Generation Human -like Arm Motion to Catch a Moving Object

  • Robots are required to assist our activities in daily life. In this paper, we focus on arm movement to catch moving object as one of important tasks frequently performed by human. We propose an algorithm which enables a robot to perform human-like arm motion to catch a moving object. First we analyze human hand trajectories and velocity profiles to catch an object. From the experimental results, we extract some characteristics in the process of approaching and following a moving object and confirm that these are necessary to realize human-like motion. We then adopt an instantaneous optimal control method which evaluates the error and energy cost at each sampling step, and design two time-varying weight matrices to introduce human characteristic into robot motion.   • Based on the design requirements(size, strength, structure, weight, and etc.) for the rubber-tired AGT vehicle, carbody made of aluminum alloy is designed. The analysis of strength and stiffness is performed in the designed carbody, which results in the modification for optimal shapes and structures. It consists of a under frame, side frame, roof frame, end frame and forehead frame. After the carbody manufactured, tests are performed, which are vertical load test, longitudinal compressive load test, twisting load test, twisting natural frequency measurement, bending natural frequency measurement and 3 points supporting test. Results of them can guarantee a structural safety.

Design and Implementation of Routing System Using Artificial Neural Network

  • In this paper, we propose optimal route searching algorithm using ANN(Artificial Neural Network) and implement route searching system. Our proposed scheme shows that the route using artificial neural network is almost same as the route using Dijkstra's algorithm but the time in our propose algorithm is shorter than that of existing Dijkstra's algorithm. Proposed route searching method using artificial neural network has better performance than exiting route searching method because it use several weight value in making different routes. Through simulation, we show that our proposed routing system improves the performance and reduces time to make route irrespective of the number of hidden layers.

Design of high speed weighted FDNN applied DWW algorithm (DWW 알고리즘을 적용한 고속 가중 FDNN의 설계)

  • In this paper, after we got to realized FDNN (fuzzy decision neural network) applied the quantization triangularity fuzzy function to DBNN(decision based neural network) of a hierarchical structure for image process, we could esign hardware of the realized FDNN. Also it is normalized the standard image and the input image as the same size. We are applied DWW algorithm which selected the closest value with finding similarity of an interval image by this distance to FDNN. So we could calulated in terms of distance to weight of pixel which composed two image and eliminated the nise of image, minimized the lost of information, obtained the optimal information. It is designed hardware of high speed weighted FDNN using COMPASS tool. Aslo, the total circuit is realized as gates of 61,000 and could show to superiority of FDNN using the simulation.

  • Qualification test items and those certification procedures of aircraft hydraulic pump are investigated in this report. Weight minimization through optimal design of aircraft hydraulic pump and its certification process investigation are very important. In this report, some fundamental performance data was presumed for the normal aircraft hydraulic pump, and then basic procedures for qualification tests are presented.

  • Permanent magnet-excited transverse flux linear motor(TFLM) is known to have more excellent ratio of force to weight than any other linear motors. But, thrust generated by phase current is non-linear with regard to current and relative position like switched reluctance motor. This makes current and speed controller design difficult. This paper presents a method on minimization of thrust ripple of permanent magnet-excited transverse flux linear motor. Using genetic algorithm(GA), optimal current waveform can be found under the constraint conditions such as current limit, minimum of ohmic loss and limited rate of change of current etc. The effectiveness is verified through computer simulation and experimental test results.

  • MTS(Monobloc Tube Shaft) has been used for the reduction in weight of shaft and increase in supply of power in the auto industry nowadays. Cold drawing process having high productivity and reduction in the cost has been regarded as the effective technology that is able to substitute for swaging process as forming MTS with constant outer diameter or hollow shaft without surface defects. The objective of this study is not only to find out the optimal process conditions understanding the effect of process parameters on carrying out cold drawing process of SIS(Steering Input Shaft) but also to control the defects resulted from inappropriate process conditions. Therefore, the proper drawing conditions are presented using FE-Analysis and experiment in the paper.

  • Preterm infants are frequently discharged from the hospital with growth retardation. Given the potentially lifelong effects of growth impairmnet during a critical time of development, considerable effort should be focused on improving growth after discharge. Growth monitoring must be based on regular measurements of weight, length, and head circumference to identify those preterm infants with poor growth that may need additional nutritional support. Although prior studies vary in design and the intervention used, the evidence supports the use of fortified formulas in formula-fed preterm infants after discharge. The situation for infants fed human milk is much less clear, it seems prudent to concentrate our efforts on the encouragement of breast-feeding in this population. Catch up growth may have many benefits, and may lead to improved development. However, its long-term metabolic consequences are currently unclear. Understanding the optimal means of providing nutrition after discharge is an ongoing process.

  • This paper describes dynamic finite element analyses performed to study the dynamic behaviors of a shipping container under the impact onto rigid target due to the accidental fall from the hight of 9 m. Using two and three dimensional techniques, the shipping container which gave the maximum damage, ten different drop orientations are considered ; at intervals of $5^{\circ}$ from $45^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$ According to the present results, the orientation of the shipping container which gave the maximum damage is $85^{\circ}$ from horizontal for oblique drop in the primary impact. In the optimal design of the shipping container, the impact limiter material must be considered importantly because it's proper selection affects the weight and the manufacturing cost of the shipping container. The analysis of the shipping container in this paper demonstrated that the shipping container is structurally sound relative to the regulatory drop test requirements.

  • For the purpose of high outlet pressure, compactness and low vibration and noise, 2 stage reciprocating air compressors can have various cylinder arrangement: opposed, in-line, and V type. This paper presents an effective method to calculate the inertia forces and to design counter weight. This method is based on the complex representation for the orbital behavior of the compressor shaft. This method helps to find the optimal balancing rate easily to reduce the inertial force or moment. This paper shows that the residual inertia forces of the single throw shafts and the residual inertia moments of the double throw shafts remain to be imbalanced.
