). But, reasons for increase of upland field were switching paddy to upland (20,916 ha) > land developed (634). The main reason of converting paddy field to upland was changing from rice to more profitable speciality crops or pulses. The cropland area (paddy fields, upland, orchard) of Yangju city reduced by 1,412 ha (2015/2014). The ratio of cropland area in each city reduced by 22.9% dramatically compared 2015 to 1999. The paddy fields located in alluvial plains in Yangju city were changed into upland or green house. The drainage classes of soil have been deteriorated because the flows of water were intercepted by road construction and other disturbance to water flows. In particular, paddy fields have been changed to not only upland, orchard, greenhouse cultivation but also to fallow and soil dressing on paddy in Yangju city. To analyze result of soil survey of Yangju city, 858 soil codes (soil phases) were used and the area was 105.17ha. The number of soil series increased from 60 to 65, and that of soil phase increased from 105 to 124. The largest increased area was Noegog soil series. 125.7ha of Neogog soil series was incorporated from the existing Sachon, Yecheon and Eungog soil series. The soil suitability class of paddy field in Ogjung huge housing site of Yangju city was the 4th grade for 32.6% of the area. The soil suitability classes of upland were 2nd and 3rd grade for 72.4% of the area. Farm land with high quality should be conserved by related law.

과수 농작업자 농약노출량 산정법 제안 (The proposal for pesticide exposure estimation of Korean orchard farmer)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 과원에서 농작업자 농약노출량의 산정방법을 제안하기 위하여 수행되었다. 우리나라 농작업자의 농약 노출량을 산정하기 위한 벤치마킹 모델로써 UK-POEM을 제안하였다. 그러나 이 모델은 영국에서 자국의 농작업자에 대한 농약 노출량을 산정하기 위한 모델이므로 우리나라 농작업자의 농약노출량 산정에 직접이용 하기에는 1일 농약살포 기기 및 면적, 살포시간, 살포물량 등에서 많은 차이점이 있다. 따라서 우리나라 과수농업의 현실을 반영하기 위하여 UK-POEM의 구동방법을 분석하곤 우리나라 과원의 농약 살포기기, 1일 농약살포 시간, 1일 농약살포 면적, ha당 농약살포 물량 등을 204농가 4351 농약사용 건수에 대하여 조사하였다. 과원에 농약 살포를 위하여 사용되는 살포기기를 분석한 결과 SS기(speed sprayer)가 64.9%이었고, 동력분무기(Motor sprayer)가 33.9% 사용되는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 1일 농약살포시간을 조사한 결과 SS기, 동력살포기 모두 4시간 이상 작업하는 농가가 가장 많았고, 1일 농약 살포 면적은 SS기의 사용 시 4 ha를 작업하는 농가가 95%이었으며, 동력분무기를 이용하는 농가는 하루 1 ha를 처리하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 조사 결과를 바탕으로 UK-POEM을 근간으로 한 우리나라 실정에 맞는 노출시나리오를 작성하였다. SS기의 경우 약제의 살포방법 면에서 유사한 UK-POEM의 "Tractor-mounted/trailed broadcast air-assist sprayer: 500 L/ha"에 1일 작업면적 4 ha, 1일 농약살포 시간 6시간, 피부흡수율 10%를 대입할 것을 제안하였다. 동력분무기의 경우 UK-POEM의 "hand-held rotary atomizer equipment(2.5 L tank). Outdoor, high level target" 시나리오의 내용을 조금 변형한 400 L tank에 대한 시나리오를 작성하여 살포액의 조제시 노출량을 계산할 것과 1일 작업면적 1 ha, 1일 농약살포 시간 6시간, 피부흡수율 10%를 대입할 것을 제안하였다.
