Analysis of Electricity Cost Saving Effect by the Optimal load shifting Operation with 1MWh Redox Flow Battery (1MWh급 레독스흐름전지의 부하이전용 최적운전에 따른 전기요금 절감효과 분석)

  • In recent years, the energy storage systems such as LiB, NaS, RFB(Redox-Flow Battery), Super- capacitor, pumped hydro storage, flywheel, CAES(Compressed Air Energy Storage) and so on have received great attention as practical solutions for the power supply problems. They can be used for various purpose of peak shaving, load leveling and frequency regulation, according to the characteristics of each ESS(energy storage system). This paper will focus at 1 MWh RFB system, which is being developed through the original technology project of energy material. The output of ESS is mainly characterized by C-rate, which means that the total rated capacity of battery will be delivered in 1 hour. And it is a very important factor in the ESS operation scheduling. There can be several options according to the operation intervals 15, 30 and 60minutes. The operation scheduling is based on the optimization to minimize the daily electricity cost. This paper analyzes the cost-saving effects by the each operating time-interval in case that the RFB ESS is optimally scheduled for peak shaving and load leveling.

Sensitivity Analysis of Wind-Wave Growth Parameter during Typhoon Season in Summer for Developing an Integrated Global/Regional/Coastal Wave Prediction System (전지구·지역·국지연안 통합 파랑예측시스템 개발을 위한 여름철 태풍시기 풍파성장 파라미터 민감도 분석)

  • In this study, an integrated wave model from global to coastal scales was developed to improve the operational wave prediction performance of the Korean Meteorological Administration (KMA). In this system, the wave model was upgraded to the WaveWatch III version 6.07 with the improved parameterization of the source term. Considering the increased resolution of the wind input field and the introduction of the high-performance KMA 5th Supercomputer, the spatial resolution of global and regional wave models has been doubled compared to the operational model. The physical processes and coefficients of the wave model were optimized for the current KMA global atmospheric forecasting system, the Korean Integrated Model (KIM), which is being operated since April 2020. Based on the sensitivity experiment results, the wind-wave growth parameter (βmax) for the global wave model was determined to be 1.33 with the lowest root mean square errors (RMSE). The value of βmax showed the lowest error when applied to regional/coastal wave models for the period of the typhoon season when strong winds occur. Applying the new system to the case of August 2020, the RMSE for the 48-hour significant wave height prediction was reduced by 13.4 to 17.7% compared to the existing KMA operating model. The new integrated wave prediction system plans to replace the KMA operating model after long-term verification.

  • Raspberry Pi is in the UK (Paspberry Pi) Foundation created a compact / Cheap PC and was developed as part of the educational project. RCA connection jack and has been released in March 2012 was also sold out in one hour. Raspberry Pi Linux kernel based operating system called Raspberry Pi using optimized Raspbian Debian-based operating systems are often used to be free. Raspberry Pi is currently in the field of IoT with the board quite Cubie limelight and Cubie board holds more data. Arduino is quite easy to reach and access to the avr but impossible to include any custom code associated to a library and customize drawbacks must be solved only. Raspberry Pi using the Raj Caribbean and limitations of low cost, but there is a small output. So, for a combination of the two, with GPOI was reminiscent of hardware control. In this paper, using GPIO Cooking Hacks RaspberryPi board for controlling input and output by using the shield is insufficient expansion raspberry pie was confirmed that the good operation was verified.

Nitroglycerin-Challenged Tc-99m MIBI Quantitative Gated SPECT to Predict Functional Recovery After Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (니트로글리세린 투여 Tc-99m-MIBI 정량 게이트 심근SPECT를 이용한 관상동맥우회로술 후 심근 기능 회복 예측)

  • Purpose: The performance of nitroglycerin-challenged Tc-99m-MIBI quantitative gated SPECT for the detection of viable myocardium was compared with rest/24-hour redistribution Tl-201 SPECT Materials and Methods: In 22 patients with coronary artery disease, rest Tl-20l/ dipyridamole stress Tc-99m-MIBI gated/24-hour redistribution Tl-201 SPECT were peformed, and gated SPECT was repeated on-site after sublingual administration of nitroglycerin (0.6 mg). Follow-up gated SPECT was done 3 months after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. For 20 segments per patient, perfusion at rest and 24-hour redistribution, and wall motion and thickening at baseline and nitroglycerin-challenged state were quantified. Quantitative viability markers were evaluated and compared;(1) rest thallium uptake, (2) thallium uptake on 24-hour redistribution SPECT, (3) systolic wall thickening at baseline, and (4) systolic wall thickening with nitroglycerin-challenge. Results: Among 100 revascularized dysfunctional segments, wall motion improved in 66 segments (66%) on follow-up gated myocardial SPECT after bypass surgery. On receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, the sensitivity and specificity of rest and 24-hour delayed redistribution Tl-201 SPECT were 79%, 44% and 82%, 44%, respectively, at the optimal cutoff value of 50% of Tl-201 uptake. The sensitivity and specificity of systolic wall thickening at baseline and nitroglycerin-challenge were 49%, 50% and 64%, 65% at the optimal cutoff value of 15% of systolic wall thickening. Area under the ROC curve of nitroglycerin-challenged systolic wall thickening was significantly larger than that of baseline systolic wall thickening (p=0.004). Conclusion: Nitroglycerin-challenged quantitative gated Tc-99m-MIBI SPECT was a useful method for predicting functional recovery of dysfunctional myocardium.

  • At present, LG Electronics pushes ahead to eliminate the Pb(Lead) -a hazardous material- from all products. Especially, we have performed to select the optimum standard composition of lead free alloy for the application to products for about 3 years from 2000. These days, we have the chance for applying to the mass-production. This project constructed the system for applying the lead free solders on consumer electronic products, which is one of the major products of the LG Electronics. To select the lead free solders with corresponding to the product features, we have passed through the test and applied with Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu alloy system to our products, and for the application to the high melting temperature composition, we secured the thermal resistance of the many parts and substrate and optimized the processing conditions. We have operated the temperature cycling test and the high temperature storage test under the standards to confirm the reliability of the products. On these samples, we considered the consequence of our decision by the operating test. For the long life time of the product, we have operated the temperature cycling test at $-45^{\circ}C-+125^{\circ}C$, 1 cycle/hour, 1000 cycles. Also we have tested the tin whisker growth about lead free plating on lead finish. We have analyzed with the SEM, EDS and any other equipment for confirming the failure mode at the joint and the tin whisker growth on lead free finish.

Development of miniaturized dual-frequency FM transmitter (소형화된 듀얼 주파수 FM 송신기 개발)

  • In this paper, the miniaturized FM transmitter with dual-frequency is developed, and tested in the field. In this system two frequencies 88.1 MHz and 88.3 MHz is used. The transmitter is designed with 2.6 cm^3 system size, horizontal, vertical, height respectively. The operating voltage is 3.7 V and used the built-in storage battery in order to minimize. The system can use continuously during 7 hour with once charging. The channel separation ability is 40 dB. Consequently, this system is used conveniently with short distance information transmitter system at the industry field.

  • In the research, we have proposed a novel encapsulation with simple process and steady film for external environment in comparison with conventional encapsulation method. This was designed to cover the emitting organic material from air. Silicon 야oxide was used for thin film of encapsulation and the deposition thickness of the organic film was 220 nm. Operating voltage of green OLED with encapsulation was 5.5 V and luminance was 7.370 cd/$m^2$ at the applied voltage of 14.5 V. Luminance was measured in 10 hour intervals at the air-exposed condition. After 110 hours and 300 hours, luminances of green OLED were 7,368 and 7,367 cd/$m^2$, respectively. Luminance of green JLED doesn't decrease until 300 hours. As a results, proposed encapsulation can increase the life time of green OLED.

  • The recent indoor air quality problem in a newly-built apartment house is resulted from the improvement of airtightness performance and the use of the building material contained harmful chemical substances. As a result, these cause indoor air quality gradually to become worse and the harmful effect on occupant health called Sick House Syndrome. The most effective solution to improve the indoor air quality is to encourage the use of green building material. However, if the house is built with general building material, ventilation with outdoor air is alternative to dilute the pollutant concentration. The purpose of this re-search is to find optimum ventilation time in a newly-built apartment house at which the ventilatoris installed. It is found that the HCHO and toluene concentrations are remarkably decreased with the elapse of ventilation time and the concentration reduction rate is increased with increment of air change rate after one hour after operating the ventilator.

A Study on the Leakage Interception Work in the Irrigation Canal Founding on the Sandy Gravel or the Porous Soil (모래자갈과 누수성 토질을 기반으로하는 용수로의 누수방지에 대한 연구)

  • The experiment was carried out in order to improve the leakage stopping work in the irrigation canal founding on the porous soil. But the experiment had many problems to be studied more owing to the insufficient time and facilities. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Polyethylene film is estimated not to make strength decrease owing to buring in the subsoil, but to make owing to the sunlight. 2. Coated nylon shows the tendency to deteriorate strength when it is buried in the earth or exposed to the sun for long time, but leakage is all but impermeability generally. 3. Leakage loss rates for one hour show some differences in the canal to be full with water in accordance with operating methods, that is, the clay lining section is 12.6%, the coated nylon lining section is 1.7%, the polyethylene film lining section is 1.3%, respectively. 4. Leakage quantities per wetted perimeter unit area show $3.556cc/cm^2/hr$. in the clay lining section, $1.574cc/cm^2/hr$. in the coated nylon section, $0.695cc/cm^2/hr$. in the polyethylene film lining section, respectively. 5. When the construction fund make the clay lining section as a standard, the polyethylene film section is 92.1%, the coated nylon section is 174.2%, respectively. But, the unit cost of execution may be low when the polyethylene film and the coated nylon will enable to mass-produce for the purpose of execution.

Automobile Assembly Sequence System Using Production Information (생산정보를 이용한 자동차 조립 서열시스템에 관한 연구)

  • For zero inventory and mixed assembly production, JIT (Just In Time) production system in Toyota and JIS (Just-In-Sequence) production system in Hyundai motor co. have been proposed in automobile production areas. Even though the production systems are popular in the areas, many subcontract companies producing part-modules for final production at a parent company suffers from excessive or shortage amount of inventory due to the time gap of production and delivery to the parent company. In this study, we propose an efficient real-time assembly sequence system applying a well-known Pareto method using Paint-In information in painting process and daily production planning information. Based on this system, a production line can estimate the shortage amount of UPH (Units Per Hour) at production line and recovers the amount before operating assembly production in the line. The proposed system provides efficiency on productivity compared with the previous system.
