Improvement of Sound Quality for the Vehicle HVAC System Using Optimum Layout of Damping Material (제진재의 최적배치를 이용한 차량공조시스템의 음질개선)

  • The reduction of the Vehicle interior noise has been the main interest of NVH engineers. The driver's perception on the vehicle noise is affected largely by psychoacoustic characteristic of the noise as well as the SPL. In particular, the HVAC sound among the vehicle interior noise has been reflected sensitively in the side of psychology. In previous study, we have developed to verify identification of source for the vehicle HVAC system through multiple-dimensional spectral analysis. Also we carried out objective assessments on the vehicle HVAC noises and subjective assessments have been already performed with 30 subjects. In this study, the linear regression models were obtained for the subjective evaluation and the sound quality metrics. The regression procedure also allows you to produce diagnostic statistics to evaluate the regression estimates including appropriation and accuracy. Appropriation of regression model is necessary to $R^2$ value and F-value. And testing for regression model is necessary to independence, homoscedesticity and normality. Also we selected optimum layout of damping material using Taguchi method. As a result of application, sound quality is improved more quietly, powerfully, even though costly, and smoothly.

Effect of Growth Conditions on Saponin Content and Ginsenoside Pattern of Panax ginseng

  • For the elucidation of significance of saponin as quality criterion of ginseng ginsenoside content(GC) and ginsenoside pattern similarity(GPS) by simple correlation were investigated in relation to red ginseng quality factors, age, plant part, harvest season, mineral nutrition, soil physical characteristics, growth light and temperature, shading material, growth location, physiological disease and crop stand through survey of ginseng plantstions, field experiments, water culture and phytotron experiments. Effect of tissue culture was also reviewed. GC was negatively correlated with good quality of red ·ginseng and positively with bad quality. Age did not show any consistency with GC but GPS was less with the increase of age difference. GPS was less or not significant between taproot that is lowest in GC and epidermis highest, and significant between leaf and taproot. Harvest season marked with the lowest GC and Pattern was also different. Nutrient imbalance, the increase of hazardous soil nutrient and physical condition to growth increased GC, but GPS was little different. The higher the growth lights intensity and temperature the higher the GC but GPS was little changed. Root rust increased GC, but root scab decreased it. Sponge-like and inside cavity phenomena increased GC. Ginsenoside pattern of cultured tissues and rootlet showed great variation. These results strongly indicate that there are optimum saponin content and ginsenoside pattern and that these are accomplished under the optimum growth condition.

Evaluation of the High Purity ZnTe which is an Far-Infrared Sensor Material (적외선 센서 재료로 사용되는 고순도 ZnTe박막의 평가)

  • Optical measurements have been used to study the biaxial tensile strain in heteroeptaxial ZnTe epilayers on the (100) GaAs substrate by hot wall epitaxy (HWE) with Zn reservoir. It is effect on the low-temperature photoluminescence spectrum of the material. Optimum growth condition has been determined by a four-crystal rocking curve (FCRC) and a low temperature photoluminescence measurement (PL). It was found that Zn partial pressure from Zn reservoir has a strong influence on the quality of grown films. Under the determined optimum growth condition, ZnTe epitaxial films with thickness of 0.72~24.8$\mu\textrm{m}$ were grown for studying the effect of the thickness on crystalline quality. The PL and FCRC results indicated that the quality of ZnTe films becomes higher rapidly with increase of thickness up to 6$\mu\textrm{m}$. The best value of the FWHM of the four crystal rocking curve, 66 arcsec, was obtained on the film with 12$\mu\textrm{m}$ in thickness. The PL spectrum shows the splitted strong free exciton emissions and very weak deep band emissions. These results show the high quality of films.

  • In this study, recently it is urgently required that demolition waste concrete has to be recycled on the construction because urban development is accelerated and redevelopment project is rapidly expanded, production quantity of construction and demolition waste concrete is being increased. On the other hand, it has to be solved urgently the unbalance of demand and supply about the fine aggregate because the sea sand is restricted by exhaustion of river sand and intensification of environment influence evaluation. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to show the performance of the apparatus developed by the study and to propose the direction of the optimum operating conditions by having an experimental and positive evaluation about quality of recycled sand produced to develop a separating and selecting device of impurities for recycling of construction wastes which can have a bigger improvement of economical efficiency, productivity, environmental property and quality through a basic property of matter of recycled sand by each operating condition of sand flux in comparison with the existing production system of recycled sand.

  • This study was performed to optimize friction welding conditions of Cr-Mo steel bars used for hydraulic of pneumatic valve spools and to realize the real-time evaluation of weld quality by acoustic emission method. SNCM220, SCM435, SCAM645, and SCM415 steel bars were tested to find optimum conditions of friction welding. Auantitative equations which exhibit the relations of tensile strength, elongation, reduction of area and energy absorption with friction heating time were obtained by the experiment. Acoustic emission was also performed in the friction weldig process, and the real-time evaluation was enabled to find the optimum range of weld strength. Finally, the strength and toughness of welded joints were interpreted by the sem analysis of tensile fracture surfaces.

  • In this paper, authors are trying to find optimum spot weldig conditions to minimize indentation of the plate surface which is crucial to quality of stainless rolling stocks. At first, to derive a simple equation to estimate the depth of indentation, a simplified one-dimensional bar model is proposed and validity of the model is confirmed by experiments. And also, to find proper welding conditions giving satisfied tensile strength of the welded joint, a simple formula is derived referring to the standard spot welding conditions by AWS. Optimization problem is formulated to find welding conditions such as welding current, time and applied force which give minimum indentation and proper tensile strength of joint, and solutions are found out. According to the results, the depth of indentation can be expressed by applied electrode froces and it can be shown that an optimum applied force exists.

  • This paper summarizes the results of a numerical study conducted to analyze the determination of optimum blank diameter on material flow and thread profile for Spindle Screw in external thread rolling. Initial blank diameter affect a quality of Spindle Screw in thread rolling process. Therefore, it is very important to determine the optimum blank diameter in thread rolling process. In order to determine the optimum blank diameter, this paper suggest the calculating method of initial blank diameter considering real shape of tooth. The finite element code DEFORM is applied to analyze the metal flow of tooth. then the analytical results are verified by experiment of thread rolling for Spindle Screw.

The Establishment of Optimum Conditions for Saccharification in Manufacturing Red Ginseng Sikhye

  • Red ginseng sikhye is one of Korean unique beverages with the addition of effective ingredients of ginseng. Considering economical and mechanical efficiency and quality of sikhye, the optimum conditions for saccharification is to saccharify at 90 degree celsius for 3 hours in the composition of 4% of malt, 20% of steamed rice, and 6% of red ginseng power. The red ginseng sikhye has high soluble solid content over 33% compared with conventional commercial sikhye. On the other hand, ginseng sikhye, which shows low pH, has more or less higher acidity than conventional commercial one. Especially the turbidity of the red ginseng sikhye is much higher than that of commercial sikhye, due to as high amount of rice as 20% compared with 3% in the commercial one. The use of high quantity of rice affected the level of turbidity in red ginseng sikhye. In this study, we wanted to establish optimum conditions for saccharification in manufacturing red ginseng sikhye which contains effective herbal medicinal ingredients maintaining the original taste of traditional sikhye.

  • Estimating optimum hardware capacity of an e-learning system is very important process to grasp reasonable size of designing technique architecture and budget during step of ISP(information strategic planning) and development. It hugely influences cost and quality of the whole project. While investment on information system hardware has been continuously increased, there was no certified hardware capacity estimating method in e-learning system development. A guideline for hardware sizing of information systems was established by Telecommunication Technology Association in 2008. However, the guideline is not appropriate for estimating optimum hardware capacity of an e-learning system because it was designed to provide general standards for estimating hardware capacity of various types of projects. The purpose of this paper is to provide a methodology for estimating optimum hardware capacity in e-learning system development. To develop the methodology, this study, first of all, analyzes two e-learning development projects, in which the guideline was applied to estimate optimum hardware capacity. Then, this study finds out several key factors influencing on hardware capacity. Finally, this study suggests a methodology for estimating optimum hardware capacity of an e-learning system, in which weights for the factors are determined through AHP analysis.
