A Study on the Rural Development Information System using ISP Methodology (정보 전략 계획(ISP)을 통한 농촌지역개발사업 정보시스템 구축방안)

  • This study aims at suggesting some measures to establish rural community development information system through ISP. A future model for rural community development information system was established by applying such 3-step ISP methodology as environment analysis, current status(AS-IS) analysis, future(To-Be) directions. As a result, with the vision of realizing comprehensive information service for rural development projects, rural development information system has established such goals as the assistance of project decision making through preparing rural development project data management system and acquiring evaluation efficiency, the preparation of spatial information utilization system, the utilization of objective GIS-based information through the increase of data management efficiency, the community activation and participatory rural development through rural spatial information portal service. In order to attain the goals, four strategical subject matters were derived. They are: 1) one-stop service subject matter for data management including pilot DB building for rural development projects, 2) rural information GIS service strengthening subject matter including DB building for rural development, O&M measures, 3) step-by-step DB building subject matter including the sharing of integrated information system for rural development, and 4) core value increase subject matter of spatial information data including the building of active service delivery system.

  • In this study, to expand and develop the policy information portal (POINT) of the National Library of Korea Sejong. This study conducted a survey and in-depth interview with government officials and policy researchers. The suggested ways to support the policy information portal (POINT) in the future. As a result of the analysis, the use of the current policy information portal service was found to be low, and it was found that improvement of information access, integrated search, and expansion of information provision data were more necessary. It was suggested that a one-stop service should be implemented to provide various information, systematic information on related data for each task, overseas trend data, core service data, promotion activation, data linkage by strengthening cooperation with various government ministries and research institutes, and easy information provision and menu composition.

  • This study is on the focus of the cost-effective and time-effective in the BCTOC which commenced the On Dock Termainal System in 1998 for the first time in Korea.   • The first purpose of this study was to compare the fashion zones and fashion brands on the floors in small and medium volume department store with those of big department stores within adjacent trading area. The second purpose was to find out similarity and differentiation of near-by department stores. The third one was to propose the future fashion marketing strategies of the department stores. The methods used were references, internet, field observation, and interview in 2002. Eight department stores within adjacent trading area were classified and analysed In "Gangnam division", "Seocho division'. and "Youngdeungpo division". The results were as follows : Firstly, there was a low relationship between the degrees of brand equalization of each department store in the "Gangnam, Seocho. and Youngdeungpo division". Secondly, there was an alteration on the floor layout of each department store. It was layed out in a way that allowed for customers, who wanted to just purchase specific items, to go upstairs and look around several stores, which allowed for not only rise in the amount of sales but also offer the convenience of one stop shopping for the customers. Thirdly I proposed several marketing strategies such as lifestyle marketing, relationship marketing, and compile marketing which solves everyday life agenda. I also proposed the solution selling education to develop service education of salesperson. I finally proposed the overriding priority policy by sales record of each store.licy by sales record of each store.

  • The purpose of this research is to present the improvement measure of lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge. For this purpose, this research tries to find out major northeast asia environment factors and accordingly the effects of its. The effects of coastal shipping system's development strategy is analysed by structural equation model and multiple regression model. Research results show that three types of coastal shipping developing strategy(connected transportation system, structure of coastal shipping system, governmental support policy) will contribute much to be logistic hub-nation. The contribution effects is increasing cargo from strengthened feeder transport system and maximizing logistic service &minimizing logistic costs. From the result, some implications are derived as follow. First, familiar environmental balanced ocean-coastal transport system is required. Second the one-stop logistic service system is necessary to build excusive feeder port, and to establish Ro-Ro ship & high-speed ship, etc.. Third, governmental support policy and subsidy(tax exempted oil & various tax benefits) are required to bring up lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge.

Model of Remote Service and Intelligent Fault Diagnosis for CNC Machine Tool (공작기계의 지능형 고장진단과 원격 서비스 모델)

  • The CNC machine toots has two kinds of fault. One is the fault due to degraded parts and the other is the fault due to operation disability. The phenomena of degradation is predictable but the operational fault is unpredictable because it occurred without any warning. The major faults of CNC machine tool are operational faults which are charged over 70%. This paper describes the model of remote service and the intelligent fault diagnosis system to diagnosis operational faults of CNC machine tools. To generalize fault diagnosis, two diagnosis models such as SF(Switching Function) and SSF(Step Switching Function) are proposed. The SF is static model and SSF is dynamic model for expression of fault. The SF and SSF model can be generated using SFG(Switching Function Generator) which is developed in this research. The three major operational faults such as emergency stop error, cycle start disability and machine ready disability are applied to experiment of fault modeling. To remote service of faults fur CNC machine tool, the web server and client system based internet are proposed as the suitable environment. The developed two technologies are implemented with the internal function of open architecture controller. The implemental results for two technologies are presented to validate the proposed scheme.

  • This study analysed the user behaviors and satisfaction for the government information service of Nation Assembly Library of Korea, based on the questionnaires from users including the legislative employees and other library users. The results showed that legislative employees used the services more often and have more needs for the services than other users. Most legislative employees and other library users evaluated that the services should be improved and that it would be desirable to develop a portal system and services providing the integrated search and offering government information as one stop service.

Effects of Smoking Cessation Program for Male University Students: Perceived Nicotine Dependency and Self-efficacy (남자 대학생을 위한 금연프로그램의 효과 - 니코틴 의존도와 자기효능감을 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of 8 weeks smoking cessation program(SCP) developed by researchers. Method: One group pretest-posttest design was used in this study. The subjects were 88 male university students who consented to participate in the 8 weeks SCP. The SCP in this study consisted of a stop-smoking class, e-mail, SMS(short message service), cellular phone, internet cafe, displayed panel, and patch or acupuncture for quitting smoking. Korean version of questionnaire for nicotine dependency by Ahn et al.(2002), the smoking self-efficacy scale translated by Choi(1999) and subjects' opinion about the SCP were measured. The data were analyzed by using frequency, Chi-Square test, paired t-test and repeated measures ANOVA with SPSS WIN 10.1 Program. Results: 1) The rate of quitting smoking was 31.8% after 8 weeks SCP. 2) There was no significant decrease in the nicotine dependency score among smoking subjects after SCP. 3) There was a significant increase in self-efficacy after SCP. The mean score of self -efficacy in the quitting smoking group increased significantly, but did not significantly change in the smoking group. 4) The stop-smoking class was the most helpful among contents of the SCP. Contents of the SCP except for internet cafe were useful for quitting smoking in this study. Conclusion: The above results indicated that the 8 weeks SCP would be a helpful intervention to quit smoking for male university students.

DEVELOPMENT OF SAFETY-BASED LEVEL-OF-SERVICE PARAMETERS FOR TWO-WAY STOP-CONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS (무신호 교차로의 안전 -서비스 수준 측정에 관한 연구-)

  • Current methods for evaluating unsignalized intersections, and estimating level-of-service (LOS) is determined from efficiency-based criteria such as little or no delay to very long delays. At present, similar procedures to evaluate intersections using safety-based criteria do not exist. The improvement of sight distances at intersections is the most effective way of improving intersection safety. However, a set of procedures is necessary to account for the limitations in current methodology. Such an approach would build upon such methods, but also account for: deficiencies in the current deterministic solution for the determination of intersection sight distances; opportunity for an accident and severity of an accident; and cost-effectiveness of attaining various levels of sight distances. In this research, a model that estimates the degree of safety at two-way stop-controlled intersections is described. Only crossing maneuvers are considered in this study because accidents caused by the crossing maneuvers are the dominate type among intersection accidents. Monte Carlo methods are used to estimate the hazard at an intersection as a function of roadway features and traffic conditions. Driver`s minimum gap acceptance in the crossing vehicles and headway distribution on the major road are used in the crossing vehicles and headway distribution on the major road are used in the model to simulate the real intersectional maneuvers. Other random variables addressed in the model are: traffic speeds; preception-reaction times of both drivers in the crossing vehicles and drivers in oncoming vehicles on the major road; and vehicles on the major roads. The developed model produces the total number of conflicts per year per vehicle and total potential kinetic energy per year per vehicle dissipated during conflicts as measurements of safety at intersections. Based on the results from the developed simulation model, desirable sight distances for various speeds were determined as 350 feet, 450 feet and 550 feet for 40 mph, 50 mph and 60 mph prevailing speed on the major road, respectively. These values are seven to eight percent less than those values recommended by AASHTO. A safety based level-of-service (LOS) is also developed using the results of the simulation model. When the total number of conflicts per vehicle is less than 0.05 at an intersection, the LOS of the intersection is `A' and when the total number of conflicts per vehicle is larger than 0.25 at an intersection, the LOS is `F'. Similarly, when the total hazard per vehicle is less than 350, 000 1b-ft2/sec2, the LOS is `F'. Once evaluation of the current safety at the intersection is complete, a sensitivity analysis can be done by changing one or more input parameters. This will estimate the benefit in terms of time and budget of hazard reduction based upon improving geometric and traffic characteristics at the intersection. This method will also enable traffic engineers in local governments to generate a priority list of intersection improvement projects.

  • The functions and roles in the various fields of modern society are changing into the unified and multiplex structure, which is simultaneous and virtual communication environments beyond physical space and time, by the digital IT technology. The urban traffic system is also being intellectualized in order to solve urban traffic problems and convenient services by using digital IT technology. The bus, which is the one of the most common public transportation, are suffering in the decrease of bus service quality and the bus passengers rate because of the development of other public transportation systems such as the subway and electric railway and by rapidly increasing private cars. By recognizing these problems, many domestic and overseas cities are promoting to introduce the Bus Information System (BIS) to improve service quality of buses through the intelligent traffic system. According to the construction of this new information system called the Bus Information System (BIS), the new bus stop configuration system and design plans are being required to solve the existing bus stop information system. Therefore, this research was conducted to suggest an effective BIS configuration system plan and synthetic design goals based on the investigation the problems of the information system and the BIS configuration system for Busan city. Also, this research are conducted the below actions as follows: First, the literature survey was conducted, such as theoretical documents on the bus stop and the Bus Information System(BIS), Also, the design trend of the BIS was examined through domestic and overseas BIS cases studies. Scondly, the problems related to the information system in Busan city bus stops were investigated to investigate the present state and problems of the Bus Information System (BIS). Finally, as a result of this research, the effective BIS configuration system plan and design approach methods of bus stops were proposed for by Busan city based on the above investigation results.
