In this study, we present an approach to parallelizing OPF that is suitable for distributed implementation and is applicable to very large inter-connected power systems. The approach could be used by utilities for optimal economy interchange without disclosing details of their operating costs to competitors. It could also be used to solve several other computational tasks, such as state estimation and power flow, in a distributed manner. The proposed algorithm was demonstrated with several case study systems.

The environment of the access network service market is characterized by uncertain demand and various competing alternative technologies. In Korea, despite the introduction of competition, dominant Public Network Operator(PNO) still leads the market. Therefore, the decision of PNO has a great impact on the access network evolution. In this paper, we propose an model which aims to reduce risks and both investment and operating costs, to cope with the uncertain demand and technology evolution. We expect this model to provide a tool analyze risks and evaluate various strategies on the network evolution.

A preliminary conceptual design of the DUPIC fuel fabrication plant with production capacity of 400 MTHE/yr is presented. Capital and operating costs are also included. The levelized unit fabrication cost (LUC) for a reference mode was estimated at $509/kgHE, and sensitivity of some variable parameters to this reference was analysed.

The importance of training for NC, CNC and Machining Center has been greatly increased. This paper presents implementation of a DNC system and operating software for educational purpose. This system is able to connect 8-32 CNCs to Control PC with RS232 multi-port serial card. Therefore, it allows much efficiency in training even after costs are considered. The KISCO DNC S/W for above system includes various communication function, communication parameter setting, program editor, tool management and user-friendly environment.

근 스마트폰 보급률이 높아짐에 따라 스마트폰을 활용한 다양한 어플리케이션들이 있다. 이러한 스마트폰 어플리케이션을 클라우드 컴퓨팅 활용하여 구현할 경우, 클라우드에서 서버를 임대하여 사용한 만큼 비용을 지불할 수 있다. 따라서 서버 과부화에 대한 서비스 가용성을 보장할 수 있으며 네트워크 및 자원 사용량을 모니터링할 수 있다. 또한, 사용한 만큼 지불하는 방식이기 때문에 운영비용에 대한 부담이 줄어들 수 있다.

To make use of various switches, relays, and control instruments, a connector (jack) is used to link the battery (power) and operating units. A connector must have precision as well as solidity to control the power in a car. To improve productivity, we researched and developed a connector molding by adapting vacuum system and we've made it possible to minimize the incomplete molding and weld-line. As a result, good quality can be warranted with less costs.

We adopt the P/sub λ, T//sup M/ policy of dam to introduce a service policy with alternating service rates for a Poisson arrival queue, in which the service rate alternates depending on the number of customers in the system. The stationary distribution of the number of customers in the system is derived and, after operating costs being assigned to the system, the optimization of the policy is studied.

This paper deals with two forms of preventive replacement policy with minimal repair at failure. Those are, 1. the replacement policy I based on the cumulative operating time. 2. the replacement policy II based on the number of failures. The basic assumptions are; (1) the cost of minimal repair at failure is increasing with the number of failures since the last replacement, (2) the equipment fails stochastically with time.

This paper introduces the methodology for restrict adjustment of 25 mail sorting centers including 3 new mail sorting centers to balance their work loads and minimize their operating costs. We calculated the capacity of mail sorting centers considering mail types and analyzed the collection/delivery mail volume of 214 post offices to measure the work loads of mail sorting centers. We also developed the mathematical model and genetic algorithm to find the optimal solution for this problem.
