Accurate remaining useful life (RUL) prediction for critical components of nuclear power equipment is an important way to realize aging management of nuclear power equipment. The electric gate valve is one of the most safety-critical and widely distributed mechanical equipment in nuclear power installations. However, the electric gate valve's extended service in nuclear installations causes aging and degradation induced by crack propagation and leakages. Hence, it is necessary to develop a robust RUL prediction method to evaluate its operating state. Although the particle filter(PF) algorithm and its variants can deal with this nonlinear problem effectively, they suffer from severe particle degeneracy and depletion, which leads to its sub-optimal performance. In this study, we combined the whale algorithm with regularized particle filtering(RPF) to rationalize the particle distribution before resampling, so as to solve the problem of particle degradation, and for valve RUL prediction. The valve's crack propagation is studied using the RPF approach, which takes the Paris Law as a condition function. The crack growth is observed and updated using the root-mean-square (RMS) signal collected from the acoustic emission sensor. At the same time, the proposed method is compared with other optimization algorithms, such as particle swarm optimization algorithm, and verified by the realistic valve aging experimental data. The conclusion shows that the proposed method can effectively predict and analyze the typical valve degradation patterns.
It is an anaerobic germ that Lactobacillus cell concentrated using ceramic membrane has high stability and long lifetime as compared with polymeric membrane. The effects of operating pressure, temperature, crossflow velocity on cell harvesting have been studied. Also the variation of flux and transmembrane pressure (TMP) with increasing concentration ratio and the change of TMP at constant concentration ratio (volumetric concentration factor: VCF) regarding the optimization have been examined. It showed that the permeate flux increased gradually with the increasing of transmembrane pressure, crossflow velocity, and volumetric concentration factor. The higher initial flux was due to the reduction of viscosity at elevated temperature. However, as operating time progressed, the effect of temperature was negligible since the effect of viscosity became minor. As a result, that operate in a constant concentration ratio, decreased degree could know that become slowly although the flux decreases according as operating time progressed. The flux is a very stable in the condition of constant VCF range. The yield of Latobaciilus (PS 406) which was cultivated at $37^{\circ}C$ was concentrated about 4.9{\times}10^9$ after operation.
Acetobacter xylinum KJ1 efficiently producing bacterial cellulose(BC) in shaking culture was isolated from a rotten grape. The strain was used to investigate optimum operating conditions for increasing BC production and factorial design model was employed for the optimization. The results of experiments were statistically analyzed by SAS program. Reciprocal effects of each factors(carbon source concentration, shaking speeds(rpm), oxygen pressure, and CSL concentration) and culture condition of BC production were examined by getting regression equation of the dependent variable. Comparisons between experimental results and predicted results about BC concentration were done in total 24 experiments by combination of each factors using SAS program, and the correlation coefficients of BC concentration and BC yield were 0.91 and 0.81, respectively. The agitated cultures were performed in various operation conditions of factors which affected considerably to BC production in jar fermentor. The results showed that BC concentration was 11.67g/ L in 80 hours cultivation under the condition of carbon source concentration shaking speeds(rpm) : oxygen pressure: CSL concentration = 4% : 460rpm : 0.28 : 6%. On the other hand BC yield was 0.42g/g in 80 hours cultivation under the condition of carbon source concentration shaking speeds(rpm) : oxygen pressure: CSL concentration = 4% : 564rpm : 0.21 : 2%. The BC production could be enhanced up to more than 65.3% by factorial design. The result of a verifying experiment under the optimal conditions determined by the factorial design to the BC production showed that the model was appropriate by obtaining BC concentration of 11.02g/L in the optimum condition

To improve the gear noise quality, gear tooth grinding machine are widely used in automotive industry. While using the gear profile grinding machine to improve the gear tooth quality of the transmission, several defects such as chattering, tooth waves that cause the gear noise occasionally happened. But it is very difficult to solve that problem, because there is no one who knows the setting up the optimal grinding condition appropriately. The abnormal manufacturing conditions which make the gear noise make the engineer to spend a lot of time, effort, and money. Due to demands for solving the serious abnormal gear noise happened in the new FF 6th stage automatic transmission in the mass product stage, the vibration checking process in the worm wheel axis, work rotation and fixed axis of the grinding machine were adapted to find the root causes. As a result, gear profile wave are affected by the work rotation axis's unbalance which is caused by worm wheel feeding speed. And a primary and the secondary grinding feeding speed, cutting oil, work fixed forces are also proved as the important factors. After setting up the grinding condition reported in this paper, it was adapted successfully to the grinding machine to manufacture the new FF 6th speed automatic transmissions' output gear. The gear noise was dramatically disappeared and the process and results will offer good guides to the engineers who manufacture the gear with the grinding machine.

With the sharp increase of the oil price, the issue of the energy saving requires even higher propulsive efficiency of the propellers. Traditionally the propellers have been designed with the criteria such as that of Lerbs optimum based on the lifting line theory and the empirical formulae of Lerbs and van Manen giving relations of the wake pitch with the wake non-uniformity. With the aid of the high speed computer, it is now possible to apply the time-consuming iterative approaches for the solution of the lifting surface problems. In this paper we formulate the variational problem to optimize the efficiency of the propeller operating in the given ship wake using the lifting surface method. The variational formulation relating the spanwise circulation distribution with the propulsive efficiency to be maximized is however non-linear in circulation distribution functions, thus the iterative method is applied to the quasi-linearized equations. The blade shape design also requires the iterative procedures, because the shape of the blade which is represented by the lifting surface is unknown a priori. The numerical code was validated with the DTNSRDC propeller 4119 which is well-known to be optimum in uniform inflow condition. In addition existing (well-designed) commercial propellers were selected and compared with the results of the open water tests and the self-propulsion tests.
In the present work, the operating parameters were optimized using Box Behnken Design (BBD) in response surface methodology (RSM) to maximize the hydrogen production rate (R1) and hydrogen production rate per unit watt consumed (R2) of a proton exchange membrane electrolysis cell (PEMEC), a third response (R3) which was the sum of the scaled values of R1 and R2 were selected to be maximized so that both hydrogen production rate and hydrogen production rate per unit watt consumed could be maximized. The major parameters which were influencing the experiment for enhancing the output responses were oxygen electrode/anode electrocatalyst loading (A), current supplied (B) and water inlet temperature (C). The commercial proton exchange membrane Nafion® was used as the electrolyte. The acetylene black carbon (CAB) supported IrO2 was used as the electrocatalyst for preparing oxygen electrode/anode whereas commercial Pt (40 wt%)/CHSA was used as the H2 electrode/cathode electrocatalyst. The quadratic model was developed to predict the output/ responses and their proximity to the experimental output values. The developed model was found to be significant as the P values for both the responses were < 0.0001 and F values were greater than 1. The optimum condition for both the responses were O2 electrode/anode electrocatalyst loading of 1.78 mg/cm2, supplied current of 0.33 A and water inlet temperature of 54℃. The predicted values for hydrogen production rate (R1) and hydrogen production rate per unit watt consumed (R2) were 2.921 mL/min and 2.562 mL/(min·W), respectively obtained from the quadratic model. The error % between the predicted response values and experimental values were 1.47% and 3.08% for R1 and R2, respectively. This model predicted the optimum conditions reasonably in good agreement with the experimental conditions for the enhancement of the output responses of the developed PEM based electrolyser.

In radio frequency identification(RFID) systems, when an RFID reader uses the same or adjacent frequency with neighbor readers, the interference between the readers may occur, which causes the reader collision and errors in tag recognition. In the previous study on RFID reader anti-collision, the techniques based on Frequency Division Mutiplex(FDM) or Time Division Multiplex(TDM) are proposed. However in these paper, the problem on the condition of RFID reader-to-reader interference considering the distance between interfering readers, frequency and operating time is not define exactly. In this paper, the interference effect is analyzed through RFID reader interference model considering the TDM and FDM, and the optimization problem is defined. To solve this, genetic-resource allocation technique is proposed. Therefore the optimal resource allocation applied RFID environment faithfully is accomplished.

We proposed an MEA development methodology that accurately measures intrinsic MEA performance while considering the uneven reaction environments formed inside a large-area BP. To facilitate measurement of the inherent MEA performance, we miniaturized the active area of the MEA to 3 cm2, and prepared two MEAs with different ionomer contents of 0.65 and 0.80 (I/C). By simulating the operating conditions of a 100 cm2 BP at the inlet (I), center (C), and outlet (O), the oxygen concentration and relative humidity were determined to be 20.7, 13.8, 11.7%, and 50, 66.1, and 70.1% respectively. We measured the performance and electrochemical analysis of the prepared MEAs under the three simulated conditions. Based on the results of statistical analysis of the evaluated MEA performance data, I/C 0.65 MEA had a higher average performance and lower performance deviation than I/C 0.80 MEA. Hence, it can be concluded that an I/C 0.65 MEA is a more effective MEA for large-area BP. Based on the above research process, we confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed MEA development methodology.

This paper analyzes the vibration characteristics within the cargo compartment of a three-wheeled cargo bike when used on both regular roads and dedicated bicycle lanes. When cargo is loaded into the cargo compartment of a cargo bike and driven on the road, the shocks and vibrations transmitted from the ground can potentially affect the transported goods and even lead to product damage. As the vibration characteristics applied to the cargo compartment may vary depending on the condition of the road, vibration sensors were attached to the cargo bike's cargo compartment for data collection during operation on different road types. According to KS T ISO 13355 standards, the cargo bike can withstand vibrations within the range of 10 Hz to 60 Hz when operating on both bicycle lanes and regular roads. However, it is observed that there are peaks exceeding the profile in the frequency range of 3-6 Hz. In the 70-200 Hz range, the profile is exceeded on both regular roads and bicycle lanes, with a tendency for higher exceedance on bicycle lanes. The Grms value within the frequency range of KS T ISO 13355 is 5.926 m/s2 (0.604 Grms). When operating on bicycle lanes with cargo, the Peak envelope optimization PSD value is 6.553 Grms, while on bicycle lanes, it is 7.708 Grms, indicating a difference of at least tenfold.
