  • Currently, there are varieties of communication media options, such as E-mail, Instant Message, SMS and Computer discussion group. These genres keep expanding with the integration of computers and wireless technologies and even more it allows people to communicate at different time without travelling distances, However, it is mostly impossible the one communication media satisfies the same task demands under different situations. And online communication media can not reach the actual purpose of traditional communication in keeping the interpersonal relationship and richness of communication by sharing time and physical space. Therefore, we researched and examined on the current state of appropriateness communication style in different given situation as affected by requirement and its characteristics. With the result in research and survey, we suggested new communication style mediated by everyday thing through the case study.

Language Choice in Philippine Government Websites: Sociolinguistic Issues and Implications

  • Government websites provide useful and timely information to the public such as government's history, organizational values, codes of ethics, public services, facts about public official, among others. Using language choice as framework, the study seeks to examine what language is used, in what contents, and in what kind of website. The study employed online observation in 235 Philippine government websites (.gov.ph) via content analysis. As a result, English is overwhelmingly used; while Filipino, the Philippines' national language, and only a handful of regional languages, are minimally used in the contents. Discussion will follow how multilingualism can improve the dissemination of information and communication more conveniently and efficiently from the government to its citizens.

A Multimedia Case-based Environment: Teaching Technology Integration to Pre-service Teachers

  • The study described in this paper examined the effectiveness of a multimedia case-based learning environment to teach technology integration to Korean pre-service teachers. The structure and philosophy behind the use of embedded video in an online, multimedia system and the data collected from 103 pre-service teachers are presented and discussed. The overall finding shows that there was no significant difference from pre- to posttest among the lecture, the case-based, and the mixed environment groups. However, low prior knowledge students improved more when they learned about technology integration with the mixed method than with the case-based method alone. Discussion about this result and its educational implications conclude the paper.

텍스트 마이닝으로 살펴본 대학생들의 인공지능 윤리 인식 연구 (A Study on Artificial Intelligence Ethics Perceptions of University Students by Text Mining)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 인공지능 윤리 인식을 파악하여 대학 교양 인공지능 윤리 교육의 방향성을 탐색하고자 한다. 대학생 83명이 총 5개의 인공지능 윤리 토론 주제에 대한 의견을 작성하고, 작성된 텍스트를 기반으로 텍스트 마이닝 중 언어 네트워크를 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 인공지능 사회의 미래에 대해서 62.5%의 학생이 긍정적으로 바라보고 있었다. 둘째, 자율주행 자동차 사고 발생 시 39.2%의 학생이 현재 자율주행 수준으로는 차량 소유자의 책임으로 생각하였다. 셋째, 인공지능 발전의 역기능으로는 사생활 침해와 기술 악용, 정보편식을 꼽았다. 역기능 최소화 방안으로 인공지능 사용자와 개발자 모두의 윤리 교육이 필요하며 제도적인 준비도 병행되어야 한다고 언급하였다. 넷째, 얼굴 인식 기술이 보편화된 사회에 대해 19.2%의 학생만이 긍정적인 의견을 나타내었다. 마지막으로 데이터 수집 시 개인정보 이용 동의를 얻은 부분만 활용해야 할 뿐 아니라 도덕적인 기준이 없는 인공지능 활용 방안에 대해 사용자와 개발자 모두의 윤리적 소양을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 대학 교양 수준의 인공지능 윤리 교육을 설계할 때 시사점을 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

정규수업과 연계된 수학과의 웹 기반 가정학습에 대한 연구 (On a Web-Based Home Study in the Regular Lessons of Mathematics Education)

  • In a globalization and information society in the 21st century, the emphasis of education is on producing people who can create intellectual value. To meet the purpose in mathematics education, students should be taught to be able to understand basic logics and principles and exchange mathematical information each other. Also they had better be guided to study on their own at home in an effective way. In reality, however, most of the home study does not go beyond confirming the same homework. It is very difficult for students to plan systematic preparation and review of their lessons and study on their own. Moreover there seems to be no integration between the lessons students receive at school and in private classes. Therefore the need for more systematic home study in relation to school lessons is high to maximize the teaming effect. Studying through Web has little restriction in terms of time and space. Students can collect useful information inexpensively and share their learning assignment with each other. But mathematics education through Web has not yet been developed in such a way as to see a positive result from it. This research intends to develop a web site where students can study mathematics systematically in a self-guided way. The research methods applied included survey, student discussion and online home study. The questionnaires were designed to figure out students'and parents'changes in their concept of mathematics home study. The research also tried to look for ways to cut down the burden of expensive private lessons in mathematics. The student discussions were made up of problem-making and problem-solving. The discussion procedure was analysed so as to check if students used their creativity while they were working. As stated above, the research aims to develop a web site to support effective home study, enhance students' mathematical ability and reduce the burden of private lessons.

The relationship between non-cognitive student attributes and academic achievements in a flipped learning classroom of a pre-dental science course

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine whether non-cognitive student attributes such as learning style and personality type affected academic performance in a flipped learning classroom of a pre-dental undergraduate science course. Methods: 'Biodiversity and Global Environment,' a 15-week, 3-credit course, was designed as a flipped class in Seoul National University School of Dentistry in 2017. Second-year pre-dental students were required to enroll in the course and to engage in online learning and in-class discussion. The Kolb's Learning Style Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator were conducted to measure non-cognitive student factors. Independent samples t-test and multivariate regression analyses were used to examine the relationships between self-rated measurements and academic achievement. Results: More than half of the students enrolled in the flipped science course had an assimilator learning style (50%), followed by convergers (24%), accommodators (16%), and divergers (10%), and their personality types were dominated by the introverted, sensing, thinking, and judging types, respectively. Examining group differences using the t-test demonstrated a significant relationship between the diverger group and higher academic success. In particular, the multivariate regression analysis indicated that both thinking types and female students performed better in discussion than feeling types and male students. Conclusion: To operate the flipped learning classroom more effectively in medical and dental education, the instructor should carefully develop and apply a more tailored facilitation and relevant assessment by considering student learning styles and personality types.

유튜브 이용자의 구독 채널 수와 구독 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구 (Factors Affecting the Number of Subscribed Channel and Subscription Satisfaction of YouTube Users)

  • 본 연구는 이용자의 유튜브 구독에 대한 학술적 논의가 부족한 상황에서 구독 채널 수와 구독 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 살펴봄으로써 새로운 논의의 장을 이끌고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유튜브 이용자들의 구독 채널수와 구독 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 유튜브 이용 요인, 구독 동기 요인, 유튜브 채널 평가 요인으로 구분하고, 각 요인의 상대적 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 구독 채널 수에는 유튜브의 이용량과 편의성 구독 동기가 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 구독 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 편의성 구독 동기와 유튜버와의 소통 동기, 그리고 유튜브의 지각된 유용성으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 실무적 의의는 변화하는 뉴미디어 환경의 플랫폼과 채널 운영자에게 도움이 될 수 있다는 점과 뉴미디어 환경에서의 상호작용 연구의 외연을 확장했다는 점이다.

멀티채널 환경에서 정보탐색채널과 구매채널의 불일치 현상에 관한 연구: 쇼루밍 현상을 중심으로 (Inconsistency between Information Search and Purchase Channels: Focusing on the "Showrooming Phenomenon")

  • Purpose - "Showrooming" refers to the phenomenon where a shopper visits a store to see and compare products but makes the purchase online at a lower price. Surveys on showrooming activities at home and abroad indicate that a significant number of consumers pursue showrooming activities. The advent of "showroomers," who engage in buying activities, hovering both on and offline, while selectively choosing sales channels to suit their needs, is powerful enough to erode the borders between channels and bring about seismic changes in the distribution industry. However, surprisingly, there has been no in-depth discussion on showrooming. This study seeks to theoretically investigate what impact personal characteristics have on showrooming preferences and attitudes in a multi-channel environment. Specifically, assumptions have been made that price perception, perceived performance risk, and trust in online shopping not only have a direct impact on showrooming attitudes but also indirectly affect it through the means of contact motivation. Research design, data, and methodology - To test the hypotheses, this study conducted a survey of male and female shoppers, ages 20 through 40s, who live in metropolitan areas, and have actively showroomed fashion items in the last six months. A clothing item usually purchased after a careful decision-making process was chosen as the target product of the study. The survey was conducted between October and November 2014, using a professional survey service provider. A total of 200 surveys were collected, of which 198 were used for analysis. Conceptual model Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Amos 18.0 were employed for data analysis and model verification. In addition, following the confirmatory factor analysis and measurement model analysis, the theoretical model that corresponds to the research model was analyzed. Results - Analysis results show that price perception, perceived performance risk, and trust in online shopping have a statistically significant and positive (+) impact on showrooming attitudes. In addition, in terms of the indirect influence of price perception and perceived performance risk on showrooming attitudes through means of contact motivation, price perception had a statistically significant and positive impact on means of contact motivation, whereas perceived performance risk did not have a statistically significant impact on it, with the relevant hypothesis rejected. Conclusions - These analysis results imply that the ultimate goal of consumers is to maximize their shopping benefits by selectively and strategically taking advantage of different channels in a complementary manner. This study presents many implications for distributors to encourage a deep understanding of showrooming consumers who have complicated consumption behaviors and to build channel integration strategies. This study has limitations in theoretical and practical implications. Therefore, subsequent studies need to focus on verifying that showrooming activities are based on reasonable and planned decisions by applying the theory of reasoned or planned behavior. In addition, the scope of the study should expand to include web showrooming, where consumers conduct product research online and purchase offline.

발달장애아동 부모의 온라인 공동체 상호작용과 성장과정 유형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Pattern of Growth Process of the Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities based on Online Parental Community)

  • 본 연구는 발달장애아동 부모의 상호작용과 이를 통한 성장과정에 대한 이론적 모형을 제시하고자 포털사이트에서 운영되는 온라인 공동체의 게시글 중 총 250개를 근거이론방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 발달장애아동 부모들은 도움이 필요하고 동질감을 갖고자 하는 인과적 조건에서 상호작용을 시작하였다. 게시자, 댓글자간의 상호작용이라는 중심현상은 각 게시자의 태도가 개방적인가, 폐쇄적인가라는 맥락적 조건과 게시자와 댓글자가 상대방을 존중하고 친밀하게 대화하는가, 일방적이고 평가적 대화인가라는 중재적 조건에 따라 주고받음이 활발해지기도 하고 숨어버리는 양상이 나타나기도 하였다. 상호작용의 중심전략으로는 의지다짐, 구체정보, 공감과 지지라는 세 개의 범주에 7개의 하위범주가 포함되었다. 건강한 성장을 이룬 발달장애 부모들은 자기 수용과 강한 유대감을 가지게 되고, 부정적 철수를 하게 되는 부모들은 신세한탄을 하거나 숨어버리는 결과를 보인다. 부모성장 과정은 세 개의 상호작용 모형인 '의지다짐', '구체정보', '공감과 위로' 모형을 통하여 설명되었고 부모성장을 위한 지원으로 경험자를 통한 신뢰와 격려 제공, 지속적인 상호작용 격려하기 그리고 비공식적 지원체계와 공식적 지원체계의 협력적 보완 등을 제언하였다.

소비자의 공연 경험에 다가가기 - 온라인 게시글 분석을 통한 공연 경험의 구성요소 탐구 - (Getting Closer to Consumer Performance Experience: Research on Performance Experience Components through Online Post Analysis)

  • 오늘날 문화소비를 연구하는데 있어 실제 관람객의 경험을 구체적으로 이해하고 분석하는 작업은 핵심적이다. 이는 소셜미디어 등 표현할 수 있는 미디어 공간이 증가하면서 실제로 사람들이 많은 공연 경험들을 기록으로 남기고 있기 때문에 이 전에는 접근이 불가능했던 주관적인 경험의 기록들을 데이터로 활용할 수 있게 되었다는 점과 깊이 관련되어 있다. 이 연구는 사람들의 공연 경험이 실제로 어떤 요소로 구성되어 있는지를 온라인상에 존재하는 공연 경험에 대한 사람들의 실제 표현에 기반해 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 두 가지 유형의 데이터를 확보하였다. 먼저 관람 전에 공연 추천을 요청하는 글을 올릴 때 원하는 공연을 어떻게 표현하는가를 지식인과 카페 플랫폼에서 수집해 수식어를 중심으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 사람들은 동반자나 나이와 같은 개인의 구체적인 상황이 반영된 수식어를 주로 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 티켓예매사이트의 공연 후기 글을 통해 관람 후 경험이 어떻게 묘사되었는가를 분석하였다. 그 결과 기존 연구에서 공연 경험 만족 요소로 알려져 왔던 스토리나 음악과 같은 요소 외에도 동반자, 재관람 의도, 관람 경력과 관련된 표현이 중심을 이루는 것으로 드러났다. 연구 결과에 대한 이론적 논의 뿐아니라 실용적 의의와 한계에 대해서 논의하였다.
