연속적인 스카이라인 질의의 정적 유효 영역을 이용한 효율적인 처리 (Efficient Processing using Static Validity Circle for Continuous Skyline Queries)

  • 시간이 변함에 따라 위치 좌표를 변경하는 모바일 환경에서 이동 객체는 자신의 위치를 기준으로 질의를 요청한다. 연속적인 스카이라인 질의 처리를 위한 효율적인 영역 결정 기법에서는 이동 객체의 속도와 방향과는 무관한 최적화된 스카이라인 영역(OSR: Optimal Skyline Region)을 미리 계산하여 질의에 답할 수 있다. 이에 따라 이동 객체의 위치를 중심으로 하고 가장 가까운 영역 변까지의 거리를 반경으로 하는 원(Vcircle: Validity Circle)을 유효 영역으로 결정하여 질의 발생 빈도를 감소하는 기법이 제안되고 있다. 그러나 원은 최초 질의가 발생한 시점의 이동 객체 위치에 따라 면적이 가변적이므로 질의 발생 빈도도 가변적이고, 객체가 최적화된 스카이라인 영역 내에서 이동하는 경우에 재질의가 빈번하게 발생하는 문제점이 발생한다. 예를 들어 사용자는 '현재 위치에서 가깝고 숙박료가 싸고, 해변과의 거리가 가까운 호텔을 검색하라'는 질의를 할 수 있다. 이 경우, 이동 객체와 대상 객체의 거리뿐만 아니라 대상 객체의 다중 속성을 고려해야하고, 스카이라인 질의 결과는 이동 객체의 현재 위치와 대상 객체의 거리에 따라 유효하지 않을 수 있으므로 이동 객체의 위치 변경에 따라 스카이라인을 재계산해야 하며, 새로운 결과를 요청하기 위해 연속적인 질의가 발생한다. 이 논문에서는 항상 볼록 다각형을 형성하는 최적화된 스카이라인 영역의 특징을 이용하여 스카이라인 영역의 최대내부원(IVcircle: Interior Validity Circle)을 정적 유효 영역으로 결정하는 기법을 제안한다. 실험을 통하여 영역내의 평균 질의 발생 빈도를 기존의 Vcircle을 이용한 동적 유효 영역 결정 기법보다 평균 52.55%가 감소함을 보인다.

  • 불확실한 측정값 근원의 문제에서는 표적을 최적으로 탐지해내는 것이 유용하다. 본 논문에서는 클러터 환경에서 표적을 추적하는 경우에 탐지확률 및 오경보확률과 동시에 탐지문턱값 처리에 따른 추적오차를 살펴보고, 문턱값과 표적추적 유효화영역의 최적화 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션을 통해 상태추정오차공분산의 측면에서 성능을 분석한다.

Optimum Region-of-Interest Acquisition for Intelligent Surveillance System using Multiple Active Cameras

  • In this paper, we present real-time, accurate face region detection and tracking technique for an intelligent surveillance system. It is very important to obtain the high-resolution images, which enables accurate identification of an object-of-interest. Conventional surveillance or security systems, however, usually provide poor image quality because they use one or more fixed cameras and keep recording scenes without any cine. We implemented a real-time surveillance system that tracks a moving person using four pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. While tracking, the region-of-interest (ROI) can be obtained by using a low-pass filter and background subtraction. Color information in the ROI is updated to extract features for optimal tracking and zooming. The experiment with real human faces showed highly acceptable results in the sense of both accuracy and computational efficiency.

  • A new and efficient method for estimating the statistical moments of a system performance function has been developed. The method consists of two steps: (1) An approximate response surface is generated by a quadratic regression model, and (2) the statistical moments of the regression model are then calculated by experimental design techniques proposed by Seo and $Kwak^{(4)}$. In this approach, the size of experimental region affects the accuracy of the statistical moments. Therefore, the region size should be selected suitably. The D-optimal design and the central composite design are adopted over the selected experimental region for the regression model. Finally, the Pearson system is adopted to decide the distribution type of the system performance function and to analyze structural reliability.

  • Nowadays, everyone emphasis the important of environment. it is found that try to apply using the naturally favorable method when arrange irrigation and drainage channel. But we have no accurate standard of region selection yet. so it is make a many problem. The purpose of this study is the making of standard which is optimal region selection for the creation of the naturally favorable waterfront area. We surveyed data of twenty site in korea where are managed by the KARICO(Korea Agricultural Rural Infrastructure Corporation). We analysed the data using suitable three method(simple adding point method, subjectivity decision method, checklist method) for purpose of this study.

Design of Distributed Beamforming for Dual-Hop Multiple-Access Relay Networks

  • This paper studies a dual-hop multiple-access relay network where two independent source nodes transmit information to a common destination node with the aid of multiple single-antenna amplify-and-forward relays. Each relay node is subject to an individual power constraint. We focus on the design of distributed beamforming schemes for the relays to support the transmission rate requirements of the two sources. To this end, we first characterize the achievable rate region for this network via solving a sequence of corner point optimization problems proposed in this paper. We also develop several low-complexity suboptimal schemes in closed form. Two inner bounds of the achievable rate region are theoretically shown to be approximately optimal in two special scenarios. Finally, numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approaches.

Comparative Analysis of Urban Public Transportation Systems with Emphasis on Subway-Feeder Bus System

  • This paper attempts to develop a method which combines a subway system with a feeder bus system in order to increase the efficiency of the performance of the subway system. The 'feasible region' where a subway system is more desirable than a conventional bus in its travel time far the CBD-bound trip is determined and the service-specification models of the two systems in this region have been formulated and analyzed in an aggregate manner. The model developed in this study is applied to the Subway Line No. 1 in Seoul. The result obtained in the analysis indicates that the combined system can be guaranteed as a desirable mode in the point of travel time and cost within the feasible region. The concept of the model will lead to a proper assessment of the system's potentials for the choice of an optimal combination of the existing transport technologies.

Fuzzy Training Based on Segmentation Using Spatial Region Growing

  • This study proposes an approach to unsupervisedly estimate the number of classes and the parameters of defining the classes in order to train the classifier. In the proposed method, the image is segmented using a spatial region growing based on hierarchical clustering, and fuzzy training is then employed to find the sample classes that well represent the ground truth. For cluster validation, this approach iteratively estimates the class-parameters in the fuzzy training for the sample classes and continuously computes the log-likelihood ratio of two consecutive class-numbers. The maximum ratio rule is applied to determine the optimal number of classes. The experimental results show that the new scheme proposed in this study could be used to select the regions with different characteristics existed on the scene of observed image as an alternative of field survey that is so expensive.

  • Based on GIS technologies, a decision support system (GIDSS) has been developed to remediate agricultural lands in the Bryansk region (Russia) contaminated by 137Cs after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. GIDSS is a multilevel system consisting of basic, information and computational layers. GIDSS allows justifying a targeted approach for the remediation of agricultural lands belonging to agricultural enterprises for the production that meets the established radiological requirements for the content of radionuclides. Evaluation of the effectiveness of alternative remediation technologies and the selection of optimal measures were carried out at the level of elementary plots using radiological criteria. The introduction of GIDSS will enable agricultural producers in the south-western districts of the Bryansk region to conduct radiation-safe agro-industrial production in radioactively contaminated areas, which will help improve the socio-economic situation of the region and return it to normal living conditions.
