A study on the dynamic instabilities of a smart embedded micro-shell induced by a pulsating flow: A nonlocal piezoelastic approach

  • In this study, nonlinear vibrations and dynamic instabilities of a smart embedded micro shell conveying varied fluid flow and subjected to the combined electro-thermo-mechanical loadings are investigated. With the aim of designing new hydraulic sensors and actuators, the piezoelectric materials are employed for the body and the effects of applying electric field on the stability of the system as well as the induced voltage due to the dynamic behavior of the system are studied. The nonlocal piezoelasticity theory and the nonlinear cylindrical shell model in conjunction with the energy approach are utilized to mathematically modeling of the structure. The fluid flow is assumed to be isentropic, incompressible and fully develop, and for more generality of the problem both steady and time dependent flow regimes are considered. The mathematical modeling of fluid flow is also carried out based on a scalar potential function, time mean Navier-Stokes equations and the theory of slip boundary condition. Employing the modified Lagrange equations for open systems, the nonlinear coupled governing equations of motion are achieved and solved via the state space problem; forth order numerical integration and Bolotin's method. In the numerical results, a comprehensive discussion is made on the dynamical instabilities of the system (such as divergence, flutter and parametric resonance). We found that applying positive electric potential field will improve the stability of the system as an actuator or vibration amplitude controller in the micro electro mechanical systems.

우리나라 남해안지역 신석기시대 패총 출토 패류 (Molluscan Remains from the Neolithic Shell Middens in the Southern Coast, Korea)

  • Molluscs from the Neolithic shell middens (Sugari, Pudjeong, Tongsamdong, Sangnodaedo, Sandeung, Yondaedo, Songdo and Kupyongri) in the southern coast, Korea, consisted of marine, fresh-water and land molluscs. Among these, intertidal species were exploited most abundantly as food resources, indicating a high dependence of intertidal shellfish collection activities. Especially oysters were the most abundant in these sites except Tongsamdong where mussels were predominant, indicating oysters were the most important food resources. Land snails from the sites consisted of woodland and open land species. Woodland species were more abundant than openland species, suggesting that there was a woodland environmint around the sites. Marine and land mollusc species from the sites are common in these rigions today, indicating no large-scale emvironmental changes have occurred since these middens formation period.

  • In the context of classic conical shell formulation, nonlinear forced vibration analysis of truncated conical shells and annular plates made of multi-scale epoxy/CNT/fiberglass composites has been presented. The composite material is reinforced by carbon nanotube (CNT) and also fiberglass for which the material properties are defined according to a 3D Mori-Tanaka micromechanical scheme. By utilizing the Jacobi elliptic functions, the frequency-deflection curves of truncated conical shells and annular plates related to their forced vibrations have been derived. The main focus is to study the influences of CNT amount, fiberglass volume, open angle, fiber angle, truncated distance and force magnitude on forced vibrational behaviors of multi-scale truncated conical shells and annular plates.

  • A general structural model, which is an extension of the Vlassov theory, is developed for the analysis of composite rotor blades with elastic couplings. A comprehensive analysis applicable to both thick-and thin-walled composite beams, which can have either open- or closed profile is formulated. The theory accounts for the effects of elastic couplings, shell wall thickness, and transverse shear deformations. A semi-complementary energy functional is used to account for the shear stress distribution in the shell wall. The bending and torsion related warpings and the shear correction factors are obtained in closed form as part of the analysis. The resulting first order shear deformation theory describes the beam kinematics in terms of the axial, flap and lag bending, flap and lag shear, torsion and torsion-warping deformations. The theory is validated against experimental results for various cross-section beams with elastic couplings.

Post-buckling analysis of geometrically imperfect nanoparticle reinforced annular sector plates under radial compression

  • Buckling and post-buckling behaviors of geometrically imperfect annular sector plates made from nanoparticle reinforced composites have been investigated. Two types of nanoparticles are considered including graphene oxide powders (GOPs) and silicone oxide (SiO2). Nanoparticles are considered to have uniform and functionally graded distributions within the matrix and the material properties are derived using Halpin-Tsai procedure. Annular sector plate is formulated based upon thin shell theory considering geometric nonlinearity and imperfectness. After solving the governing equations via Galerkin's technique, it is showed that the post-buckling curves of annular sector plates rely on the geometric imperfection, nanoparticle type, amount of nanoparticles, sector inner/outer radius and sector open angle.

  • The finite element program is presented for the analysis of the moment distribution in continuous slabs of simply supported girders. The program includes the material nonlinearity of the continuous and steel reinforcements of the RC slabs, but assumes that the PC beam and cross beam behave linearly. In modeling the PC slabs and girders, the four node degenerated shell element formulated based on the assumed strain interpolation and the 3D beam element are used, respectively. Using the program, the influence of the existence of the cross bean, the filling of open joints on the continuous at supports, and perfect continuation of precast girder elements are examined.

Dynamic Response Analysis of Open Section Structures with Warping Restraint Conditions and Impact Load Durations

  • The response analysis of frame structure with open section beams considering warping conditions and short duration load have been performed. When a beam of frame structure is subjected under torsional moment, the cross section will deform a warping as well as twist. For some thin-walled sections warping will be large, and accompanying warping restraint will induce axial and shear stresses and reduce the twist of beam which stiffens the beam in torsion. Because of impact or blast loads, the wave propagation effects become increasingly important as load duration decreases. This paper presents that a warping restraint in finite element model effects the behavior of beam deformation, dynamic mode shape and response analysis. The computer modelling of frame is discussed in linear beam element model and linear thin shell element model, also presents a correlation between computer predicted and actual experimental results for static deflection, natural frequencies and mode shapes of frame. A method to estimate the number of normal modes that are important is discussed.

  • 최근 IT 제품의 활용의 증가와 함께 소프트웨어는 컴퓨터를 넘어 적용 범위가 더욱 넓어지고 그에 따른 수요 또한 급격히 성장하고 있다. 또한 상용 소프트웨어와 더불어 오픈소스 소프트웨어(Open Source Software)의 수요도 함께 급성장하고 있다. 하지만 오픈소스 소프트웨어는 보안에 대한 전문지식이 없는 개발자에 의해 개발이 이루어진다. 이에 하트블리드(HeartBleed), 쉘쇼크(ShellShock)와 같은 다양한 보안취약점(Security Vulnerabilities)이 발생하고 있으며 공격으로 이어지는 사례도 늘고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다른 소프트웨어 점검 도구들과 연계하여 발견된 보안취약점이 익스플로잇터블(Exploitable)한 지 검증하는 엔진을 제안한다.

  • 에탄의 회전 장벽에 미치는 두개의 탄소 원자의 영향을 알아보기 위해 6개의 수소만으로 이루어진 탄소가 없는 에탄올 모델로 택하여 이 모델 분자의 Staggered 및 eclipsed꼴의 에너지를 McWeeny의 open-shell RHF-SCF방법으로 계산하고,staggred에서 eclipsed로 꼴이 변할때의 천이밀도를 조사 하였다. 예상대로 모델 분자에서는 ecliped꼴이 staggered꼴보다 안정하였다. 이 탄소없는 에탄의 천이 밀도와 실제 에탄의 천이 밀도를 비교 분석하여, 에탄의 회전 장벽은 중심축 위치에 있는 두개의 탄소 원자로 인해 staggered에서 eclipsed꼴로 변함에 따라 수소 원자 주위의 전자 밀도가 희석되고, 탄소 원자 주위와 탄소-탄소 결합 공간으로 끌리므로 해서, 전자 에너지 감소가 핵간 반발 에너지의 증가를 상쇄하지 못하는데 기인한다는 것을 알게 되었다.

  • 리눅스 시스템에서 악의적인 목적을 가진 사용자는 쉘을 수행하는 공격 유형들을 통해 관리자 권한을 획득하여 백도어 설치 및 사용자들의 중요한 정보 등을 유출 시킬 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 기존 방법은 권한상승원인을 분석하여 문제점을 수정한 후에 패치하는 방식을 사용하였다. 최근에는 사용자 자격증명을 이용하여 실시간으로 사용자 자격증명과 태스크 실행시 발생시키는 특징을 통해 정보의 불일치가 발생하는 태스크를 탐지하는 방법이 연구되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 자격증명 방법은 단순히 uid, gid를 이용하기 때문에 자격증명의 동일한 값을 가지는 공격유형은 탐지를 못하는 경우가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 자격증명을 이용한 탐지 방법에서 탐지를 못하는 경우를 해결하기 위해 비정상적인 권한획득 정보보다 적은 정상적인 권한 획득 정보(자격증명) 및 권한을 획득할 수 있는 shell 명령어와 path등을 Table에 저장하여 관리하고 파일(open, close, read, write)접근마다 실시간으로 Table에 있는 정상적인 권한 정보와 비교하여 탐지하는 보안 모듈을 제안한다.
