Motorized retractors enhance the safety of passengers by removing the slack of webbing and by holding upright driving position. Reliability of a driving mechanism that includes one-way clutch between the driving motor and webbing is directly linked to the safety of passenger. In this research, conditions for locking one-way clutch and also conditions for sustaining locking are theoretically investigated. the operation of a motorized retractor under realistic conditions is simulated in order to validate the proposed retractor design.

A random effects model of a one-way layout contingency table is developed using a Dirichlet-multinomial distribution. A test statistic, say $T_k$, is suggested for detecting Dirichlet-multinomial departure from a multinomial distribution. It is shown that the $T_k$ test is asymptotically superior to the classical chi-square test based on the asymptotic relative efficiency. This superiority is further evidenced by a Monte Carlo simulation.

In the one-way random effect model, we often estimate the variance components by the ANOVA method and then estimate the population mean. Whe there are only two distint group sizes, the conventional mean estimator is represented as a weighted average of two normal means with weights being the function of variance component estimators. In this paper, we will study a method which can compute the exact variance of the mean estimator when we set the negative variance component estimate to zero.

A single span-to-depth ratio function is proposed for control of deflection in one-way concrete construction. The equation can be applied to one-way slabs, beams, and flat plates. Effects of cracking, time-dependent deformation, boundary conditions, applied loading, and target deflection-to-span ratio are taken into account.

This paper describes about the development of the 3 Dimensional interactive physics experiment system using virtual reality technologies. Until now, most of the computer aided education systems have adopted one-sided learning way which only shows or tells. It excludes students during learning processes. To solve the problems of the one-sided learning way and to improve the educational productivity, the 3 Dimensional interactive physics experiment system is developed. The 3 Dimensional interactive physics experiment system introduced in this paper provides a new learning motivation for students and improves their educational effects through the 3 Dimensional graphics, realtime action, and realistic interactive experiment.

Nonparametric tests for comparing umbrella pattern treatment effects with a control in a one-way layout were studied in Chen and Wolfe (1993). In this paper we propose a modification that improves the power of the Chen-Wolfe test. The results of a Monte Carlo power study are discussed.

An ad hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes without any Infrastructure. However, ad hoc networks are vulnerable to attacks such as routing disruption and resource consumption; thus, routing protocol security is needed This paper proposes a secure and efficient routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks, where only one-way hash function are used to authenticate nodes in the ROUTE REQUEST, while additional public-key cryptography is used to guard against active attackers disguising a node in the ROUTE REPLY.

In this paper, we develop the Bayesian test procedure for the intraclass correlation coefficient in the unbalanced one-way random effect model based on the reference priors. That is, the objective is to compare two nested model such as the independent and intraclass models using the factional Bayes factor. Thus the model comparison problem in this case amounts to testing the hypotheses $H_1:\rho=0$ versus $H_2:{\rho}{\neq}0$. Some real data examples are provided.

This paper introduced truss model and one-way slab elastic Model to analyse flexure of unbonded prestressed concrete member. After cracking, we could determine concrete membrane depth, deflection and stress. In order to do that, an numerical example of simply supported one way slab which has non-external membrane support(s=0) is analysed. The analytical results using the analytical model were compared with several experimental results and were generally satisfied.
