Power Electronics Open-Source Educational Platform

  • Learning Power Electronics is essential in both electrical and electronic engineering fields and the introductory courses are similar in many universities. Taking this premise into account, an educational computer-aided platform for power electronics will be presented in this paper. This educational platform includes an e-book, a set of power electronics animations, Java simulations, as well as several hands-on training sessions. The main advantages of this platform are twofold. First, all necessary teaching tools are combined on a single platform. And secondly, access to this platform is available free of charge and with no complicated registration requirements. In addition to traditional teaching techniques, the use of this platform has demonstrated an increase in student participation and has consistently improved their academic performance. Data consist of surveys, which guarantee both reliability and validity through psychometric techniques.

루브릭을 활용한 자유탐구 지도가 초등학생의 자유탐구에 미치는 영향 및 인식 조사 (The Effect and Cognition of Open-Inquiry Lesson using Lubric on the Elementary Student's Open-Inquiry)

  • The purpose of this research is to find the effect of the lesson using open-inquiry report Lubric on open-inquiry standard and science process skill; to find the change of cognition on open-inquiry for elementary school 5th grade students. Two classes (elementary school 5th grade) were selected which located in a small and medium-sized city for this research and they were separated as an experimental group and a comparative group. Open-inquiry lesson was done by referring teaching method which introduced through the curriculum. The procedure was understanding about open-inquiry, making open-inquiry subject, planning, and performing inquiry, mid-term, performing inquiry, making a report, presentation, and evaluation. Open-inquiry report Lubric which developed by Sook-Kyung Kim et al. (2010) was provided to the experimental group. Comparative group was instructed by using open-inquiry report which introduced to the elementary school 5th grade science text book. Interview paper was developed in order to check out the effect of the research by using a test paper of science process skill. The following could be found out through the research. After open-inquiry lesson, 10 open-inquiry reports(5 reports from experimental group, 5 reports from comparative group) have been drawn at random as samples from the total 62 sets (30 reports from experimental group, 32 reports from comparative group) and evaluated by a researcher and two elementary school teachers who have master degree. The reliability of the 3 scorers was 0.923 of mean correlation coefficient. And then the researcher evaluated all open-inquiry reports. The average score of open-inquiry report was 66.78 for experimental group, 54.27 for comparative group, respectively. And there was a significant difference at p<0.05 level as a result of the t-test. The experimental group rated high at p<0.05 level according to the analysis of post-science process skill test. According to the result of survey, both experimental group and comparative group had understood open-inquiry activity. It was especially rated high for experimental group on understanding scientific inquiry process, interest and satisfaction in open-inquiry and re-participation rate. By interviewing experimental group, it is recognized that the students utilized Lubric very well through the overall process. Finally, self-evaluation was done during open-inquiry activity and it was reported that the students gained more knowledge about science and changed to positive about science. As a result, the lesson using open-inquiry report Lubric was effective for students to improve writing skill of an open-inquiry report and science process skill and finally changed the cognition to positive about open-inquiry lesson.

목차 정보와 kNN 분류기를 이용한 사회과학 분야 도서 자동 분류에 관한 연구 (A Study on Book Categorization in Social Sciences Using kNN Classifiers and Table of Contents Text)

  • 이 연구에서는 한 대학도서관의 신착 도서 리스트 중 사회 과학 분야 6,253권에 대해 목차 정보를 이용하여 자동 분류를 적용하였다. 분류기는 kNN 알고리즘을 사용하였으며 자동 분류의 범주로 도서관에서 도서에 부여한 DDC 300대 강목을 사용하였다. 분류 자질은 도서의 서명과 목차를 사용하였으며, 목차는 인터넷 서점으로부터 Open API를 통해 획득하였다. 자동 분류 실험 결과, 목차 자질은 분류 재현율과 분류 정확률 모두를 향상시키는 좋은 자질임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 목차는 풍부한 자질로 불균형인 데이터의 과적합 문제를 완화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 법학과 교육학은 사회 과학 분야에서 특정성이 높아 서명 자질만으로도 좋은 분류 성능을 가져오는 점도 파악할 수 있었다.

대학도서관 웹사이트 분석을 통한 도서관 2.0 기반 서비스 운영실태 분석 (A Study on the State of the Service-based Library 2.0 Through Web Site Analysis of Korean University Libraries)

  • 본 연구는 국내 179개 4년제 대학 전체를 대상으로 도서관 웹사이트 분석을 통하여 도서관 2.0 기반 서비스의 운영 현황과 실태를 비교분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학도서관에서 도서관 2.0 기반 서비스로 가장 많이 제공하는 서비스의 형태는 (1) 이용자 서평, (2) RSS, (3) 태그, 태그 크라우드, (4) 모바일 앱, (5) Facet 기능, (6) Open API의 순이다. 둘째, 도서관 2.0 기반 서비스를 가장 많이 제공하는 도서관은 서울대학교 중앙도서관, 전주대학교 중앙도서관, 한국기술교육대학교 다산정보관의 순이며, 5개 이상 9개 이하로 제공하는 기관이 31개 기관, 4개 이하로 제공하는 기관이 145개 기관으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학도서관의 도서관 2.0 기반 서비스는 9개 항목(이용자 서평, RSS, 모바일 앱, Facet 기능, 블로그, 트위터, 개인화서비스, 소장위치 문자전송, 페이스 북)에서 국공립대학교가 사립대학교보다 운영비율이 높았고, 나머지 6개 항목에서는 사립대학교가 국공립대학교보다 운영 비율이 높았다.

한의학 표준용어집 서비스와 향후 발전 방향 (A Service of Korean Medical Standard Terminology and Directions for Future Development)

  • 한의학 분야에서는 오랜 기간 동안 한의학 용어가 혼재되어 사용되어 왔다. 대한한의학회에서는 우리나라에서 사용되고 있는 한의학 용어를 체계적으로 정리하고 표준화하여 표준한의학용어집을 발간하였다. 본 연구에서는 표준한의학용어집의 콘텐츠를 바탕으로 표준한의학용어집 온라인 서비스를 구축하였다. 표준한의학용어집 온라인 서비스는 표준 한의학 용어와 해설을 찾아보고 용어의 해설에 대한 의견을 모아서 반영할 수 있는 시스템이다. 표준용어와 시맨틱 검색 결과와 네이버 지식백과 검색 결과를 한 화면에서 볼 수 있어 한의학 표준용어를 다양하게 비교하고 참조할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 로그를 분석하여 검색기능 개선, 홍보 활용, Open API 제공 등 향후 발전 방향을 제시하였다. 로그를 통해 일관된 방문자와 수요가 존재함을 알 수 있었으며, 올해 6월을 기점으로 검색 건수가 점점 상승하고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 향후 표준화된 한의학 용어는 국내 학술연구, 한의 임상은 물론 한의학 국제 표준화에도 중요한 근거가 될 것으로 기대된다.

"Here, This Speck and This Speck That You Missed": A Poetics of the Archive in Myung Mi Kim's Commons

  • This paper explores Myung Mi Kim's poetics of the archive in Commons. Commons begins with a gesture that critiques a prior act of archivization: "Here, this speck and this speck that you missed." As the poems accrue in the book, Commons demonstrates the desire to record those experiences that have been neglected by the architects of traditional archives while at the same time interrogating the very logic of the archive. Crucial to that interrogation is the poetic form. Kim's attempt to archive silences and gaps leads to a radical experiment with form and language. It reformulates the archive as an open system amenable to interruption, extension, and revision. I examine in detail the techniques that contribute to her poetics of the archive, a poetics that draws the readers out of the narrow confines of their personal experiences and their political identities. By juxtaposing Kim's poems with her statements of poetics given as interviews, this paper connects the project of Commons to Kim's larger concern with open form and experimental writing. I argue that the "difficulty" of her poetry should be reinterpreted as a demand that her text makes on the readers to broaden their terms of engagement. The linguistic experiment of Commons provides an occasion to rethink the habitual ways in which time is experienced, national histories are written, and literary works are consumed.

현대 건축의 언캐니와 탈역사 논의 - 앤서니 비들러의 『The Architectural Uncanny』 (1992)를 중심으로 - (Discourse on the Uncanny and Posthistoire in Modern Architecture - on the basis of Anthony Vidler's The Architectural Uncanny (1992) -)

  • This research aims at a critical discourse on the relation between the concepts of the uncanny and posthistoire, on the basis of descriptions in The Architectural Uncanny (1992) by Anthony Vidler. For the purpose, Histories of the Immediate Present (2008), another book by Vidler that discusses posthistoire philosophy to which he is not positive, is also investigated along with the former thesis; and various publications related to the themes by the influential writers such as Freud, Lyotard, Vattimo, and Habermas are referred to, too. Firstly, this paper will illustrate an essential understanding of the uncanny, an outgrowth of the sublime, and the history of posthistoire respectively; and then analyse contexts where the posthistoire was mentioned in The Architectural Uncanny. In the 'Introduction' and 'Losing Face' chapters of the book, this paper argues, the two concepts are connected by the notions of 'repetition' and 'losing the classical facade' as well as the uncanny as 'a metaphor for a fundamentally unlivable modern condition'. Though Vidler's recognition of posthistoire in the two chapters are differently interpreted, each as 'the emptiness of capitalism' and 'the decomposition of representation', both can be understood in terms of 'modernity' that is 'still open'. If modernity is 'an unfinished project' as maintained by Habermas, who Vidler relies on, we need to continue innovative experiments and internal investigations in architectural creation beyond the categories of modernism and postmodernism.

서양인의 조선여행 기록문을 통한 근대 식생활사(食生活史) 연구 (Study on Modern Food Culture History through Records from Foreigners' Chosun Dynasty Travel in the Enlightenment Period)

  • The study presented attempts to analyze and categorize Chosun's food ingredients and culture through a Western perspective based on 32 representative Western documents pertaining to old Korea. Before modernization, Westerners visited Chosun during their visits to old China or Japan. Westerners were most active in Chosun from the open port period to the annexation of Korea to Japan occupation. They were teachers, missionaries, diplomats, and doctors visiting Chosun with personal goals. In 31 book traveler's journal, it records Chosen's mainly produced ingredients, such as grains, spices, fruits, cabbage, chicken, and chestnuts; foods from Chosen include kimchi, soup, and tofu. Foreigners especially liked foods made of eggs and chicken, but they did not enjoy Chosun's lack of sugar and dairy. Thirty-one book foreigners' records describe Chosun's Ondol, kitchen, crock, fermented foods, low dining tables, and chopsticks. Chosun people liked dog meat, unrestrained drinking culture, sungnyung, and tea culture. Foreign documentation on Chosun's food culture allows modern scholars to learn about Chosun people's lifestyles, as if their lives were a vivid picture.

전근대시기 한국의 책판목록(冊板目錄)과 도서목록을 통한 산학서 (算學書)의 간행과 유전(流傳) 고찰 1 -조선전기 산학취재(算學取才) 교과서의 간행을 중심으로- (A Study on the Publishing and Transmission of Mathematics Books Using Traditional Korean Book List and the Catalogues of Woodblocks 1 -Focusing on mathematics textbooks of national mathematical examinations 算學取才 in the first half of Joseon Dynasty-)

  • We considered the context of the publications and transmissions of mathematics books using the Korean traditional book lists and the catalogues of woodblocks in the Joseon Dynasty and DaeHan大韓 Empire period. Among the results, this paper first describes the context of the publication and transmission of mathematics textbooks of national math exams算學取才 in the first half of Joseon, adding a step more specific to the facts known so far. In 1430, 『YangHui SanFa楊輝算法』, 『XiangMing SuanFa詳明算法』, 『SuanXue QiMeng算學啓蒙』, 『DiSuan地算』, 『WuCao SuanJing五曹算經』 were selected as the textbooks of national math exams算學取才. 『YangHui SanFa』, 『XiangMing SuanFa』, 『DiSuan』 were included in the catalogues of woodblocks in the Joseon Dynasty before the Japanese invasion in 1592, and we could see that Gyeongju慶州, Chuncheon春川, and Wonju原州 were the printing centers of these books. Through other lists, literature records and real text books, it came out into the open that 『XiangMing SuanFa』 was published as movable print books three times at least, 『SuanXue QiMeng』 four times at least in the first half of Joseon Dynasty. And 『XiangMing SuanFa』 was published at about 100 years later than 『YangHui SanFa楊輝算法』 as xylographic books, 『SuanXue QiMeng』 was published twice as xylographic books in the second half of Joseon Dynasty. Whether or not the list of royal books included the Korean or Chinese versions of these books, and additional notation in that shows how the royal estimation of these books changed.

과거사 극복을 위한 독일도서관의 도서반환 활동에 관한 연구 - 유대인 장서를 중심으로 - (A Study on Restitution Activities of Germany's Libraries to Overcome the Past: Jewish Book Collection)

  • 독일은 제 2차 세계대전 후 연합국 주도로 독일이 점령한 국가에서 약탈한 도서를 상당 부분 반환하였다. 하지만 유대인들로부터 약탈한 도서의 반환은 제대로 이루어지지 않았다. 이는 1989년 동독의 장벽이 무너지고, 동구권이 몰락하면서 나치희생 유대인들의 보상 청구운동이 미국과 유럽에서 성공을 거둠으로써 나치 시대에 약탈당했던 유대인의 재산 반환 문제가 보다 적극성을 띠게 된 것과 맞물려 있다. 독일 도서관은 전쟁이 끝난 60년이 지났어도 아직까지 1933년과 1945년 사이에 입수한 약탈도서를 자신들의 도서로 소장하고 있다. 1998년 홀로코스트-시대의 자산에 대한 워싱턴 회의를 시작으로 독일도서관에서도 그들이 소장하고 있던 유대인 약탈도서를 찾아내어 반환해야한다는 흐름에 동조하게 되었다. 도서반환을 위해서는 먼저 약탈도서의 출처를 알아내야 한다. 독일 도서관들은 약탈도서 출처조사를 실행한 실용적인 지침서 발표, 찾아낸 약탈도서를 공개하는 데이타베이스등 다양한 방법으로 약탈도서반환을 위한 노력을 하고 있다. 그 결과 몇몇 도서관들은 약탈도서를 반환하기 시작했지만 아직 그 숫자는 미미하다.
