Multi-zone 모델링을 통한 온도성층화와 농도성층화가 존재하는 DME HCCI 엔진의 운전영역에 관한 수치해석연구 (Comparison of DME HCCI Operating Ranges for the Thermal Stratification and Fuel Stratification based on a Multi-zone Modeling)

  • This work investigates the potential of in-cylinder thermal stratification and fuel stratification for extending the operating ranges in HCCI engines, and the coupling between thermal stratification and fuel stratification. Computational results areemployed. The computations were conducted using both a custom multi-zone version and the standard single-zone version of the Senkin application of the CHEMKINII kinetics rate code, and kinetic mechanism for di-methyl ether (DME). This study shows that the potential of thermal stratification and fuels stratification for extending the high-load operating limit by a staged combustion event with reduced pressure-rise rates is very large. It was also found that those stratification offers good potential to extend low-load limit by a same mechanism in high-load. However, a combination of thermal stratification and fuel stratification is not more effective than above stratification techniques for extending the operating ranges showing similar results of fuel stratification. Sufficient condition for combustion (enough temperature for) turns misfire in low-load limit to operate engines, which also leads to knock in high-load limit abruptly due to the too high temperature with high. DME shows a potential for maximizing effect of stratification to lower pressure-rise rate due to the characteristics of low-temperature heat release.

  • Micro gas turbines are designed with low turbine inlet temperature and pressure ratio. To overcome the efficiency defect of the simple cycle, adoption of the recuperator is an inevitable choice. In addition to the design performance, we should also pay attention to the off-design performance of gas turbines since they usually operate at part-load conditions lot a considerable amount of their lifetime. This study analyzes off-design performance characteristics of micro gas turbines and addresses the importance of the recuperation process doting the part load operation. Comparative analyses have been performed to evaluate the part load performance differences among various design and operating options : simple vs recuperative cycles, single vs two shaft configurations, various operating strategies for the single shaft configuration, and current vs advanced engines. Major finding is that maintaining high turbine exhaust temperature is crucial for efficient operation of micro gas turbines.

  • This study analyzed the influence of firing biogas on the performance and operation of a gas turbine combined heat and power (CHP) system. A reference CHP system designed with natural gas fuel was set up and off-design simulation was made to investigate the impact of firing biogas in the system. Changes in critical operating parameters such as compressor surge margin and turbine blade temperature caused by firing biogas were examined, and a couple of operating schemes to mitigate their changes were simulated. Part load operation of the biogas-fired system was compared with that of natural-gas fired system, and it was found that as long as the two system produce the same electric power output, they exhibit nearly the same heat recovery.

  • The decrease of summer peak electric load of our country is very important. The government is arranging a lot of support policies and statutes. etc. to decrease of peak electric load. And ice storage system is known as one of the alternatives. The purpose of this study is to collect basic data for operating characteristics to plan the most suitable operation of capsule-type ice storage system. The storaging tank is designed to take charge 40% of total cooling load in building, In operation condition the storage tank took charge 50%. Coefficient Of Performance of daily screw refrigerator is around 4.

  • The KEPCO is developing the practical power distribution operating system. The system adopt Genetic Algorithm and will be used loss reduction, load balancing, service planning for large capacity load and various kinds of simulations in the distribution power system.   • An experimental study was carried out to improve the cooling capacity and performance of the pulse tube refrigerator. Three buffer pulse tube refrigerator was designed and fabricated, and the experimental apparatus operating process of the therr buffer pulse tube refrigerator and results obtained with the performance test. The cooldown characteristics and load characteristics are described. The lowest temperature measured in the three buffer pulse tube refrigerator was 88K and the cooling capacity at the optimum operating condition was 27 W at 120K.

  • A kineamatic nonlinear multivariable laundher is modeled of which the azimoth and elevation axes are drived simultaneously and SISO and MIMO LQG/LTR controllers are designed and evaluated for this system. Also, the suitable command input function is suggested for the desired command following performance and the LQG/LTR control system with disturbances and load variation is evaluated for the entire operating range by computer simulation. It is found that the linear SISO LQG/LTR controller can be used for the kinematic nonlinear multivariable launder in the entire operating range and is effective for disturbance rejection and load variation.

  • This paper presents dynamic modeling and simulation of induction motors. Equivalent circuit parameters measured by do test, no-load test and locked-rotor test were used as the input data for computer simulation. Operating characteristics of an induction motor were predicted by Matlab/simulink when changing load torque, opening and reclosing of phase a of the stator and three-phase fault at machine terminals.

  • We acquired operating data in an existing steam turbine power plant using analog control system to investigate operation characteristics. We analyzed a load control logic to develop a digital turbine control system. The load control logic is constituted of load target, load reference, loading rate, load limit and admission mode transfer of valve. The result of this paper is utilized to implement a digital turbine control system.

  • In this study, an automatic system for improving the working environment and increasing production efficiency of a laver aquaculture industry in Korea was developed by combining a hydraulic control system and a load cell in a current landing work of the laver. The improved gathering laver system allowed the automatic gathering process of the laver in the sea with the hydraulic control system connected to a cutting machine of the laver on the operating ship, which has been used for gathering the laver semi-automatically in a form of the traditional farming method. The transporting process of the laver from an operating ship to the land was improved as follows. A frame installed on the operating ship and the bag nets were designed and made to hold about 1,000 kg of the laver inside. The bag nets contain the laver on the improved operating ship were tied in knots and hooked on a crane using a load cell. The weight is measured immediately by lifting the bag nets through the load cell system. Weight information is communicated to the fishermen and successful bidders through the application. The advantages of the improved system can help fishermen to fish by improving their working environment and increasing production efficiency. The field survey to improve the landing operation of the laver aquaculture was conducted in Gangjin, Goheung, Shinan, Wando, Jindo, and Haenam in South Jeonnam Province. A total of 10 sites including Gunsan in Jeonbuk Province, Daebu Island in Ansan City, Jebu Island in Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province, and Seocheon in Chungnam Province were searched to collect data. Prototypes of the system were tested at the auction house of laver located in Goheung, where laver collection using hydraulic control and landing using road cell could be improved.
