  • Purpose : This study was investigated the effect of lower extremity muscle activity during open kinetic chain exercise (OKC) and closed kinetic exercise (CKC) in normal young adults. Methods : The participants were consisted of forty-one. All subjects were randomly assigned to two groups of open kinetic chain exercise group (n=21) and closed kinetic chain exercise group(n=20). It was perform 3 sets, 3 times per week for 6 weeks both open kinetic chain exercise group and closed kinetic chain exercise group. Subjects were assessed for each subject took pre-test, post-test in 2 weeks, post-test in 4 weeks, post-test in 6 weeks measurement the surface EMG data for vastus medialis and lateralis, lateral and medial hamstring, lateral and medial gastrocnemius, tibialis anterior. Results : The vastus medialis and lateralis muscle activity was significantly increased within the intervention period both group(p<.05). The lateral and medial part of hamstring muscle activity was significantly increased with in the intervention period(p<.05). The tibialis anterior muscle activity of open kinetic chain exercise group and closed kinetic chain exercise group was significantly increased in the intervention period(p<.05). The lateral and medial part of gastrocnemius muscle activity of open kinetic chain exercise group and closed kinetic chain exercise group was significantly increased with in the intervention period(p<.05). Conclusion : It was found that both open kinetic chain exercise and closed kinetic chain exercise was significantly increased muscle activity. Further studies are needed to analyzed long term effects and subjects resulting from these changed. these exercises can be selectively adapted not only as treatment exercise for patients but also as preventive exercise for normal person to improve balancing ability by conducting proper amount of exercise for each individual's condition and stage.

  • This study was designed to identify the expected effects and implications of STEAM education using open source-based knitwear to be designed as an open source task in the future by analyzing the current status, trends and case studies of domestic and foreign STEAM education using open source widely used in various fields. As a research method, the theoretical examination was conducted based on the literature research, and the current status and trend of STEAM education using open source at home and abroad were investigated and analyzed. As a result, the social interest in STEAM education using open source was confirmed to be increasing, and the education was designed for the purpose of generating interest, self directed learning ability, and creative thinking development, and the positive effects of the education were visible. Based on these implications, the expected effects of using an open source made knitter are presented and the design direction and significance of the STEAM training to be designed in the future are reviewed.

  • Low-cost and low-power are important requirements in mobile systems. Thus, when a floating-point arithmetic unit is needed, 24-bit floating-point format can be more useful than 32-bit floating-point format. However, a 24-bit floating-point arithmetic unit can be risky because it usually has lower accuracy than a 32-bit floating-point arithmetic unit. Consecutive floating-point operations are performed in 3D graphic processors. In this case, the verification of the floating-point operation accuracy is important. Among 3D graphic arithmetic operations, the floating-point division is one of the most difficult operations to satisfy the accuracy of $10^{-5}$ which is the required accuracy in OpenGL ES 3.0. No 24-bit floating-point divider, whose accuracy is algebraically verified, has been reported. In this paper, a 24-bit floating-point divider is analyzed and it is algebraically verified that its accuracy satisfies the OpenGL requirement.

  • This paper proposes an open-phase fault control system using 3-phase neutral voltage. The proposed control system is designed as a new topology which uses the potential difference between neutral point and ground(G) of three phase. And the open-phase detection system is configured to Y-wiring of three capacitance devices of the same capacity to each line of three phase power source R-S-T. This paper also designs a mobile phone application for remote alarm of open-phase fault.

  • A 52-year-old man experienced blunt trauma upon falling from a height of 40 m while trying to repair the elevator. The patient's systolic blood pressure and hemoglobin levels were 60 mmHg and 7.0 g/dL, respectively, upon admission. A large volume of bloody discharge was observed in the open wound of the perianal area and sacrum. A computed tomography scan revealed an open comminuted sacral fracture with multiple contrast blushes. He underwent emergency laparotomy. Both internal iliac artery ligations were performed to control bleeding from the pelvis. Protective sigmoid loop colostomy was performed because of massive injury to the anal sphincters and pelvis. Pad packing was performed for a sacral open wound and perineal wound at the prone position. After resuscitation of massive transfusion, he underwent the second operation 2 days after the first operation. The pad was removed and the perineal and sacral open wounds were closed. After the damage-control surgery, he recovered safely. In this case, the hemodynamically unstable, open comminuted sacral fracture was treated safely by internal iliac artery ligation with pad packing.

  • To satisfy the high voltage direct current (HVDC) grid connection demand for wind power generation system, a novel topology and control strategy of HVDC grid connection for open-winding permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind power generation system is proposed, in which two generator-side converter and two isolated DC/DC converters are used to transmit the wind energy captured by open winding PMSG to HVDC grid. By deducing the mathematic model of open winding PMSG, the vector control technique, position sensorless operation, and space vector modulation strategy is applied to implement the stable generation operation of PMSG. Finally, the simulation model based on MATLAB is built to validate the availability of the proposed control strategy.

  • IFC based open BIM has internationally developed as a solution for interoperability problem among different software applications. Despite much interest and effort, the open BIM technologies are rarely introduced to the construction industry and need more technical development for a practical application as well. This research aims to develop automated code checking modules for quality assurance process of BIM data. The research have analyzed domestic regulations focusing on super-tall buildings and developed open BIM-based code checking modules for the evacuation regulations. The modules are able to validate evacuation regulations such as installation of emergency elevator and fire safety zone. The authors expect to improve the process of BIM quality assurance and enhance the quality of BIM data by this research on automated checking system.

  • Latissimus dorsi tendon transfer is a well-established method for treatment of irreparable posterosuperior rotator cuff tears. We report on an anterolateral mini-open technique with a porcine dermal patch augmentation for latissimus dorsi tendon transfer. Use of this technique would result in avoidance of deltoid damage by anterolateral mini-open approach and reduction of failure rate by patch augmentation.

  • Blue Straggler Stars (BSSs), kind of unusual main sequence stars, are the brighter and bluer stars than the main sequence turn off (MSTS) stars in coeval clusters. Since the first detection in globular clusters (GCs), BSSs have been shown to reveal an anti-correlation between the luminosity of their host star cluster and the number of BSSs in the cluster. Further, conclusions based on this result can be expanded to the open clusters. BSSs seem to play an important role in GCs according to the relation between the dynamical time scale of GCs and the number of BSSs along the cluster radius. This relation, however, remains to be verified in open clusters, In this study, we divide open clusters by the existence of BSSs into two groups. Then we compare parameters between these groups to specify the role of BSSs in open clusters.
