  • The cogeneration system has a strong merit in providing thermal and electrical energy simultaneously. Nowadays, cogeneration system is widely used in the point of efficient use of the energy resources And the installation of the system is expected to be greatly increased in each year. So, we need to develop an optimal operation planning for those systems. In this paper, we are used to result what studed at the my power system of room because it is in order to solve maintenance scheduling problem. Also we added a constraints to the proposed maintenance model for optimal maintenance rate. In the case study, we construct an multi-machine generated example system which operated in topping cycle, and calculate the yearly optimal production cost, marginal maintenance cost, and maintenance scheduling of the example system respectively.

  • Due to global environmental regulations and policies with rapid advancement of renewable energy technologies, the development type of renewable energy sources (RES) in power systems is expanding from small-scale distributed generation to large-scale grid-connected systems. In the near future, it is expected that RES achieves grid parity which means the equilibrium point where the power cost of RES is equal to the power costs of conventional generators. However, although RES would achieve the grid parity, the cost related with development of large-scale RES is still a big burden. Furthermore, it is hard to determine a suitable capacity of RES because of their output characteristics affected by locations and weather effects. Therefore, to determine an optimal capacity for RES becomes an important decision-making problem. This study proposes a method for determining an optimal installed capacity of RES from the business viewpoint of an independent power plant (IPP). In order to verify the proposed method, we have performed case studies on real power system in Incheon and Shiheung areas, South Korea.

고속도로 합류구간 첨단 차로변경 보조 시스템 개발 : 최적 차로변경 시작 지점 Positioning 알고리즘 (Advanced Lane Change Assist System for Automatic Vehicle Control in Merging Sections : An algorithm for Optimal Lane Change Start Point Positioning)

  • 차로변경은 운전자의 숙련된 주변인식 및 운전기술이 요구되어 심각한 교통사고를 야기한다. 그리하여 우리는 불가피한 차로변경이 대두되는 고속도로 합류구간에서 본선으로 합류하는 차량의 차로변경을 보조하는 차량 자동제어 시스템 (ALCAS; Advanced Lane Change Assist System)을 개발한다. 본 연구에서는 ALCAS 중 조향이 수행되기 이전에 최적 차로변경 시작지점(Optimal Lane Change Start Point; OLCSP)을 생성하고 그 지점까지 도달하는 종방향 제어 알고리즘 개발에 초점을 두었다. 이를 위해 우선 고속도로 합류구간의 차로변경 행태를 분석하였고, 실제 차량의 가속도 함수 형태를 통해 차로변경 특징모형(Lane Change Feature Model)을 설계하였다. 그 후 차로변경 수행 단계를 정립하였으며, 이 알고리즘 성능과 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 다양한 주변차량 주행환경에 따른 시나리오 시험을 수행하였다. 또한 개발된 알고리즘의 효과를 미시적 교통류 시뮬레이션 (VISSIM)을 통해 확인하였다. 개발한 알고리즘을 합류차량에 적용한 결과 안정류 상태에서 합류성능이 두드러지게 개선되는 것을 확인하였다. 이 차량 자동제어 시스템은 교통 자동차 분야 융합기술의 일환으로 개발되었으며, 운전자의 부하와 오류를 감소시켜 효율성과 안전성을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 교통류의 안정성, 임계용량, 주행 효율성의 증대로 사회비용 감소를 기대할 수 있다.

  • 전자계 신호의 시간 변동량을 추출하여 파형으로 나타내는 동작곡선 등은 그 형태가 매우 복잡하다. 이러한 신호의 관측파형에 대하여 특징을 나타내는 변곡점과 같은 신호의 특정 시간을 정확히 결정하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 특징을 검출하는데 흔히 필터를 설계하여 사용하게 된다. 특히 잡음이 신호에 중첩될 때 자연관측필터를 적용하면 변곡점 추출이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 잡음이 혼재될 경우에 변곡점의 양호한 추출을 위하여 최적의 차수의 자연관측필터 설계방법을 제안 한다.

High-Frequency GaN HEMTs Based Point-of-Load Synchronous Buck Converter with Zero-Voltage Switching

  • Gallium nitride (GaN) power switching devices are promising candidates for high switching frequency and high efficiency power conversion due to their fast switching, low on-state resistance, and high-temperature operation capability. In order to facilitate the use of these new devices better, it is required to investigate the device characteristics and performance in detail preferably by comparing with various conventional silicon (Si) devices. This paper presents a comprehensive study of GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) based non-isolated point-of-load (POL) synchronous buck converter operating at 2.7 MHz with a high step-down ratio (24 V to 3.3 V). The characteristics and performance of GaN HEMT and three different Si devices are analytically investigated and the optimal operating point for GaN HEMT is discussed. Zero-voltage switching (ZVS) is implemented to minimize switching loss in high switching frequency operation. The prototype circuit and experimental data support the validity of analytical and simulation results.

  • The fuzzy control algorithm for HVAC system has been developed for minimizing energy consumption while maintaining the comfort of indoor thermal environment in terms of the environmental variables such as time varying indoor cooling load and outdoor temperatures. The optimal set-points of control parameters with fuzzy control are supply air temperature, chilled water temperature and condenser temperature. This study has been done by using TRNSYS program in order to analyze the HVAC system response. As a result, the fuzzy control algorithm with PID algorithm shows good energy performance in comparison with conventional one.

Hooke-and-Jeeves 기법에 의한 최적가로망설계 (Optimal Network Design with Hooke-and-Jeeves Algorithm)

  • Development is given to an optimal network design method using continuous design variables. Modified Hooke-and-Jeeves algorithm is implemented in order to solve nonlinear programming problem which is approximately equivalent to the real network design problem with system efficiency crieteria and improvement cost as objective function. the method was tested for various forms of initial solution, and dimensions of initial step size of link improvements. At each searching point of evaluating the objective function, a link flow problem was solved with user equilibrium principles using the Frank-Wolfe algorithm. The results obtained are quite promising interms fo numbers of evaluation, and the speed of convergence. Suggestions are given to selections of efficient initial solution, initial step size and convergence criteria. An approximate method is also suggested for reducing computation time.

  • In this paper, the problem of controlling deterministic contimuous linear system with a slightly modified quadratic performance criteria is studied. When the number of out put variables is much lesser then that of state variables, either the controller becomes complex or the performance measure becomes much higher with only output feedback. So the design philosphy treated in this paper lies in finding a compromising point between the controller complexity and the performance measure. thd controller is composed of stasic plus dynamic compensator with order equal to the mtmber of output variables. Several unknowns are unknown parameters are bundled into one, and using Pontryagin's minimum principle, conditions and formula for optimum control are induced which are different from that of Kalman optimal regulator.

자율 주행차량의 경로추종 제어 알고리즘 (A Path Tracking Control Algorithm for Autonomous Vehicles)

  • In this paper, the control algorithm fur an autonomous vehicle is studied and applied to an actual 2 wheel-driven vehicle system. In order to control a nonholonomic system, the kinematic model for an autonomous vehicle is constructed by relative velocity relationship about the virtual point at distance from the vehicle's frame. And the optimal controller that based on the kinematic model is operated on purpose to track a reference vehicle's path. The actual system is designed with named 'HYAVI' and the system controller is applied. Because all the results of simulation don't satisfy the driving conditions of HYAVI, a reformed control algorithm that satisfies an actual autonomous vehicle is applied at HYAVI. At the results of actual experiments, the path tracking works very well by the reformed control algorithm. An autonomous vehicle that applied this control algorithm can be easily used for a path generation algorithm.

  • The present study aims to optimize the performance of the Two-Stage Gas Gun by using the experimentally obtained data. RSM(Response Surface Method) was adopted in the optimization process to find the operating parameter than can maximize the projectile speed with the minimum number of tests. To decide the test points which results can consist of the response surface, 3$^{k}$ full factorial method was used, and the design variables were chosen with piston mass and 2$^{nd}$ driver fill pressure. The response surface was composed by nine test results and consequently the optimization was done with GENOCOP III, inherently GA code, in order to seek the optimal test point. The optimal test condition from the response surface was verified by the experiment. Results showed that the optimization process with response surface can successfully predict the test results fairly well. This study shows the possibility of performance optimization for the experimental facilities using numerical optimization algorithm.
