VIBRATION AND STRESS ANALYSIS OF A UGS ASSEMBLY FOR THE APR1400 RVI CVAP

  • The most important component of a nuclear power plant is its nuclear reactor. Studies on the integrity of reactors have become an important part regarding the safety of a nuclear power plant. The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide (NRC RG) 1.20 presents a Comprehensive Vibration Assessment Program (CVAP) to be used to verify the structural integrity of the Reactor Vessel Internals (RVI) for flow-induced vibration prior to commercial operation. However, there are few published studies related to the RVI CVAP. We classified the Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) RVI CVAP as a non-prototype category-2 reactor as part of an independent validation of its design. The aim of this paper is to present the results of structural response analyses of the Upper Guide Structure (UGS) assembly of the APR1400 reactor. These results show that the UGS and the Inner Barrel Assembly (IBA) meet the specified integrity levels of the design acceptance criteria. The vibration and stress analysis results in this paper will be used as basic information to select measurement locations of the vibration and stress for the APR1400 RVI CVAP.

Sensitivity Analysis of the 217PlusTM Component Models for Reliability Prediction of Electronic Systems (전자 시스템 신뢰도 예측을 위한 217PlusTM 부품모형의 민감도 분석)

  • MIL-HDBK-217 has played a pivotal role in reliability prediction of electronic equipments for more than 30 years. Recently, RIAC developed a new methodology $217Plus^{TM}$which officially replaces MIL-HDBK-217. Sensitivity analysis of the 217Plus component models to various parameters has been performed and meaningful observations have been drawn in this study. We first briefly reviewed the $217Plus^{TM}$ methodolog and compared it with the conventional model, MIL-HDBK-217. We then performed sensitivity analysis $217Plus^{TM}$ component models to various parameters. Based on the six parameters and an orthogonal array selected, we have performed indepth analyses concerning parameter effects on the model. Our result indicates that, among various parameters, operating temperature and temperature rise during operation have the most significant impacts on the life of a component, and thus a design robust to high temperature is the most importantly required. Next, year of manufacture, duty cycle, and voltage stress are weaker but may be significant when they are in heavy load conditions. Although our study is restricted to a specific type of diodes, the results are still valid to other cases. The results in this study not only figure out the behavior of the predicted failure rate as a function of parameters but provide meaningful guidelines for practical applications.

  • A methodology to the operation standards of the service performance of airport terminal fadlities using Perception-Response Model is discussed in this paper. The proposed approach has defined as the graphical presentation of the collective attitudes of a category of passengers towards the range of operational service at a facility of airport terminal. It adopts new concepts to establish service standards through special survey, that can achieve better interpretation of capadty and level of service at each facility. It is expressed in terms of perception of the passenger population of different amounts of the service measure and their response to the respective service conditions classified into distinct levels of satisfaction with service. The methodology can provide a practical service standards of airport terminals and may prove to be a practical and convenient technique to airport planners, designers, consultants, operators, and to airport managers.

  • The treatment modalities of the intramural hematoma (IMH) remain controversial. Nowadays, the IMH of the descending thoracic aorta is generally classified in the medical treatment category. We describe a patient with IMH of the descending thoracic aorta who received the medical treatment. During the follow-up, we speculated that the IMH had been aggravated leading to an aortic rupture including hemothorax. Therefore, we performed an emergency operation. Contrary to our expectations, operative findings showed a well-organized aortic wall and serous pleural effusion. The exact diagnosis was IMH of the descending thoracic aorta with penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer (PAU). This case reminded us of the importance of accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand social enterprise business operations experience converted from a self-sufficient enterprise. In-depth interviews with representatives of the 4 recycling social enterprises from self-sufficient enterprise which located in Chungbuk province were performed to collect data and analyzed by grounded theory method. As a result, configured 88 concepts and classified into 28 sub-categories 12 categories. According to a paradigm model, Core category, conditions, strategies and consequences were derived from the grounded theory. Especially, the core concept of enterprise management experience of the participants was 'An effort to overcome the harsh business conditions by pursuing sense of community and trying to secure its own competitiveness'. Based on the result, practical and policy proposal for management of the social enterprises were suggested.

There are various types of Authoring tools in the market so that authoring tools can enable, encourage, and assist users ('authors') in the selection of tools that produce simple title and video production and editing suites. In this paper, we will compare and analyze authoring process in which image and sound are captured into DVD creation with IEEE 1394port with regard to Window system using generally with Desktop PC and the Macintosh of the PC on the system of Windows and OSX.

  • According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport press release ('18.12.21.) The amendment of the Aviation Business Act will reduce the capital requirements for aviation leisure operators and make it easier to enter aviation leisure businesses by improving regulations on small air transportation business. In addition, as the scale of the UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) sector is expected to increase globally, the dramatic increase in low altitude operating aircraft, including this, must be taken into account. The low altitude aircraft category is divided into small airplanes, helicopters, light aircrafts and ultra-light aircrafts, and instructors include school instructor pilots and student pilots, military and national helicopter pilots, and aviation leisure operators. In case of low altitude aircraft, there are cases of canceling operations due to low visibility and low clouds, and aircraft accidents due to excessive operation and sudden weather phenomenon. Therefore, in order to prevent low-altitude aircraft accidents, a safe flight plan based on weather conditions and weather forecasts and more accurate and local weather forecasts and weather forecast data are needed to prepare for the rapidly changing weather conditions.

  • International standards are established by the agreement of many nations' delegates that represent the opinions from all stakeholders such as suppliers, manufacturers, customers, beneficial groups, and governments. The international standards provide all stakeholders with a scientific basis that determines regulations regarding quality, health, environment and other necessary issues. Among many international standards, the well known ISO 9000 quality management system(QMS) has been installed in about 877,770 organizations in 161 countries up until now. This ISO 9000 QMS specifies requirements for detailed contents from supply of resources to delivery to customers for registering QMS certificate. This paper considers business values of ISO 9000 QMS by reviewing literature. We summarize issues related to installment and operation : motives, advantages, disadvantages, problems, obstacles, and lessons. We also summarize the integrated management system(IMS) issues and compare ISO 9000 with Total Quality Management(TQM). We present a comprehensive figure and tables based on the category of the main results of literature.

  • It requires more close cooperation process and mediator for smooth communication in this industry structure where design and engineers are separated. The database of design integrates separate system and helps connection between organizations. The application category is utilized variously from formation to operation. Architectures addressed in this content as Frank Gehry and Nox are making differentiated design on the base of 3d digital methodology and using it widely from generation to fabrication. Especially they got to be free from the generative limit as it became available to analyse, digital surface organization, and realize the complex system form. Now more integrated and delicate works got to be affordable owing to various kinds of improved CNC, RP(rapid-prototype) machines, and architecture hardwares. With a linkage of software now at their disposal, architects can create a digital model of a building and all of its design elements, and in turn use this 3d information to construct actual building components using machines driven by CNC and other advanced manufacturing techniques. Digital technologies are enabling a direct correlation between what design and construction, thus bringing to the forefront the issue of the significance of information, the production, communication, application, and control of digital information in the industrial system. The central requirement is the clear, reliable, and consistent exchange of information among all parties involved in creating a given project.
